The Secret Equation to Optimize Behavior and Happiness | Paul Hylenski | TEDxManitouSprings

Explore how our physical and mental environments crucially shape our identity and actions, drawing on Kurt Lewin's equation for behavior. By delving into the dynamics of these environments and the factors of behavior, we uncover strategies to subtly influence and optimize human behavior and happiness. This approach allows for transformative changes in individuals, often without their conscious awareness of the underlying shifts occurring. Paul Hylenski is an accomplished Aerospace Manufacturing Business Leader with over 15 years of experience in the industry. Beyond his technical expertise, Paul is passionate about leadership and human dynamics. He has implemented psychological safety and social engineering principles to create environments where people can thrive. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

In just 10 minutes, you taught us many valuable lessons, including the importance of psychological safety, learning from mistakes, encouraging colleagues to challenge you, and failing to grow and innovate.

Acctually I think that the awareness to change the enviroment in order to intervene on behavior is not Math but Design. Yes Math is important, a powerful tool and the language of science and the world, but if you see carefully so is Design and it is not always related to Math... think a mindset for example, is a couple of thoughts you cultivate to change how you perceive the things around you, in some way you are designing your own way of thinking. Nice speach!

Habits are things we do automatically, so establishing healthy habits can help you achieve your goals. For example, if you want to lose weight, you can establish a routine of regular exercise or healthy eating.

Fantastic points. We have the ability to engineer environments to be more conducive to happiness and most of the times it starts with the people in our circle.
