Helix Vill-V

It's hard to imagine how much of a genius Vill-V actually is, until she starts playing 11D chess with none other than herself, and still somehow made enough sense to say that she ended up winning.

I think the most interesting aspect about Villv Is that She hates herself, yet her self hate has defined her into a unique person, I can't really think of any other character in a series that defines their character with self hate and doesn't turn out to be edgy

I think you forgot about something. In one of the vill-v's remembrance eggs kevin did test against vill-v's ichor spider form as a kevin killer in fact the last kevin killer. It is not known how this test ended. Perhaps vill-v finally found his weakness and just decided the test was a success. I personally believe Kevin Killer MK5 is her ICHOR form and she found a way to kill kevin like a kryptonite-superman interaction. Also i remember hearing somewhere MEI instructed vill-v to find a way to kill kevin because if he goes full on project stigma or something.

Not sure tbh! Right now I have 2 more ER videos planned: one is a story Recap, and the other one is a video about Elysia. After that I plan to move to the new story arc. I would love to cover everything ER related but I don't have the time. Maybe I'll come back someday when I'll have more time to cover the flamechasers that I missed.

Do Kalpas session, the deeply conflict nature and his nature under the mask is of great characteristic. The top 6 flame chaser (and mobius) are all of some of the most unique characters (even Eden is complex and special, not just typical rich glamour girl).

the idea of partioning reminds me of the avatar skill in orv, since kdj wasn't able to retain all of his memories when he created another avatar with 49% of his memories, which resulted in kdj's co finding out

[PART 1] Ohh boy youtube algorithm really did dirty for this video. I only now found out about it. But either way i would like to share my piece regarding Vill-V and when she could partition her personality. I personally find Vill-V and also Mobius as very interesting characters so me and my friend spent hours discussing this topic after chapter 30. Now that doesn't mean i know the right answer but it's something you can look from another angle. As until hoyoverse gives a clear answer it might just remain a possibility one way or another. There might be some loose ends in my comment as i am trying to recall the conversation we had months ago and then also compress those hour long conversations to a compact comment. Vill-V and her personalities was one of the 4 unresolved mysteries regarding flame-chasers and previous era(PE). So with Vill-V it was figuring out how her personalities work, what is the deal with evil VIll-V and when these key memory points about Vill-V happened. First of all i want to share a very good documentation that i suggest checking out as it is very well made. It's "[Previous Era] In-Depth Honkai Impact 3rd Chronological Timeline" made by SorrowfulSans on Reddit. This will help understand the situation better. When it comes to understanding Vill-V chapter 30th is the one we dissected for information regarding Vill-V's nature. For there were the following scenes. Vill-V interaction with Mobius on the island before she joined Moth's. The scene with Vill-V interacting with the zone left from HoBinding. The scene where other Vill-V persona is accusing the evil Vill-V of having done something and presumably the point evil Vill-V was locked away. The scene where evil Vill-V interacts with Mobius prior to deleting her. These plus some various logs from remembrance vessel(logs) in ER that i will get to were used by us to determine the sort of timeline of Vill-V events, her personas and when she could split her memory. To know when VIll-V could partition her mind is complicated because we would need to understand how original VIll-V acts and behaves. To understand what is an act she could do as a con artist and things only her other personas would do. However to find out if Vill-V could partition her memory before becoming a Mantis soldier can be answered easily if we find out some clear evidence of a Vill-V personality appearing in some event prior to her becoming a Mantis. To answer that we needed to tackle some conflicting information. First there is the island with Vill-V and Mobius in the past. This was something we tried to so hard to understand if the Vill-V in that scene is acting or is the work of some of her split personalities. It would be definitive proof of partition before surgery as that scene is happening before VIll-V even joined Moth. Unfortunately that could not be determined. What we do know is in the scene with evil Vill-V and Mobius in chapter 30 and a Vill-V log named "Remnants". In the chapter Mobius asked Vill-V who is she before got deleted. This indicated to me while Mobius knew about Vill-V personality situation this is actually the first time evil Vill-V interacts with Mobius. As Mobius is a rather smart individual i wouldn't say she would forget or misplace this kind of information if she did know about this existence. Which would then indicate that the island scene is simply an act by the original. However there is the log "Remnants". Unfortunately it's not exactly clear when this log is taking place. But in that log Vill-V is heavily injured and Mobius went to recover her. At the end Vill-V wakes up and looks at Mobius with a completely unfamiliar look in her eyes. Where in this scene Mobius also asks who she is. I believe the Vill-V in this scene is the original Vill-V after sustaining heavy/life-threatening injuries this must have jolted back the original VIll-V to the surface of the consciousness. So then them both not recognizing each other makes so that this scene is the first time Mobius and the original VIll-V interacts. Unfortunately we don't know if this scene is happening prior to VIll-V becoming a Mantis or after. However this creates a paradox for the island scene. If Mobius hadn't met evil Vill-V prior chapter 30 then it can't be the one on island. But also if remnants is the first interaction for Mobius with original Vill-V then it also can't be original Vill-V on that island. Which i can explain in only one way. Not all VIll-V personas were created at the same time and some personas might have existed in the past but not anymore as of present date in ER. However that alone is not strong enough evidence of Vill-V partitioning her memory prior becoming a Mantis. As maybe Vill-V was really such a great con-artist that she completely fooled Mobius and everyone else on that island and kept up that act all the way till the Remnants log. Where in that log Vill-V not recognizing Mobius could be related to her injuries affecting her memory. No for this we need another evidence. For that we need to check when exactly Vill-V became a Mantis. Well from Pardofelis log "After Sundown" we can see that Vill-V became a Mantis soldiers around the same time Pardofelis did. We also know from Pardofelis log "The volunteer" that she was part of 2nd generation Mantis soldiers that were created after HoDomination incident. So Vill-V became a Mantis soldier some time after HoDomination was defeated. So now we need another event before the HoDomination where we have Vill-V in a persona acting in a way that based on original Vill-V personality would not behave and preferably Mobius in the scene aswell as the benchmark of Vill-V behaving "normally" in her eyes. Luckily for us there is one event that does fulfill this criteria - Kosma's over meta-morph incident. Kosma's over meta-morph incident happened after the 9th herrscher HoEarth incident on the Mu continent in PE. In that Griseo's father died and for one reason or another Kosma got angry at Kevin for something he did which involuntarily triggered Kosma's over meta-morph. Which can be seen in Kosma's log "Daybreak transformation". Then afterwards as Kosma couldn't turn back he left Moth but Mobius eventually found him and offered assistance to turn him back. That can be seen in log "Demonic passage". Finally in the log "A dinner for one" they are trying to stabilize Kosma's situation by letting Vishnu devour some honkai beasts. Now in this last log Vill-V makes an appearance aswell. In here Mobius remarks to Vill-V not recognizing her companion Kosma which she has bullied so hard in the past. This striked to me as very odd. Original Vill-V from what we know as a persona who is genius but is rather timid with the lack of confidence and ambition. Somebody who i would describe a person on the softer side. Something like bullying isn't something that i could imagine the original Vill-V would want to do. Now that doesn't mean she couldn't act it out as the con-artist. But just because you can do something doesn't mean you would want to. The characteristics that define Vill-V are not of someone who would want to bully someone. Nor i see any reason that she would need to behave this way to cover her identity. Bullying Kosma just doesn't seem like something on the check list of to do things to cover her act. It's an unnecessary action. This seems more like willed decision. Which to me sounds only the Magician would be willing to do. This persona of Vill-V in a way you could say is the most unlike orignal Vill-V persona depicting that Vill-V that she wished was, the more open, eccentric and not timid version of herself. In this scene i would also say the way Vill-V speaks sounds to me a lot like the Conductor than the original VIll-V. With this and the prior we came to the conclusion that Vill-V must have been able to partition her memory prior the Mantis surgery.

[PART 2] Now i can see that there must be something regarding her Mantis surgery as it should leave some impact on her story. While yes, i believe the Mantis surgery is the moment when evil Vill-V was born or partitioned. As we established before Mobius had not interacted with evil Vill-V prior chapter 30 so evil Vill-V can't have been on that island with Mobius. So evil Vill-V must have been created later but at the same time she can't have been around too long as Mobius would have found out. Now we know Vill-V became Mantis after the HoDomination. But then we have those very odd scenes left in chapter 30. First is the one recall from past with Vill-V investigating the zone of HoBinding influence. Where there the laughter in that scene to me seems to indicate evil Vill-V presence. Which was really odd as VIll-V up that point had no connections to the tragedy of binding incident. And then there is that scene where evil Vill-V is locked up for something she did by an another persona which we don't know exactly when happened. We were thinking really long on why would hoyoverse show the scene with Vill-V and tragedy of binding. Like there must be a reason they show this scene. We came to a conclusion that whatever influence or impact Vill-V or evil Vill-V did in this case must be the reason she was imprisoned. Which would check out with evil Vill-V being born after 10th herrscher and then be locked up slightly after or during 11th herrscher incident. Giving that relatively small window for Mobius to find out about this Vill-V existence. What could she have done is unknown as i said prior VIll-V had 0 connections to the tragedy of binding incident. However the influence or effect of HoBinding could have affected evil Vill-V that caused her to do something bad let's say. This is because of the honkai reactions and HoBinding. Now i didn't explain why evil Vill-V was created after becoming a Mantis. I believe evil VIll-V is the personification or side of Vill-V that is influenced by the will of honkai. Every and all Mantis soldiers are subjected to the instinct of succumbing to the power of their honkai gene and thus are actively suppressing it. This can be seen in Sakura's log "Yaksha" or the whole First institute incident. So it can be that this concept is taken and applied to Vill-V and put it in it's own unique way by making this evil Vill-V the scapegoat of taking in all the influence and negative thoughts that are brought by the side effects of the mantis surgery or you could say the honkai malice that is affecting her mind. This ties in to the whole 50% of Vill-V being evil VIll-V. There has been prior connections of hinduism and honkai. In regards of Vill-V personalities they take another aspect which is equilibrium of yin and yang. The original Vill-V is the whole being at start with the whole aspect of her yin and yang. In that belief every person has their yin and yang side. How exactly it depends from person to person, but outside of budhist monk most people are never at equilibrium of their yin and yang but more sway in one direction or another. With Vill-V there is no exception. Then when she partitions her mind it's not just taking a key aspect of her persona or her desire for a persona and putting it as it's own entity but also in a sense fragmenting her yin and yang. You could say that the 7 personalities of Vill-V is her yang side split into many pieces but at the moment they are overall bigger together then her yin side. While evil Vill-V is her yin side. And as she is the only representing her yin side then it would be 50% of her being or whatever level of yin she has at the time. There was a scene in chapter 30 where it was said if the prison of evil Vill-V was full and over-spilled then Vill-V would turn out was a villain all along. This would be because as the scapegoat of Vill-V representing and taking all the yin of her being if that was ever more than 50% it would break the balance and lean Vill-V to be on dark side. Which to me sounds an elegant way to showcase the influence of the honkai on Vill-V's mind in her own unique way. *TL;DR* Vill-V could partition her mind prior her Mantis surgery but it is unknown exactly when she started doing it. This is based from Mobius not knowing about evil Vill-V and original Vill-V until some later events down the timeline. Which also supported by Kosma's over-meta morph incident showcasing Vill-V one of her persona in action that the original VIll-V would not do or act out that happens before her surgery. While the evil VIll-V was born because of the side of Mantis surgery. By making evil Vill-V the side that scapegoats all the influence left by the honkai will affecting her mind after the surgery. Who then was locked up after the tragedy of binding for not completely clear reasons but something that she did that deemed her a threat to leave on the surface of her consciousness.

This was a good read. I agree with some of the points. The thing about Vill-V, and the entire ER to be honest, is that HoYo instead of giving out direct answers for a lot of question, only implied them through subtle hints. They left a lot of gaps for the players themselves to fill out themselves, which is a good thing, but it can also be frustrating soemtimes.

@@HomuLabs I think these gaps are amazing for players like me. That way we can take those scattered pieces and try to fit them together and sort of patch in those gaps with deduction and reasoning. However, I would imaginine in the ideal world all of these gaps are eventually filled in by hoyoverse. With them either matching these player deductions or maybe something entirerly diffrenet. But unfortunately sometimes there is no new story or information given to players so some gaps just stay officially unresolved. I would definetly would like to see hoyoverse make more PE content. As i feel it has so much potentiall for story content. They could expand on Sundown allery as a lot of flame chasers had their origins tied into it. Kalpas as a whole is quite mysterious in his own right and that unique heart of his. Expanding more on other projects like Valuka and Ark. Maybe some expansion of origin of Moth organization and Dr.Mobius. It did make me a bit sad with Because of you wraping up ER marking it as the end. Because i feel like there so much more to explore here. But maybe someday we can get some more PE story content.

You see I actually stopped playing Honkai because there's too much stuff for me to grind/do (honestly I'm just lazy reading) but still interested about the story. Happy to hear that my videos helped you! I am considering doing lore discussion steams for Honkai in the near future. Regarding other HoYo games, I plan to cover Star Rail alongside HI3 when it releases. I'm not really opposed to the idea of making content about other HoYo games, but I wish to focus on Honkai for the time being. I feel like there are already a lot of great CCs that talk about the Lore of Genshin better than I ever could. Meanwhile, Honkai has such an underserved market when it comes to lore, that I feel like I can help more people by doing content about it.

Wow, that's a great story and event better explanation! Still I have some questions. I have just concluded Chapter 30 and cant shake off the feeling that Pure eVill-V was somehow acting aligned with other FCs. She poses as a Villan to buy some time, but people she takes to the Dark side: KK and Mobius trust her enough to follow. And she knows its possible to bring them back 🤿 Wouldnt that mean that Puree e-Vill-V was just taking the act to enable final victory for the 13? Its like she was evil and all, but all her actions were a bluff to buy HoC trust. 🥂 food for Thought? 🎉

Well, the Original Vill-V said the the Evil wanted to get rid of HoC eventually, so it's pretty obvious that she was only getting along with her to stay alive and she was waiting for an opportunity to eliminate her. But, she wasn't necessarily on the FC's side either. She considered herself "evil" at the end of the day. She was fighting for herself. Mobius and Kevin didn't trust the "EVIL" personality. They trusted Vill-V as a whole. They knew that "Vill-V" wouldn't let the Evil personality run rampant and do this without a reason and a back-up plan to stop her. And they were right, since the Original Vill-V has actually manipulating things from the shadow.
