Located about 20 minutes west of Lake Louise, Alberta, you will find the second tallest waterfall in all of Canada!
Takakkaw Falls drops a total 1223 feet and is located inside Yoho National Park.
It is very easy to access the Falls, the drive to get there through the mountains is breathtaking! There is a very large parking area near the base of the falls.
NOTE
If you are hauling a trailer, you might have a hard time to get past one very tight hairpin turn going up the mountain. I only saw smaller sized trailers at the falls.
As you drive west on the Trans Canada Highway Route 1, the falls are located just east of the small town of Field, British Columbia.
Turn north onto Yoho Valley Road (this road is closed from October to June)
Drive for about 15 minutes and you will be at the base of the falls.
It is an easy paved walking trail right to the falls, in fact, there was a lady there who was able to do it on her mobility scooter.
