The Science Of Queen Jack (QJ) | SplitSuit Poker Hands

Ойындар

Do you know how Queen Jack hits flops and performs both preflop and postflop? Or how many streets of value top pair with a weak kicker is worth? We cover everything you need to know about playing QJ in this video!
For this one, SplitSuit uses the #poker tool Flopzilla Pro to analyze QJ and shows how often it flops huge hands, draws, and single pairs. Note that the suited and offsuit variant hit flops at similar frequencies, they are very different in terms of the best way to approach them preflop.
James then shares multiple tips for playing QJ preflop, especially when it comes to 3-betting and even facing 3-bets. Postflop tips include the number of streets of value things like top pair are worth, as well as how to approach second pair on boards like AQ5 and KJ6. Make sure you understand the analysis behind this confusing starting hand to avoid the common mistakes most players continue to make with it!

Definitely easier to understand while I'm watching you explain vs. sitting at the table trying to keep emotion from clouding my judgement. That's where the study and experience come into play I believe. Maybe you've covered this before, but thoughts on post flop after a BB defend and/or 3-bet vs. CO/Button open? Variety of situations to choose from...say A5s or 44-88 as examples?

You're exactly right about study and how it comes into play. As for your follow-up, are you looking at that spot from the defender or aggressor's point of view?

Originally was thinking as from the BB (as OOP is a bit more of a challenge for me) but now that you bring it up how the CO/Button would play after a BB 3-Bet would be good too. Same type of hands on a variety of flops vs. typical archetype players.@@ThePokerBank

I actually like QJ but good video, makes sense, explains a lot. Folding QJ off can be hard though on looser tables not going to lie but it does get beat by a lot, anything 3 betting, AQ, KQ, hell even KJ, only thing it seems to actually beat is J10/J9 or Q10
