How to Play Suited Connectors | Upswing Poker Level-Up

Ойын-сауық

Poker starting hands that are both suited and connected can be massive money-makers. But they can also cost you your stack if you over-play them. Do you know the proper times to raise, 3-bet, and call a 3-bet with suited connectors? And are you aware of the preference towards lower suited connectors in certain scenarios?
Alongside host Mike Brady, poker pro Gary Blackwood gives you the answers to those key questions and more in this episode of Upswing Poker Level-Up.

the next episode is about a pocket pair... but it's the highest one! I'll note down your suggestion for another episode.

That was comprehensive. I think it's great that you guys talked about when to implement these plays as well as how. I think I might sign up for Upswing.

On K82 If I have 65 he will have more QQ which are harder to make fold but if I have QJ he will have less QQ and JJ and more lower pocket pairs that are easier to make fold. Please elaborate more if possible.

Blockers can have both good and bad properties at the same time. On the flop, your opponent will always call with QQ/JJ on K82, so blocking those hands with QJ is good. On the turn, your opponent will likely start folding QQ/JJ to a double barrel, and they may already have folded the lower pocket pairs on the flop, so 65 is good. But QJ also blocks strong Kx hands like KQ/KJ, which is good. In the end, both of these hands will be good bluffing candidates on the flop + turn + river. Depending on the spot, the solver will often barrel to the river with both of them (at some frequency). Perhaps our wording could have been clearer in the episode. Hopefully this clears it up though!

This strategy Will work in advance poker player's table. In low stakes and full of callers an callin station who never fold Ax or Kx can cost a ton of money. It's My experience

Never bluff the fish. That's like one of the very first things you learn when studying poker at low stakes....
