The ground was not sold to solve financial problems. It was sold at huge profit by the owners. There were other options open to the club to solve the financial issues, the owners wanted to make a quick buck and destroy the club.
dick knight saved the club, marketing genuis see his portfolio. Tony stepped in once we were granted permission to build the ground. I dont think the council thought we could afford it but didnt bank on Tony taking over.

they're a bit like leicester and reading.fulham have shown that even the lower sides are testing teams like liverpool,arsenal and man city at times.it's hard to believe,i don't recall brighton winning a major trophy in my lifetime.that is extraordinary!they play superb crisp passing football down there!
