I feel like this needs to be said. In an interview Francis did afterwards, he mentioned he didn't really throw any power shots. And he did this to conserve energy and to be able to keep pace with Fury. He didn't want to gas and he wanted to last the whole time. So yes, he threw regular punches, and slightly harder punches. But he didn't throw Death Destroyer of Worlds.

My least favorite part about the whole thing is that Fury threw a fatal elbow, with malicious intent, to try to knockout Francis in an attempt to win a fight by cheating, because he was out of options... In any other sport, if you try to permanently injure someone by cheating, you get in trouble. Fury should have his boxing license revoked for at least 2 years for that elbow. (Just imagine if Francis threw a clean, intentional elbow, with full power, and if Fury had been knocked out cold. They would never let Franics box again.) Francis should refuse to face Fury again.

Very well said, and you actually understand. I've been saying this all along, and I predicted that Francis would knock down Fury and win the fight by knockout. I've been following Francis's career in the UFC since the beginning, and if you listen to his interviews, it's obvious that he's a very wise and very thoughtful person (not a brute at all). This is why I am so angry about the UFC ruining their relationship with Francis. So think... Now the PFL has Francis (who has become a huge star after leaving the UFC) and so in retrospect, him leaving the UFC and going to PFL, is a worst case scenario for the UFC.

Fury couldn't hurt him - and his fall back - out muscling guys in the clinch didn't work either (which was obvious in hindsight) - I mean at one point Francis had Tyson in a Muay Thai plum and Tyson just didn't know how to break it. Tyson might have good clinch game for boxing but in the larger context of fighting he's a beginner and it showed. Francis moved him around easily with technique as much as strength. Clinch domination is a massive part of the MMA game and Tyson just didn't respect that or simply didn't understand.

@@christsetVictim much? I also thought Francis deserved the win, but he woulf have had to spark him out to get the win. It was an exhibition match, with the undisputed heavyweight being fought for by Usyk and Fury which the Saudis are paying big $$$ for. As usual money talks

When Usman was asking Francis where he got his calm from, all I could think of was the chorus from Faithless’ ‘Take The Long Way Home’. That song may as well have been penned for Francis.

@@inkognito3145True, but he still gave Francis that "Chance" he made it possible for Francis to prove Dana and a while lot of naysayers wrong, which to me is a huge deal. I don't care for Fury and I've always thought he was overrated but making this fight with Ngannou made me respect him a little more. Africa will always be grateful to Tyson for making Francis realize his dreams, display his potential and showcase his talent on a global scale.

The reason for Francis to be so humble is he is that kind of anime character who stands on the tallest point of the world and looks down at the horizon knowing there is no man who can come in front of his eyes and make him even feel uncomfortable. People who know they can take head off Hercules with one punch don't need to act tough.
