Have you ever heard of Scalextric cars made in Spain? Certainly the most beautiful (by far) made from 1965 to 1992. In any case, the documentary deserves more images of cars in action and fewer comments. For that watch my videos!

I searched for this after seeing an item on BBC south because from approx.1961-1963 I was employed as the Secretary to the Managing Director Mr Badcock at Minimodels at Leigh Park, Havant. Very interesting and brought back memories of the time I spent thereI left in November 1963 as I was expecting our first baby in February 1964. I am now almost 80 but think this was a good time.

I'm glad you enjoyed it, I have uploaded a number of other documentaries about Scalextric you might want to have a look at. The oldest is kzread.info/dash/bejne/poqOw5WgpNO6k9I.html and was filmed in 1988. It covers a lot of the early days.

I also remember being one of the few privileged staff members being allowed to enter the Development Dept where all the new possibilities were experimented with. I remember one day a Classic Bentley coming from the Museum at Beaulieu for photographing and measuring in great detail by the Experimental Dept., ready for a Bentley being produced in their workshop.

I know!!....not to mention, "it's but crap init?"..."this is crap"...that looks crap"....the two guys should have told him to get out!....i was enjoying listening to them talking about the cars etc..

The sad thing was if you went to a certain public house in Leigh Park on a Friday night you could place your order and collect it the following Friday and it would be half price compared to the shops.

EPs would not have played on wind up gramophone and Dansette and other three-and-four speed record players (78 rpm, 45 rpm, 33 1/3 rpm and, for a short while 16 2/3 rpm) were powered off the mains.

Couldn't they find a presenter who can say Scalextric properly?

So are they still being made by the British? I'm on a ban of Chinese made products.

I wonder why steve berry wasn't asked to stay at top gear?????

Commentator needs to shut up and let question be answered.

The presenter is far too overpowering and ultimately very irritating to fully enjoy this video.

I noticed that right away. Would’ve been nice to hear what he had to say without the presenter interrupting him constantly. Too bad really.

Not a bad video , just ruined by the bloody plonker asking the price of everything all the time.

Their accents are too heavy. Could only understand 3 out of every 5 words
