I used that saw as configured on the rolling stand in FOB Frontenac 2011. When I got home, I bought my own. Love that table saw.

I built a full sized carriage and outfeed table for this saw, and it makes a pretty damn good "cabinet" saw, in that setup. No complaints after almost 2 years of use in the shop, building counters, cabinets, and other furniture projects 👍

I have just bought the DWE74582 the little instruction book is difficult to comprehend when you aren't familiar with the machine. Your video showed me everything I needed to know and made me aware of things I didn't even know existed. Brilliant and thank you so much. I have now gained in confidence.

Hey Mike. I like your comparison and thorough walk through videos. I had the 8 ¼" Dewalt job site saw (DWE7485) for a week or two when this model went on sale at the big box store for $550. I returned it and bought the 10" DWE7491RS. I found your video very useful for some of the adjustments and tidbits. Interesting - I did the exact opposite - got rid of the 10” in favour of the 8” for the portability. I have found the 8” cordless version to be so convenient to toss on a pair of sawhorses and store on a shelf. But that said I do have a track saw for sheet goods and a 3hp Unisaw for the shop.

I inherited a large contractor table saw that I never used because it was big, intimidating, and stored in a corner of my garage I couldn’t work around. I gave it away after years of collecting dust. Enter the DeWalt 10” job site table saw: I love this thing! The portability means I can easily move it into a position and setup a temporary workspace, then put it away without it taking up a large footprint. It feels SOLID. Also, being able to watch KZread videos like this made me feel comfortable learning about all the different parts of the table saw (there weren’t any available specific for my 1970s contractor saw). It’s just a very convenient table saw for a homeowner to use. If I had a dedicated wood shop, I’d probably use something else. This is perfect for me.

Thanks for making this. I just bought this one after burning out a harbor freight tablesaw. I put it together and was just like, "woah" as there was a lot more to this. This is exactly what I needed to understand all the features. I never watch video's this long, but it was really well done, engaging and informative. I bought this saw 4 yrs ago. It will do everything I ask of it BUT cut accurate crosscut with that miter guage. I replaced it with an Incra brand...and..something not commonly known, I cut a strip the actual width of the miter slot and sanded the bottom flat. No more issues. It does everything I ask of it now with zero problems. I have a small shop, so the ability to fold it up and store it against a wall is a big plus! Thanks for the review. You did a fantastic job!

I've had this saw for over 4 years in my garage workshop and it has performed very well. Combine it with a good blade, a decent outfeed table, a crosscut sled, and a few jigs and it will handle almost anything. The only downtime I experienced with this saw was a failure of the blade raising mechanism. There is a threaded steel rod that threads into an aluminum motor mount which lowers or raises the saw when you rotate the spindle. They probably use aluminum for that part to keep the weight down. After about 3 years of use the threads in the aluminum motor mount stripped and the entire mount needed to be replaced. The repair shop indicated that this problem was fairly common with a lot of job site saws and not specific to Dewalt. My advice is keep that mechanism well lubed, with a dry lube preferably and any sign that the mechanism isn't working smoothly lube it again.

Also there is a non threaded rod on the other side. That also needs to be lubed at the same time otherwise it will bind.

I am a bit late here, but just picked one of these up today. I was very close to buying the Skil, but this Dewalt went on sale for $550 and I splurged a bit. This video is so helpful. New subscriber here! FYI, the miter gauge is no longer plastic. The one I purchased today came with an all metal miter gauge with the Dewalt logo and actually seems decent.

I have an old jobsite table saw from Dewalt. I used it for years and still performs like the day I bought it. A good table saw indeed.

JAN 2024, I just bought this saw and put it together today and I guess if it works great you don't have to change much, because the saw I put together today (new out of the box) looks just like the one in your video. I did have to pause the video and run outside to look at the miter gauge, I don't think the one on this saw is the original or at least they have greatly improved the one that comes with the saw now. Also behind the fence is a holder for a push stick that came with the saw. I have not turned mine on yet, but I can't wait to use it! It's an upgrade for me, from the little table saw that my brother gave me years ago. So, after watching this great video on the ins and outs of this saw, I'm ready to make something! Thanks.

I found two adjustments off--thank you for this video! Note the DeWalt DWE7491 now comes with a metal miter gauge. Much nicer than the plastic one shown in this video (and your comparison video that ultimately made me choose the DeWalt).

Had mine for a couple of years now. My only complaint is the accuracy and operation of the blade tilt operation. Once set up accurately it’s a joy to use . Love the fence system and store for the prong stick. So important to align the blade with the miter slots and then set the fence to align with the slot and blade. I bought an accurate mitre gauge and a range of saw blades for different applications. Definitely recommend it.

I have had this saw for over 5 years now. Great saw! I make cabinets and do high end trim with it. Fence is sturdy never needs adjustments. Motor is more then powerful enough IF you use the right blades for your job. Ex. Ripping I use a thin kerf ripper. All else I use 60+ tooth combo blades. I dado with it as well. Spins up an 8" dado set no problems! I would highly recommend using your compressor to blow out the bottom of the saw and fence rails after all jobs. Then give all adjusting gears on the bottom a good spray with dry lube. You will be very happy you did. The miter gauge supplied is useless for me. I make a ton of jigs for the saw to accomplish everything I need.I hook up my shop vac directly to the dust port and use a dual pluging switch and it works great. My only complaint. And this is minor! The switch recently went on me. I replaced it with a simple 20amp rated light switch and a chrome cover plate using the same internal box to mount it. Came out as a nice clean looking install. And works great! This saw owes me nothing! I have owned a mini max sc3 slider and had to down size. I went cheap and bought the Ridgid equivalent to this saw. Went threw 2 of those garbage saws in less then a year. Got the last one warrantied and sold it asap. Then bought the dewalt, money well spent. Highly recommend.

If you drop the 2 legs to ground by handle 1st, you can grab frame on other end lift and drop other 2 legs. I find it easier and puts less strain on the 2 legs when you flip the entire unit around. Thanks for the content!

My fourth table saw, and probably my last. Downsized a few years back without giving up a thing. With a 12" sliding miter companion my cutting needs are pretty well handled.

I just got one of these, they upgraded the miter gauge to metal and have a different mounting system for storing the blade guard. The miter gauge track still has a little slop in it; I've seen others cover the rail on the gauge with painters tape to keep it more snug.

I have an original 744 that’s about 24 years old. Still runs but it’s noisy, bogs down often (push slowly), likely needs new motor. It’s mounted to another Dewalt aftermarket rolling stand that is excellent. Stand is easy to manipulate, soft solid wheels, easy to open and break down and has almost no movement when saw in use. Love that stand. I’m looking at this saw above which has more RPMs, larger rip cuts, and useable options. My old Dewalt miter gauge is all metal and it’s accurate enough for a job site saw. I use my old Incra miter gauge. That Delta contractor saw isn’t really portable so it’s gonna be better. I need to bring a saw to a job occasionally so the Dewalt makes sense for me. Demonstrating how to square and check flatness is very helpful! Thanks for a good review! 👍

I still have that DeWALT and I’ve used it many times over the last 6 months. I think it still deserve the praise now that I’ve had it for a while. It’s going back to its owner tomorrow so we’ll get a different DeWALT to check out soon. Thanks for watching!

One adjustment to the fence that I found out after struggling with some rips - is the fence can be out as much as a 1/4 inch because the grommets holding the fence to the rack and pinion rails can be terribly misaligned right out the box of a new saw. So when you line your fence up and if it is not in line with the bevel loosen the grommets on each side of the fence with an allen wrench square it up - then check the length reading with a tape measure and you may have to go back and forth to get it right so the rule on the machine is accurate again with the fence straightened out. You will have to check all 3 positions. THis is CRITICAL to get a straight rip without bending the blade eventually. you would think the factory would have this set correctly on a new machine. Thanks for all the other settings descriptions.

I have this saw and it’s my first table saw. I bought it cause I still wanted to park my car in the garage. It does bog down a little bit when cutting thicker material, but it’s not where I don’t feel safe making the cut. My only complaint is that the table top has little dips and valleys (it’s not flat). I found it impossible to find out if it the blade was truly at 90 degrees with a digital angle finder cause I didn’t have a flat table to reference from. I made a sled for it though and it seems to have fixed that problem, also makes the table top a little bigger. Overall I love this saw and it’s really helped me with projects around the house. I did recently start saving for a bigger 3hp sawstop as I’m now looking for more precision. Thanks for showing how to make all those adjustments, this is the only video I’ve seen that shows that. I’ll save and reference for later.

No is all worked normal except for the riving knife adjustment. All the holes were jammed with sawdust to the point I thought I’d strip the bolts. Everything else was spot on.

Your see was defective. I have bought no less than 50 table saws over the past 20 years, and I've never experienced "dips and valleys." I've experienced other inconsistencies, but not a table that wasn't flat. Flat being relative, but flat enough for a portable table saw. Get it replaced under warranty.

BLUF: THANK YOU Bought this, read the instruction manual, put it together, and it is still REALLY unclear where the Miter Gauge stowage location was, where the blade replacement wrench stowage location was, and finally where the blade guard stowage location was. This was the most helpful aspect of your video for a new purchaser. Thank you again!

I bought this saw for a job I've been on over the past year. It's amazing how not one thing is has changed from the saw in the video to my saw, ten years later. Sometimes things are just good. The miter gauge hasn't left its slot. I use a track saw for anything other than rips. Everything was calibrated, I may give it a once over for cabinetry. Other than that, you can't argue with what comes out of the box.

I like the quick-release side cover on the blade shroud. Great for when I drop the blade nut into the shroud. On my DW745 I have to go fishing for the nut!

This is, in my opinion the best table saw for an onsite carpenter, or someone who only wants to buy one table saw and also be able to bring it on site easily. The Metabo c10rjs and Skil Ts6307-00 are great, cheaper alternatives (currently own the skil and had the metabo but sold it for the Skil due to the Metabo not fitting well in my vehicle). While both are great saws, the Dewalt is nicer, but it is also significantly more. For someone looking for a shop saw I would say your delta looks to be the best for the money. I will be buying the delta for my shop, keeping my Skil for the field, your reviews have been a huge help on my decision. Thank you.

Hello Michael! I’ve been eyeballing that Skil saw but it’s really my goal to review everything eventually. The DeWALT is really good and tough to imagine a better job saw. Most of my very minor complaints with it would be plastics used but I’m sure that has more to do with weight savings than cost cutting. Very happy I was able to help! Thanks for watching!

I own this saw, and the smaller one that takes the 8 1/4" blade. I'm a carpenter/contractor working on mostly exterior projects. We do a lot of custom joinery and mill/router all of our own trim sizes and detail pieces. On top of that I'm remodeling our home. I see no reason to own anything else. Maybe if I was building cabinets and cutting 4x8 sheets all the time I might consider a permanent shop table saw but I see no reason to waste the space on that. For the record, I'm a Milwaukee fan boy, I've purchased(and returned) about every brand of portable table saw. The DeWalt jobsite table saws are the best(in my opinion). I learned carpentry from rough framing I'll tell you the number one thing that was yelled at me was this: "We're not building Fing pianos out here"... The thing is this, the really really nice tools are a nice to do for 99% of projects. You don't need the absolute best tools out there to do your work. When you look at some really nice carpentry work, do you think "I wonder if they used Makita or DeWalt on that one?" Does it do the job you need it to do? That's it.

I own this saw and have since it first same put and think it’s great; it isn’t a crazy big fence though, it only goes right to 33 odd inches. This will run a dado stack and adds some easy mobility. I’ve have added table extensions both left and other and even installed a router insert; the stand still carry’s it well and is still very stable. This saw is quite well motored and can easily get to 14-18 Amps at 125 Volts while cutting equating to just under 2 HP. This runs nice on a 20 Amp breaker but will readily trip a 15 Amp breaker under load. You can flip the bottom legs up and down with your feet so you font have to bend down.

Thanks for this review. I’ve owned the saw for years and it meets my needs. I did get an aftermarket miter fence to make crosscuts. At 15:22 you discuss adjusting the fence vertically square to the table. It can be done but not really engineered to do so. The aluminum section is held to the plastic end pieces with screws that are torqued very tightly and possibly held with Loctite. If one can remove these screws, the aluminum section can be shimmed to get the fence vertical. I had to do this. Another solution is to add an auxiliary fence and shim the auxiliary fence. The cut where it was most apparent was when resawing a board when the board was wide enough to require flipping it over to complete the cut. It would leave a slight ridge in the middle.

Thanks for the excellent review. I've been using the older brother, the DW745 for many years. Love that saw, and it just keeps going and going. As for rip capacity, it's never been an issue for me. I track saw sheet goods down to 16 inches or so, and then they can be run through the DeWalt pretty easily and safely, especially when used with a shop-built outfeed table. And you're right; the miter gauge is a joke.

This is the saw I used when I started my woodworking journey. I also used it for the occasional handyman job and it served itself well until it died after less than three years. I changed the brushes, switches among many other things and it wouldn't turn on. I would advise anyone to see if there is a repair facility in your area if you can't repair it yourself. I found out I didn't have one that was within 50 miles of my house. I ended up putting it on the side of the road and got a Jet 3hp saw and couldn't be happier

Did you test for power at the switch, the power cord or some terminal might have a short

You do have to spend some time setting the saw up... blade, fence, etc. But once done, the saw is great. Fairly compact which is Nice kzread.infoUgkxXh-4_3-ZT1fFWP91ZV7iVqzElr0lEb-a I did get an Incra Miter Gauge which takes some setup as well. The stock miter gauge can be adjusted in the miter slot with a little painter's tape... this tightens up the side to side play a lot.

I've got the 10" wormdrive jobsite saw and it never goes anywhere. I love the thing, but my 8 1/4 Flexvolt Dewalt is what I use on site. It's so easy to transport. Plus, for some stuff I can get away with using 7 1/4 on it (like flooring the other day) and save money that way plus the 8 1/4 blades are way cheaper to begin with. The corded version was 450 I believe, but I got the fast charger, 6AH battery, blade and a few other little things for $550. Totally worth it. And if you have the 9AH battery that's what I've been using and it lasts over a day. Then again, I'm cutting flooring. Great video, totally agree. New sub here.

I've had this saw 3 months , purchased from FFX UK for a bargain £475 including stand. I procrastinated for a long time before buying. Now I love it. Its so easy to use. Its reduced time on the job significantly, and gives very good accurate cuts. Dust extraction is essential. It is very quiet. With the wheeled trolley, it gets stored away effortlessly.

Nice review of the 7491. I totally agree on the miter gauge it is junk. But since the slots are standard you can put in a quality aftermarket gauge on it, if you are doing projects that need it. My riving knife was actually bent slightly from the manufacturing stamping process so I had to flatten it on my anvil. I've used this saw for years i wish you could get a full kerf riving knife for it though. So I run a forest blade stabilizer on the nut side of the arbor and I can get glue quality rips with a freud glue line ripping blade. I've run a stacked dado set on it and it had plenty of power for a 1/2" wide x 3/4" deep dado cut in hard maple. I feel uncomfortable though, running the dado because of the direct drive gearing and the sudden start of the heavy stack. That said I haven't had an issue yet. I do have a contractor saw with an iron table and a belt drive so if I'm in the shop I run the stack on that. But the portability, versatility and stability of the 7491 in my opinion is unparalleled. If I need to cross cut at the job site I use my dual bevel 12" compound slider or the Skilsaw. In my opinion though you made too many comparisons to your delta contractor saw so it wasn't apples to apples comparisons. Also for a jobsite saw .004 bend or warp in the fence is pretty amazing really considering these jobsite saws are generally used for rougher construction. every build I've been on when it comes to high end trim work the trim carpenters brings their cabinet saw. I didn't like the fact that the saw didn't have on board blade storage so I put a panel with a 1/2" carriage bolt and a wing nut on the foot of the dolly of the rolling stand using tec screws. I have stopped the motor on the saw and blown the breaker I had a piece of 8/4 hard maple that bound and stalled the saw despite the riving knife. However, I was able to shim it open and complete the cut. Have you ever done a video on proper extension cords? Up to 15 feet I'll run a 14 gauge over that I go to 12 gauge up to 25 feet, then beyond 25 feet I run a 10 gauge. If I'm over 50 feet I'm not happy running 10 but 10 is what I have, and then I am particular about how I use the saw being sure not to crowd it or overheat it. The gauge and the length choke the volts and amps underpowering your saw and possibly damaging the motor permanently. Also there is a difference in the volt/amp capacity of solid conductors vs woven conductors. Solid conductors having a higher capacity.

My wife and I are starting on the reno on the house we just bought. I'm looking at these saws because I have no desire to become a full-time woodworker, but I'm not sure my circular saw can do everything I might need to do. At the same time, the circular saw and a couple of the Kreg gizmos look like they could do about everything while taking up a tenth as much space as even these little tablesaws.

Hello! Congrats on the new house! Years ago I did residential remodeling in high end suburbs of Chicago. The contractor I worked for might have owned a table saw but I never saw it if he did. We did everything by hand with a circular saw. Everything. No gizmos. But I had him to teach me the techniques to work efficiently and safely with limited tools. If you are new to all this I recommend you buy a table saw and learn how to use it effectively and safely. Obviously I don’t know the projects your planning but as general advise it’s easier to rip boards on a table saw than by hand. There’s a never ending supply of cool gizmos out there aimed at costing you time and money. Some are worth it but most are for the hobbyist. If your planning on learning carpentry from videos focus on the older guys who teach safe techniques with basic tools. I have a $350 Skil table saw in the shop now I’m half way through filming. It has similar features to this DeWALT and the legs fold to fit on a shelf. Keep an eye out for that vid in a week or so it looks promising. I hope this helps. Please feel free to post any questions. @ProjectsForAllVideos The only really big project I have planned is kitchen cabinets. Granted, that's a pretty big project. My biggest limiting factor is workspace. The garage is packed with stuff, the driveway isn't level, no available rooms in the house. I figure a lot of things will have to be built in place. It promises to be entertaining.

Mike, two days ago I received shipment of a new DeWalt DWE7491X, the one with the scissors stand. The difference is inconsequential for the saw itself, of course, and that's the point: your video showing all of the adjustment points on the saw is the most valuable reference I could have as I start checking out the accuracy of the saw. It arrived with no sign of rough handling or the slightest bit of damage, but I assume it's going to need some adjustment after its series of flights from southern California to Seattle, to Anchorage, and finally to Osaka, Japan, and from there by truck freight over three mountain ranges to my home way out on the southernmost coast of Honshu. I’ve had this saw for 5 years now. Overall I really like it. It’s very accurate and I love the rack and pinion fence. Overall the saw has pretty good power but cutting 2” walnut will bog the motor down. The things I don’t like about is are: 1. Small table size. I ended up making an extension that helps somewhat but… 2. I HATE the vibration. I really wanted the delta saw you have but, at the time, I needed to have the portability of the Dewalt. 3. Related to table size, I don’t like the small infeed size (distance between tabletop front and the blade. There are some work arounds I’ve found but… Having said all that, I do like the saw a lot and it remains the workhorse in my shop. Great review! 👍🏻✅

Once i noticed the motor on my 745 staining a bit when ripping about 20-24" of 8/4 cherry and walnut for an end table. I was operating with the blade gullet just clear the surface of the wood and decided that the blade would have more downward leverage (and run cooler) if I raised it up to 3" which is near the full height. Sure enough it began to cut with greater ease--even on hard maple. About the only thing that seems to bind it for me now is a 2x4 with a lot of internal stresses within. If I experience one of those I just put it aside for some other use as it's not worth risking a kickback or damaging the saw for such a cheap piece of wood... So many comments about the crap miter gauge. I've bought many good quality bicycles in my life and they invariably all come with a crappy seat. It's expected that a rider will have a particular notion about what seat they want to use so the sellers figure the stock seat will be immediately junked by just about everyone so that's it's not worth supplying a more costly seat. I suspect the miter gauge is sort of the same--I rarely use the miter gauge for the way I work so it's no biggie to me--certainly not worth harping about when reviewing these saws. I wouldn't had been worth it for me to pay extra for a "nice" gauge that isn't really important to me.

Just bought this model saw. Absolutely great information and set-up techniques. Will refer to this as needed. Well Done !

I bought one of these about 3 years ago for my home workshop, and have totally loved it. The later made model I have comes with T style miter slots rather than the straight style that is on that one. I remember that I was prepared to spend time tuning it up when I opened it, but didn’t have to do a thing, it was completely dead on right out of the box. I’ve used the heck out of it for everything from small projects, to 2X construction lumber without a single hitch, and love that it can take a full dado stack. I don't have a single regret about buying this saw!! Only change I made was replacing the stock inserts with zero clearance

I bought this 2 weeks ago. The only problem I have with it, is the fence is tilted in at the top. I could have dealt with it, if the fence tilted out at the top. Now I have to shim up the bottom of the fence, to bring out the bottom of the fence, to square it to 90 degrees.

I've just had too many of the Dewalt rack and pinion fences jam up with sawdust. I always liked the Bosch fence setup better. Now Ive moved to the Sawstop Jobsite Pro and absolutely love it.

@@ProjectsForAllReviews If at all possible review the Skill-saw SPT99-11 which is in this cat. I chose it over the Dewalt mainly because of the fence it seemed a little heavier and has T-Slots built into the front and top of the fence which is nice for attaching stops and axillary fences to the main fence.

I have this saw. My first table saw. I like it. It’s accurate and powerful for 3/4” materials. With a good calibration it’s only real holdup is the size of its top.

I really liked this saw Richard but I agree the table feels short to feed. There’s always concessions when portability is involved. You got a pretty great saw for your first one! My first saw was a $125 blue Ryobi with a fence that didn’t lock. Thankfully it wasn’t powerful enough to kick back too hard. Thanks for watching!

Spot on review. I have the Hitachi clone of this saw. It's an unbelievable jobsite saw and a servicable woodworking tool. I put a rip blade on the thing and it does everything you could want. The 48" rip capacity is fantastic. I completely agree that had I bought this first I couldn't justify buying a contractor saw.... But I'm glad I have one.

The a Hitachi tested better then this dewalt. The Hitachi has a more powerful motor and the fencing system is better. This dewalt has tons of issues with it. Not very good quality.

@@scraplifetrashtocash4551 Interesting. I didn't know that. Looks like i'm even smarter than i thought :) I tend to give Dewalt credit for developing this class of saw. (Maybe I'm wrong about that as well) To my memory they were the first to make a really good job site saw, with the rack and pinion fence and built-in rolling stand. I recall coveting that saw for a decade or so and finally had an excuse to buy one of that class and chose the hitachi. I got real lucky on the timing and only paid $350 for the saw.

Great review as always! I’ve watched many if not all of your videos and they’re some of my favorites on KZread for their simple yet thorough descriptions and details. So, I’m in the market for a new saw and I’ve been eyeing the Delta, Rigid and DeWalt saws that you’ve reviewed. Obviously, based on your video, you wouldn’t recommend the Rigid. But assuming space / portability aren’t an issue, would you recommend this dewalt or the delta? You say in your video that you wouldn’t go back to a jobsite size, but you also had concerns about some leveling and bowing issues on your delta. So, your opinion holds a lot of weight with me. Thanks for making all of these reviews.

Thank you David! I spent a few weeks working on the DeWALT and it’s really good. Back in my blue Ryobi days I could only dream of having a setup that nice. The DeWALT does everything well but because it’s portable it just can’t weigh 200 lbs or be 27 in deep and that’s where the Delta passes it by. That size and stability really makes a larger saw a joy to use. Also the noise level is shocking on the job saw, been a few years since I used one. Didn’t realize how spoiled I’d become. If you need to travel I couldn’t recommend the DeWALT enough. If you don’t do yourself a favor and get the Delta or something full size. As far as the imperfection go I wouldn’t worry about it unless your making heirloom quality furniture. Let us know what you end up getting and hit me back if you have any other questions!

I have this saw and love it!! Being able to fold it up and store it away is great and when I need to work on my parents house I just roll it into the van and fast setup on the job site. The fence gearing is awesome for keeping the fence parallel to the blade, used to have a saw where the fence just clamped on one end and the fence was never parallel, what a pain. Great review.

I had the Delta saw in the background, it had the same issue. Both ends of the fence were never the same. I had to push the other end to make it square, which was a pain. The Delta was a smooth saw, but that issue will keep me from buying it again. I'm going with the DeWalt instead.

I've been looking at table saws to use on my home renovation. So many out there. After watching your reviews of the different table saws I'm confident in buying that DeWalt saw. Nice reviews love them all. Watch out for that orange cat lol

I've had this exact model for almost two years and it still feels and acts like it did the day I got it out of the box. It's without doubt one of my favorite purchases in woodworking.

I put my on a 10 foot ripping table and used it like a shop saw for years. I'm in my second motor and wouldn't think about ever replacing it.

I skimmed the comments and didn't see this but you can use your foot to flip up and down the bottom legs. Makes it easy so you don't have to bend down to do them.

Great video! I wonder if anyone here has a better saw than this? The winner in my book! Love that Seiko watch! SRPB99K1 is one of my favorite Pepsis.

The features, durability and accuracy of this saw is why it’s better than the competition. Spend the extra money and buy this saw.

I have one of these and it’s great! It accepts a full size 8” dado, although barely. For a portable saw it’s about all you could ask for

I had the version before this saw on my old job. Used to call my own little Volvo. My lord was it good for the size and prize. Personally i enjoyed the folding metal feet for stability use on a jobsite, but for garage/personal use i'd take this one i reckon. Only "issue" i had was sawdust getting some places so stopped the tilt and rise, but 5mins of cleaning and all good again. The poor baby sadly burned out when one of my workmates cut down soaking wet 2x8 and the wet sawdust just couldn't escape and clogged everything. My favorite tablesaw of all times with over 20 years in construction. Might get this one once my Festool dies

I’ve heard a few stories now about dust clogging the lift mechanism with these Dewalts. I personally haven’t experienced it but I also don’t spend a whole work day sawing either. Thanks for watching!

Excellent video - like the one you did on the Skil portable table saw. I wonder if the new version of this DeWalt has height adjustment on the legs? On the crosscut guide - maybe get a second one, and take the 2 rails and make a crosscut box?

I had two Ryobi saws, they trash. Where the first one(a old hand-me-down) had small springs to help the blade raising mechanism to get back up, the new one didn't. Which made the crank break fast. The DeWalt here not only has a rack & pinion to raise/lower the blade... it is METAL as well. Really sturdy little saw with a good build quality. This thing only makes me want to go out of my way to buy DeWalt stuff for most of my tools! My DeWalt came with a all metal miter gauge. I would have bought that small one of Delta Contractor saw, but I heard it struggles on a 15amp plug. That was my main reason for grabbing the DeWalt here. Nice review!

Hello Bizarro! I do not miss my old Ryobi job saw. It really was junk. I’ve read the reviews on the Delta job saw and they aren’t promising but I’ll get one to test eventually. My Delta contractor is on a 20amp circuit and it’s pretty strong with no struggling. Thanks for watching!

@@ProjectsForAllReviews Yeah I originally read that Delta Tablesaw has issues, where the motor burns out. So many people brought it back. This made me weary to buy one, or that Rigid lookalike-in-orange. Then I read, the motor can/will burn out if you run it on a 15amp outlet, not a 20amp one. So yeah that buried the Delta for me. If I need to upgrade my power outlet in my garage I'd rather build a 220volt one in, for the big boy toys... not just a 20amp one.😁

Makes sense. When I built the garage I installed a 100 amp panel. There’s 2 50amp circuits on either side for the welder and a 30amp for the heater also about 60 outlets on 20 amp circuits. Went a little crazy because my old garage electric was so bad I couldn’t run my small compressor. All that said I went with the Delta over a 220v model because I didn’t really see the advantage. I believe the motor runs cooler and possibly lasts longer but I rarely run the saw for hours on end.

@@ProjectsForAllReviews Honestly, "Went a little crazy"... if you plan to do some work, Metal or Wood, and you want "room upwards" you can't get crazy enough with energy possibility. If you have the space and maybe a chance to make money the only thing holding you back to get a real big machine is the electricity. Welding. I keep see people on KZread weld and I would like to try it as well. Not structural stuff just small things, but I am not so sure if I not burn out the cables in my wall and so far I not found anyone I can trust that told me its fine.

I’ve watched two of your review videos and they are really well done and informative. You’re pretty thorough but I have yet to see you check the tables for flatness which is as important as fence and miter slot alignment to the blade.

I like the saw, but 10 years old, well he didn't use it much. It has multiple features over my 1988 Makita however what yours has, I've always like most found a way to make it so. Interesting, and well presented, thank you...........lucky you.

The toggles on the bottom legs are actually designed to be operated with your foot. So you don't have to bend over to collapse or extend the lower legs. That's why they toggle differently than the top legs.

You did a nice review. I bought the same saw a few years ago, and the first thing I did w buy an Incra miter gauge. It is a great saw for my shared car / garage workshop.

I did a lot of research before buying this saw. One of the main concerns was the size of available space in my garage. The rule in my garage, is that at night, both vehicles shall be put in the garage. I have to break down my shop and return it to a garage. Helps to have a Ron Paulk work bench. A full-sized table saw would take up too much space. I have found that the levers for the bottom legs to extend or close the legs can be easily worked with your foot. You don't have to bend over to extend or retract the legs.

Great and helpful review!👍 I was just checking this saw out this evening at the ‘box store’. I realize it’s the ‘demo’, but I was curious…from the operator side, front right, behind the panel; there’s a a duel kickback pawl attached. Maybe should have been part of the blade guard?…which I don’t use anyhow.

The best tool review I've ever watched. I'm sold. My only question is - what kind of throat plate is available for a stacked dado blade?

Great jobsite saw... I end up using it more than my ancient Delta Unisaw cabinet saw for a lot of projects since I can move it outside.

I love my Dewalt jobsite saw I would recommend it to anyone who needs a tablesaw

Nice review. The test I have found is to rip a 2x4 standing on end. Your cutting 3 1/2" deep. I seem to do this a fair amount. I have this little Kobalt job site saw and it does it very well. That's about the only thing it does well, but it does it. Looking to replace it now.

I’ve got my eye on those Skil table saws. We’ll get them in the shop for review eventually.

Keep in mind that this is a construction job site saw. This is not a precision furniture building saw. I have this DeWalt saw, and it's been a great tool for me. I've built many of houses with this saw. Toss it in the back of my truck, and it keeps its zero Everytime. I only had to make a couple small adjustments when I bought it. Haven't had to mess with it for over 7 months. It wouldn't be my choice if I was doing precision woodworking though.

Have had that saw for 5 years without any problems. The fence is my biggest complaint, it is thin sheet metal and I'm afraid to clamp anything to it just like on this one it won't hold up to it. The other thing I wished it had was a crank tilt mechanism. The miter can be ungraded so that's not such a big deal, but they did short change this machine.Though about stuffing fence but haven't figured out with what, afraid wood would swell with moisture. I bought so it can be put out of the way when not needed but still a pretty decent tool.

I think most of these job saws have pretty flimsy fences. Designed to be light weight and portable over robust. Interesting idea to stuff it. Square steel tube or stacked sheets of acrylic or something. Thanks for watching!

I have been using this saw on the weekends to do stuff. Everything from precise to rough to dados with dado stacks. It is very capable. I do change the blade often to match what I am cutting. In doing so no trouble with tearout, stalling, burning… You are correct it tries to be everything. It cuts well. Everything was aligned out of the box. Used the wide fence a couple times realized it is a nice feature but better and safer to breakdown sheet goods with a circular saw. I am very happy since I do the pop up shop on the weekends thing. The rolling stand is fantastic. Things to adjust. I noticed while making a cross cut sled that my miter slots had some slag on the sides from manufacturing. I used my 400 grit diamond stone to clear it in just a few passes. My throat plate is more flexy than the one shown here. I made a zero clearence. The riving knife is too long and I may clip the back in the future. The tabs for the adjustment screws hit are 1/2” from the top. That made making the throat plat without adjustment screws easy. I do my miter cuts on my miter saw. Knowing this is a job site saw I was not surprised at the miter gauge. However if you use something else to set the angle and attach a board to make it longer and run a little tape on the runner it is workable and repeatable. I threw out the push stick. After using a microjig Gripper everything else seems unsafe. I need to make a jig or two that straddle the fence. The auxilary fence may need some extra consideration. All my cons are really minor. Overall I think it’s great.

Hello Lincoln! First off I agree on cutting up sheet goods with the circular saw into slightly oversized pieces to then cut to correct size on the table saw. I do this with my contractor saw also.
