Thank you for this. I looked everywhere online when I was first sewing to learn how to cut. This is wonderful. ❤ Thank you

This was so helpful! Cutting into a large piece of fabric has been intimidating to me but this made it so easy! Thank you! 🙂

Interesting that you find the Olfa more ergonomic. I did not buy one BECAUSE you have to grip it to cut. If you're doing a lot of cutting, your hand would soon get tired and if you have arthritis, it would make it worse. I have the Clover one as it is much easier. So I don't find the Olfa ergonomic at all. The grip shape looks good but having to hold it in to cut would be a no from me. Interesting to know what people with arthritis think. Good videos though. Have just found you :)

Yes, I was avoiding these that you need to be holding the push button because I'm sure it would make my hypermobile hands hurt after a while, I get awful pains from using garden secateurs too. For my little hands, the other rotary that keeps the blade out all the time is the way to go, but I can see if you have little ones, like Suzi, they might not be the safest to have around ❤

I too don't use my cutting mat to measure, I rely on my rulers ❤

@@rebeccamulkern1051 The Olfa seems to be holding the handle in while you cut...? That's why I wouldn't buy it apart from the cost too! I don't have much arthritis especially; just getting older but if I grip for too long, my hands would hurt. I'm really happy with my Clover. I click blade out and cut then click it back before I put it down again. Every time.

@@rebeccamulkern1051 Yes, this seems to be a standard advice in all quilting information. Good that is uniform!
