What a lot of rubbish this video is. There appears to be absolutely nothing "sad" about Enya's story. She just chose to live privately and quietly, that's all. So, the title is pure click bait. The video is stretched out too. It repeats itself on several occasions. This channel represents the worst of KZread. Shame on this channel!

I had the immense oleasure of meeting Enya in July 2005, after she performed with her 4 sisters at their local church in Gweedore where her mother was choir mistress. Though photography of the sisters singing that day was not permitted, I have seen some on the internet. She is a stunningly beautiful woman, charming and very approachable. She kindly allowed me to take a photo of her. I was told that she did want to perform with Clannad when they re-formed for a one-off concert the following day, but her music company refused permission. When she performed with her sisters, I noticed that she came across as quite nervous, which may be a chicken and egg situation as to why she rarely performs in public, particularly as her recordings are so beautifully produced.

ClickBait.. Sad ? Nonsense.. she's a well-adjusted, extremely talented lady who for her own private reasons has decided not to let the conventions of modern life dictate her personal goals. I've little doubt that she'll fair better than many who've found themselves the subject of intense scrutiny and extreme, unanticipated wealth. A mark of above-average intelligence.

Pretty sure _Orinoco Flow_ was her breakthrough song. How do you manage to pronounce Clannad as _"Clar-nut"_ lol? That aside I always respected her. Even more so now that she has refused to get sucked into the vitriolic entity that is social media. And to understand in one's self how selfish it would be to have a child while you are perusing your own endeavors shows intelligence. Only make the sacrifice to have a child if you are willing to accept you will likely have to give up your dreams. A child needs parents (not a nanny) for 18 years and by then the world has probably moved on from you.

This video is quite disappointing. I clicked on it expecting to hear a thorough analysis of the current commercial and cultural environment, which may not be the best for the kind of music Enya makes to thrive (people are more focused right now on what could trend on TikTok or the songs aggressively promoted on Spotify rather than, you know, art); instead I got a robotic take on Enya's life choices. I don't find anything in this video "sad", in fact, I'd love to have her lifestyle. It's simply wrong to equate one's artistry with their fame or (lack of) vanity.

She is one of those icons of contemporary music whom I have greatly admire also for her sense of being very discreet and for sticking to her private live, which she guards very carefully. Clannad, Enya solo, others like, Lorena McKennett, Kate Bush, all very sucessful and away from the masses. Well done.

Enya did it her way, she does it her way, Sinatra would be proud. If a woman is empowered … she’s miserable? I think not! ♥️

she is still making music but at her own slow pace. Fans know this and do not mind waiting 5-10 years for an album. But she is still active. A new album will be coming soon

This isn’t sad at all … this is the way Enya has always been , out of the public spotlight, Something very few artists can do , I think this is actually commendable…” it’s the music that’s being dictated here “ as Enya would say. I think the singer has earned her right to live and do whatever she pleases 😉

❤🙏🏻👸🏽♥️ You know I do understand private life better than you think. That is one thing I wish I could go back to. What should grow up a certain way It keeps you from going forward, but that's okay.Because we simply can keep a pure lifestyle❤
