I feel like when Dante goes to cross the rubicon, he should be blessed with wings like sanguinious. A really reborn legend upon a legend. Almost like a proto-primarch in power.

Man, this is nerve wracking. The Devastation of Baal was what got me into building a Blood Angels army. And now seeing Dante being, for lack of a better term, human. Its honestly a shock. And I cannot wait to see how Dante and the imperium handle this.

He's going to be a BEAST once he survives the Primaris upgrade!

Dante is truly the greatest of the Blood Angels, perhaps even the greatest of the Astartes Even when wracked with pain and his body slowly breaking down he still carries on in the fight. He's breaking apart but still fights on all the same If that isn't a personification of humanity's own struggle to survive I don't know what is

He is greater than any who have ever served the emperor for he has struggled more than any and he is not given the option to do a heroic last stand or anything like that he must go on and do his duty no matter what and noone has ever been able to do that even the loyalist primarchs went off on personal crusades and left the imperium but Dante even when faced with just dying of old age does not go against what his chapter wants but instead simply goes on and carries the burden of living doing his duty.

Thoroughly enjoy the way Guy Haley writes for the 40K universe. Feels grittier, more developed and thought out. I like his understanding of military formations, terminology etc. Feels less "arcade" compared to other 40k writers.

Dante is greater than any primarch for he is mortal and carries a greater burden than any ever have not taking the emperors burden into count has its hard to measure has he is a god.

@@TheOnlyShanzz The Primaris were shoehornes in for practically no reason in 8th Edition. And their creator, Cawl, is an awful character. And they were ordered by Guilliman, and I have a, to put it mildly, deeply engrained mistrust of the Primarch who gutted the Legions. Also their armor, whilst getting better over time, looks more like Mass Effect than 40k. Too sleek and futuristic, not enough 41st (or 42nd) millennium. Oh, and their dreadnoughts look fucking awful.

i think a comparison has to be made between Warsmith Dantiok and Dante. Dantiok was an exiled iron warrior who had been aged thousands of years by the Huruds time warping influence he suffered from coughs that would leaving him gaging on the floor his hair was grey and his skin was wrinkled and had to walk with a cane it was so bad his condition momentarily held the wrath of pertarabo at bay. Space marries are not immoral Dantiok was brought to that point by unnatural means but Dante has taken the long way round but is starting to go through the same thing as dantiok.

Dante is a special, golden boy and he deserves more friends.

Dante : Too old to work, too angry to die.

Poor Dante. He is not pitiful, but his struggle is. Dante is tired, no one is as old as he and still yet fights. He is drowning under the weight of half a galaxy, and yet he drags himself to stand. Not even a primarch had this much responsibility during the darkest days of the Imperium, this is crushing him, and yet he still stands. The misery he must feel is tremendous and he has my respect for it. It's time for Russ and Jaggatai to get their asses out of the warp and get back to work and quit screwing around with the dark elder and demons for a little while. And jesus what the hell is Corax doing??? Is Guilliman crushing Dante with this burden because he wants to drag his brothers back from their vacations? Even Sanguinis's spirit manifested to help fight WAT are the other primarchs doing? Time to stop sipping beers in the warp and get to work.

For the record: Jaghatai Khan is lost in webway. Leman Russ well... Magnus knows where he is (I support the idea that he went to find cure for Emperor aka Isha's tears from Nurgle Garden). As for Corvus Corax I doubt he would ever appear back in Imperium of Mankind due to his mutations. I would truly want to give wake up call to Lion by slapping him in the face... As for Vulkan I wonder where he is?

There is just something about the combination of the music and Ro's voice that makes it so i could listen forever. Keep up the awesome videos :D

I love what he’s done with Dante and how he Bears this burden, much like his primarch, much like the Emperor. I want to see an honest moment between Yarrick and Dante, old man to old man, Yarrick become more and more machine and every extended year bearing down on him. “We are men of will, made to embrace but a sliver of the hardship that the master of man embraces ever moment of every day.” I’d like to see Dante ether diced before a champion and crit ally recover right before the 11th hour of a Khorne bloodbath (making it questionable whether the blood gods influence affected Dantes recovery from the Rubicon) Or have him fight Ka'Bandha and start having visions of Sanguinous striking the bloodthirster and start slipping into the black rage right before he dies vanquishing the demon. Then the apothecaries try The Rubicon primaries.

THOSE ARE THE THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS A HOMELESS PERSON A PISS POOR PERSON WHOULD FEEL!! WHOULD ASK THEMSELVES!!! JUST WHY??!! I personally am not poor or rich but I have a home a house with four walls a roof a basement and a bath with clear clean water to drink to bathe in fresh and clean food to eat and a clean comfy dirt free bed to sleep in I want for nothing for I have all I want or need yet I we always want more myself and others we take what we have for granted we all ways have for I never went hungry or thirsty I have always had the opportunity to get my food and drink that I still even take for granted for I will never not 10000% KNOW UNLESS I LIVE THAT HUNGER...THAT NEED TO DRINK TO TRULY SURVIVE I WE CAN NEVER FULLY KNOW WHAT THAT FEELS LIKE...TO KNOW THAT ONE MUST BE DYING OF THIRST OF HUNGER BUT CAN DO NOTHING EXCEPT TO DRINK AND EAT WHAT THEY CAN SPOILED AND DIRTY OR NOT JUST TO LIVE JUST TO SURVIVE TO SEE ANOTHER SUNRISE ONLY TO KEEP BEGGING FOR HELP THAT MORE OFTEN NEVER COMES....I want not for water or food for I have that I want not for a home for I have that....how much do we all really do to help people who need it...not enough I would think...how peaceful is this time we live really...I think we all already know the truth to that we just don’t say it not really the world wars are over and yet we still fight still kill each other for the same old reasons more power more money more fame more glory it’s never enough we don’t hear or feel the fighting the suffering the death the pain because we are are shielded by wealthy countries safe secure countries we don’t see the pain and if we do we do what is perfectly natural we look away becuse we don’t like feeling in pain we don’t like seeing pain or being in pain at all so we naturally avoid pain we avoid what hurts us...but by doing that by doing what’s natural we don’t help others or ourselves we don’t overcome our pain weather it’s physical or mental or emotional we just say I can’t or we do anything to not feel or confront that pain and we use anything we can to accomplish that goal be it drugs or alcohol or even hurting ourselves physically to get away from the mental and emotional pain we feel even if only for a moment a second of less pain to not feel the greater pain the REAL pain that hurts us. Nobody wants to feel any pain but we do and that will never change to feel pain is to know you are alive to feel pain is to live. Pain reminds us that we are alive and are hurt. Pain helps us emphasize with each other to be able to compare our pain with another persons pain to gain understanding and empathy to that person through our shard pain no matter how small or big of the pain we ourselves feel in comparison to there pain we at least can empathize with to some degree and we can use that empathy to help them with there pain as much as we possibly can why would we do that because we lived that pain and we know how much it hurts us so we help others to not feel the same pain we have felt and suffered because. To empathize with someone one must know what they are going through all of it the pain the hardship....the despair even. Empathy is a curse and a blessing for to know empathy is to know suffering and not many if Any of us want to feel pain and suffering ourselves but that is TRUE EMPATHY and sadly there is not much of us who can or want to help just out of the sense of right we can say anything words don’t help people they only soothe the pain they feel not take it away or really do much of anything only action can help anyone only by physically helping people can we make a TRUE DIFFERENCE that means when we see a homeless person WE DONT WALK BY THEM WE HELP THEM WE SHOW THEM THAT KINDNESS AND COMPASSION ARE NOT JUST WORDS BUT TRUTH!!! FOR THE EMPEROR, FOR SANGUINIUS!!!! Rip and tear Brothers

What I would like to see is this: he crosses the Rubicon but it's not enough for him to fully recover from aging (perhaps it only feels like he's a century or two younger) so he's losing all hope, the prophecy he's seen isn't near fruition and he's getting so old he's concerned he may not be able to fulfill it and the Primaris upgrade was his last hope for holding on. During and after the Rubicon procedure he sees more visions from Sanguinous of the future but he doesn't think they can be real, he thinks it is the result of drinking blood for memories and his old age. He starts edging closer and closer to falling to the Black Rage, he has to force himself not to drink any more blood than necessary all the while he starts wanting to drink the blood of all those around him more and more. At last he's giving up all hope; he thinks the prophecies he has seen are just his imagination or were meant for another; he starts preparing for his inevitable death by making sure the Blood Angels and their succors are organized in such a way for his death to not destroy them. Then he is forced to fight against another black crusade, Abaddon is pushing through all of Imperium Nihilus with all resistance crumbling; Guilliman is too far away for him and his forces to arrive in time, and the Astropaths aren't even sure a message has gotten through. He knows if Imperium Nihilus falls Chaos cannot be stopped. Ka'Bandha begins an assault on a critical world that the Blood Angels are defending, multiple Blood Angels successors have been completely wiped out, and Ka'Bandha is calling for Dante to face him. Dante is as weakened by his aging and his other burdens as he is currently; but he knows he must face Ka'Bandha to have any hope of dispelling this attack. All the while the Sanguinor is mysteriously not showing up, despite things looking at least as dire as the Devastation of Baal. When he faces Ka'Bandha it's revealed by Ka'Bandha that Dante carries a mostly dormant fragment of Sanguineous's soul, not just the connection other Blood Angels have, and Ka'Bandha wants to corrupt Dante because it's the next best thing to corrupting Sanguineous; which is why he fought so hard to defend Baal from the Tyranids. By this point many of the Blood Angels (and their successors) fighting have fully succumbed to the Black Rage (to the point where even with Primaris it's not clear they could ever hope to recover) and some have even fallen to Khornate corruption (though they are still fighting against the Daemons they are just killing anything and have completely fallen). Their Librarians have managed to protect certain groups from the influence of Khorne but the burden is too great, if Ka'Bandha is not expelled all Blood Angels will either turn to Khorne, the Black Rage or if they are lucky just die. But Ka'Bandha revealing the existence of the fragment of Sanguineous's in Dante has caused him to regain his faith in not only his visions but himself; if he does have a significant portion of Sanguineous's soul then his visions likely are real and mean something. In spite of the Khornate influence, his unprecedented amount of affliction from the Black Rage and the Red Thirst and the weakening of his body he fights Ka'Bandha with unquestioning certainty; he knows he should be no match for Ka'Bandha (considering even Sanguineous could barely banish him) he fights on, preparing to sacrifice himself in killing or weakening Ka'Bandha. His fight with Ka'Bandha and visions of Sanguineous's fight with Ka'Bandha completely blur together in his mind; he's essentially fallen to the Black Rage but his experiences are actually what's happening, he knows he is Dante but also knows he is Sanguineous; he's not sure where one personality ends and the other begins, he has the entire memories of both. The other Blood Angels who haven't fallen don't see Dante fighting Ka'Bandha anymore, they see Sanguineous fighting him with Dante barely visible underneath. Dante's Death-mask becomes Sanguineous's face in the flesh, Dante is flying with wings and has appeared to grow to the size of Sanguineous and the Librarians can sense it's not just and illusion of the warp, he has actually grown in size, has wings and Sanguineous's face. Ka'Bandha is cheering on the transformation egging him on, switching between calling him Sanguineous and Dante. The Blood Angels who have fallen to the Black Rage seem to regain some sense of control, realizing who they are and what is actually happening, they are able to redirect their efforts and coordinate an attack on the Daemons who are distracted by the duel: as anything is boring compared to this by Khorne's standards. Dante has essentially merged with the Sanguinor who was a fragment of Sanguineous in the flesh of a Horus Heresy era Blood Angel, this fragment merged into Dante (along with the one he already carried) and has strengthened him to the point where he's almost as strong as a Primarch (similar to Janus but Primaris, in the Black Rage, with over 1500 years experience and all of his Primarch's memories and wisdom) but Ka'Bandha is cheering/roaring because this is exactly what he wanted; he's essentially Sanguineous reborn. Dante holds on to his personality and realizes Ka'Bandha is holding back slightly, he remembers Sanguineous's fight with Ka'Bandha and knows he isn't as strong as Sanguineous; Ka'Bandha is trying to draw this out to break Dante and corrupt him. He uses his strength of will to expel Ka'Bandha's influence from his mind and is able to clearly see that he must kill Ka'Bandha immediately even if it costs him his life, or Ka'Bandha will break him damning all the Blood Angels and dooming the Imperium. He unexpectedly switches from fighting with the memories/personality of Sanguineous to fighting as Dante. Ka'Bandha is surprised by this long enough for Dante to land a critical blow that cuts off one of his arms and tears out a chunk of his chest, but this has opened up his defense to Ka'Bandha. Ka'Bandha impales Dante and rips him open, tearing out one of his hearts and mortally wounding him; only after Ka'Bandha did this did he realise that he has destroyed his second chance to corrupt Sanguineous. He backs away from Dante as he's overcome by rage, he slaughters his allied daemons and Blood Angels alike as he goes on a rampage while feeling greater anger than ever before. The Blood Angels who had fallen to the Black Rage and recovered somewhat now have completely lost all control. Eventually Ka'Bandha is killed/banished by Blood Angels overcome by the Black Rage swarming him. Mephiston, who was rallying the Librarians to hold back the Khornate influence and control the Black Rage, gets to Dante's dying body. His Death mask has fallen off and he looks more like and aged pale corpse than an Astartes, let alone Sanguineous, he no longer has wings and has shrunk back slightly. The Apothecaries don't even need to say there is nothing that can be done, even a Primarch would likely be killed by such wounds. Mephiston gathers any surviving Librarians he can find who haven't been completely lost to the Black Rage and use their powers to keep Dante alive. Dante repeatedly orders them to stop saying it is useless, he is prepared to die, and that they will over exert themselves. But they continue, most of the surviving Librarians die as their souls are burned out as they try to keep Dante alive. All the Librarians who are there (including Mephiston) eventually die. Dante is barely alive but his injuries do heal. He is distraught that so many of his brothers are dead after all they had suffered through, all trying to save him. He says his connection to Sanguineous shouldn't have caused them to throw their lives away like they did; but every Blood Angel who he talks to says the Librarians did what any of them would have done, that even if he isn't truly Sanguineous reborn he is the closest thing to it. They point out that even before he transformed into the image of Sanguineous on the battlefield both the Sanguinor and Guilliman seem to have recognized Dante's embodiment of Sanguineous. Dante is now nearly as large as a Primarch and his face is youthful again (and looks more like Sanguineous than it did before) but he continues to wear his Death-mask at almost all times. His body now is fully recovered but he still feels the pain of his aching body, even though there is no longer anything wrong with it. The Black Rage and the Red Thirst have weakened substantially but their numbers have still been decimated and a significant number of Blood Angels have turned to Chaos. And they still don't know if the rest of the Imperium has gotten word on what has happened; let alone what is happening everywhere else. They don't have the numbers to hope to hold Imperium Nihilus and have taken casualties to rival the Devastation of Baal.

The problem with this is Mephistion is easily the most powerful BA. It’s not even close. Read Darkness in the Blood, which is directly connected to Mephistion. He’s just as important to the son of Sanguinius.

Does the solution to every Astartes problem have to be "Just make him Primaris." It feels like such a cheap cop out, not to mention it leaves the First Born fans without any relevant heroes.

@Barb Richardson Certainly are hostile aren't we? If the Primaris had been implemented more soundly without bludgeoning everyone over the head with them like they have been, perhaps more of "my lot" would have been more accepting of them. As of where they stand currently they are poorly written and have been implemented with lack luster regard for how it may affect the story and character of each chapter.

@Barb Richardson That's a rather broad generalization, one I disagree with entirely. It`s unfortunate you see it with such vehement disdain. I find the introduction of the Primaris difficult to appreciate because it feels like the end of a very beloved section of Warhammer history, though I am sure you`re right that change was coming regardless. I just find it saddening that it came around in such a bland manner.

@Barb Richardson I wouldn't have introduced the Primaris at all. I don't mean to take credit away from Cawl and RG's sanction to start a new super soldier program, I just find it hard to believe that one of Mar's Tech Priests was able to modify the Genetic Code necessary to create Astartes, much less reinvent them. I will say that it taking him roughly ten thousand years to accomplish this is a redeeming factor, but where the rest of the Imperium has remained technologically stagnant this one Tech Priest (and perhaps his underlings) were able to design and create the necessary level of technology needed to improve and enhance the Astartes formula? If I were to rewrite it, which I admit won't be nearly as sound purely from a time standpoint, but I would have Roboute implement a similar plan to what already exists. The difference being that instead of creating a new line of super soldiers, Cawl is charged with storing and refining the purity of the Gene-Seed. We know that the Adeptus Mechanicus receives tithes of Astartes Gene-Seed in order to monitor purity and to help establish new chapters. What if a portion of the tithes that were received were stored immediately after examination, while the rest was used to create new chapters over the millennia. Astartes chapters pay a tribute of 5% worth of their Gene-Seed, which would be around 50 Gene-Seed if a chapter were at full strength (rarely happens I know, but they also have stores of their own Gene-Seed). With the several dozen Chapters left over from the Horus Heresy you could, over time, build the many successor Chapters we see in the modern era. Potentially more as each new Chapter also adds their Gene-Stock to the pool of collected tithes. So over the ten millennia of war, Cawl and his cronies could have been storing this vast wealth of remaining unused Gene-Seed. In addition, we could assume or add that Cawl or the Adeptus Mechanicus keep the same amount of capable aspirants in stasis should the founding of a new Chapter become necessary. Then Roboute wakes up under similar circumstances as we see him do, because my gripe is not with the lore, just the Primaris. Big Blue realizes his Imperium that he fought for is on the verge of collapse and has given into zealous devotion in the name of our holy emperor. He decides that although the Codex Astartes was the correct line of thinking in terms of limiting the amount of Astartes under the control of a Chapter Master, but the numbers are simply too limiting (if you consider the thousand chapters of a thousand marines only equaling a million). So instead of increasing the capacity a Chapter is capable of fielding, Roboute decides to drastically fuel a Chapter Founding Program (hell call it the Ultima Founding if you still want). But this time instead of having millions of pre-made Primaris Marines, you have Cawl frantically putting together new First Born Chapters by the hundreds on top of restocking the currently active Chapters. That way the narrative focuses around Roboute desperately gathering the Ultramarines, the other Founding Chapters he can immediately reach, and all of their successors in order to reconsolidate the resources within a controlled portion of the Imperium to fuel into Cawl's program. On top of that Roboute realizes that although the Space Marine arsenal is powerful, new equipment could be readily utilized by them and thus begins to commission new gear and armaments for the Astartes. Bring out new Mk. for Astartes armour (giving us truescale), upgraded transports and Heavy weapons (new units and vehicles). All of which, Cawl's program included, would take an immense amount of time in order to bring to fruition. Again making it more grim for the Imperium, but feasible with Guilliman's superseding of the High Lords of Terra, given the time necessary to achieve such a monumental goal. This way when each new Codex rolls out, its not an immediate fast forwarding of a hundred years that we got, instead each new Codex details the efforts Guilliman goes through in order to release the newly founded Chapters but also restock those in desperate need. Have it so that each Codex takes place several decades further into Guilliman's attempt to reestablish the Astartes, and what roles these chapters are CURRENTLY undertaking in order to do their part to keep the Imperium together while Big Blue continues to distribute the reinforcements to the correct strategic or genetic recipient. Have the battle for Vigilus still happen, and for similar reasons, but with the added objective of it being the main plausible gateway to the northern section of the Galaxy, and subsequently the means of reinforcing the Blood Angel's & their Successors. Everybody gets a reinforced Chapter Army with truescale marines, new units, new vehicles, and plenty of new conflicts that are current and relevant (the securing of the galactic territories currently in turmoil). Instead of having Big Blue "save" the galaxy in a hundred years off screen so to speak and without the fans "participating" so to speak. I admit this may have several plot holes I have not thought through, but it feels more inclusive and everyone still gets the new models as well as truescale. I hope this at least offers an alternative in terms of past possibilities, but as I said I'm sure there are plenty of errors. Also please don't take this as a sign of contention, I have no issue with you, and can even respect your enjoyment of the Primaris. In the end I am happy that our hobby has grown and become as popular as it has, and am glad that many fans are satisfied. This is just what I wish could have happened. @Barb Richardson to me its More about the lack of chapter culture and uniqueness that leaves such a bad taste in the mouth with primaris, if they woudnt shove Ultras down the throat AND maybe took time to come up with a better writting idea i Guess It would be much easier to accept them, but at the end its all about the money money, sad but true.

Awesome job as always Rho! That was a great video! I whole heartedly agree with you in that it should be Dante's choice to make the crossing because it needs to be. Otherwise you end up having more in common with interment into a Dreadnaught like Bjorn than you really have with a super hero level character making the jump, most especially since he has already said that he feels his body failing him. Not to mention all the statistics that Q'vo gives regarding the difficulties of specifically performing the procedure on both the Angels and Wolves. I think the biggest thing I would like to see expanded on is how the transformation stabilizes the geneseed moving forward and could in fact revitalize Dante overall. So instead of seeing him withered but strong, we get to see him, if not in his prime, damn close to it. Regardless cheers mate, to another awesome vid!

"Sanguinius' Greatest Son". The proof is in the lore. He's such an amazingly humanized character. He's...dying, and he knows he's dying. Slowly. There's nothing he can do about it. He's reached the end of the thread he's been given...but, he doesn't have time to die; there's too much that needs to be done, there's too many that need him to continue to survive. This literally brought tears to my eyes, this story.

Loved this video, Rho! Great way to start the week off! My personal thoughts on this matter are that Dante will eventually be forced into either one of two scenarios: either he will have to cross the Rubicon to become a Primaris Marine, or he will get hurt so badly that his body will be entombed within a Dreadnought. Seeing as his advanced age is what is making the others of the chapter wary of his crossing of the Rubicon, I feel they might try the Dreadnought option first. He's of such vital importance to the Imperium Nihilus that the Blood Angels can't just warp him off to the nearest Retirement Home World, and his body is so aged that he can barely keep up the façade of being the Angel's greatest son for much longer. Honestly what Dante needs, and what I feel Guy Hailey hasn't really done yet, is bring forth a new hero that is ready and willing to be able to take the place of these ancient warriors of the chapter. Dante, Corbulo, Mephiston, Astorath, and Lemartes are some of the oldest characters in the lore. Very little has been done with others of the Angelic Host because they are so overshadowed by these legends. Honestly I would love to see the rise of a new Blood Angel, whether as an Initiate or a battle-brother, as someone even Dante could look to as the one to eventually replace him. Someone who embodied all of what it was to be a Blood Angel, yet had the fire of youth burning in their souls. My personal ideal would be someone who would have the true mastery over the Rage and the Thirst, being able to unleash it in their hour of greatest need, yet still being able to direct its course and recall its power once the mission was complete. A character who had these abilities, but also the heart of the Angel himself. I would love to see someone like this who is very human at their core, but possesses all that the Blood Angels have the potential to be, and that Dante would take notice of them and take them under his wing. The dynamic of the rising star learning from the legend who's sun has set would fit very well with the Blood Angels. The best I've seen this dynamic put together in the lore was in the novel Helsreach between Priamus and Cador (in true 40k fashion though it always has a grimdark ending). There may be some better examples, but that is the best one I know of. Dante needs new blood (no pun intended) in his leadership who are ready and willing to take the mantle from their legendary forebears. These are just my thoughts, and I'd be interested to see what you all thought on the matter. Keep up the great work Rho! :)

You know I think Dante will probably acquire the full god maker gland instead of the half version regular primaris receive. He would ascend to something akin to a primarch. A power he is more then worthy of receiving. Of course they would have to find the plans for the missing half in order for him to receive it.

Chapter Master I mean it’s kinda hard to burn out something that would be functionally immortal. Since the god maker puts you in the same level of the primarchs in many respects. It would likely give him there longevity.

@@hummerskickass there aré diferences though, primarchs were "born" with it while an Astartes would be Upgraded with it, i feel like It would be very unstable and besides would be like a Rubicón Primaris 2.0.so... i just dont see It happening, Dante going Primaris or Dreadnought would be More likely and would feel more right i think.

I think the Rubicon might be a bridge too far for Dante, even if the odds can be improved by Cawl. Mabye its time to start measuring him up for a Dreadnaught.

You've touched on how you think Sanguinious could return. Perhaps because he's become a warp entity like/similar to Saint Katherine. Dante goes to face off against Abaddon at starts to fall but becomes infused by Sanguinious himself. Abaddon's beat down then commences?

I think this will lead to a neccessary crossing of the Rubicon Primaris. Despite Mephistons fears what else can Dante do? Taking blood doesn't sit well and Dante knows he has to mind that aspect of his physiology b/c time's ticking. If he doesn't become Primaris he either dies of age or degrades into a blood sucker.

He falls to the black rage, but plot twist, the spirit of Sanguinius actually DOES inhabit his body, and the primarch is reborn to fight Abaddon properly.

Love this video. Just bought Darkness in the blood. Dante is the greatest Astartes since the great crusade.

Devestation of Baal was what got me collecting Blood Angels. 6000 points deep and still love these red lads.

Never have i ever been so concerned about the health of a fictional character

Dante is one of my favourite characters in 40k I feel he will make the change and will become something stronger then he should almost like a true embodiment of sanginius

Dante will become a primaries and we hope he will get better but he is old and knows that even a new body will only go so far and even if stronger the galaxy won’t care but is will is eternal. When he dies it will be because he chooses to die and he will finally get to rest and see all his brother he left behind to be the hero the empire needed

There’s very few characters that ever really show their age. Mephiston and Marnius Calgar are basically both tired middle-age fathers. Dante and Guilliman just want to die, and Bjorn is Bjorn… he’s a senile old man stuck in a forever box that keeps him alive. You cant help but feel bad for them, they’re just, tired…

Is Dante not immortal like the earlier space marines because of degradation of geneseed or something? Like how if you keep copying something every time it slowly loses quality?

@@Reaperherpderp I dont remember exactly, but the usual marine only lives 300 years. even the older ones. and the primaris havent been around long enough. Dante is only 1300 years old but he is still the oldest marine besides some of the dreadnaughts, but they dont count so.

Abbi is bigger then any Primarch... he even killed the cloned Horus.

I'm thinking, he'll go primaris but something goes wrong and he ends up as a primaris super dreadnought

Perhaps the transition would be incomplete due to Dante's extreme age. Receiving only some of the primaris modifications, or just surgery to reinforce his weakened body.

I could see dante eventually being possessed by the sanguinor or even sanguinius himself. I feel like just primaris isn't enough for such a legend

@@Dreadbringer I mean they already have several chapter masters crossed the rubicon, i think considering dante's status and his significance to the overall narrative they would do something more to him. Like he dies during the processes but his soul is merged with the sanguinor/ sanguinius and his body is used as a vessel for his saint hood. And then his model could have actual wings and shit.

@@greenn992 lorewise would be cool, in Dante's pov It would be kinda sad, but i think moneywise they would just Primaris him, personally i would love to see him with a new pattern custom Dreadnought but then who would become chapter master? Thats a problem i think so i guess just Primaris, though winged would be awesome indeed.

For Dante to wait for the encounter with death, would be too late. Crossing the rubicon would be little more than a death sentence. He has to do it now, while be has any strength left. I don't really see a choice. Do it Dante

Not sure if this has been done but it would be neat to discuss instances when a primarch gets in over his head and would have perished if not for the intervention of a brother primarch. Wonder if there are enough material on that in the lore.

Alright conspiracy theory time! What if Dante crosses the Rubicon and BAM! He walks out as the mini Sanguinious? Youthful and ready for another 1000 years of work!

Dante can't cross the Rubicon because Cawl hasn't figured out how to give Primaris Marines both a jump pack and a melee weapon at the same time yet.

For Dante it’s a win win. If it works then Dante is a primaris. If it fails the he can finally rest.

I know alot of people are leaning towards a reincarnation of sanguinius within Dante but I feel that does him no justice. Dante has endured so much, and done so much i feel while it would obviously be an honour just throwing sanguinius into his body really takes away from his accomplishments. Look at characters like Mephiston, Astorath and Lemartes. Who have overcome these major struggles and have kind of transcended, it feels too easy and a bit of a cop out. I also don't want him to just turn primaris either as it seems like some type of cop out. Honestly I want him to carry on and am aware he's deteriorating but what greater legacy could be left if Dante just remained as is fighting until his demise becoming a martyr dying as the original human and astartes he was born but being recognised and respected as much as his primarch.
