Those tools for holding the brake pedal and steering wheel is used on most alignment machines to keep the wheels from turning or rolling. U know what camber and toe is. Caster is the axis that the front wheels turn on.

Those alignment stands must be pretty strong to hold up the weight of the S15. They look like it’ll bend the arms of the stands

You gotta use your youtube clout to get better deals at up.

The more positive Ackerman angle you have the harder it is to drive and drift, it will want to push the rear around. The more negative Ackerman the lazier it will be at speed and as you slow down you will get more steering, might make it twitchy when drifting

Wow that’s amazing Sam! Will you end up changing the alignment for a more aggressive setup? 0 rear camber some toe in and some more toe out in the front? Or are most of the cars setup pretty similar?

Nice car. Fun video. Since you’re on the topic of suspension alignment/geometry and at one of the best S-chassis specialist. I have a question about anti-squat. S13 rear subframe at stock ride height has ~45% anti-squat, lowered ~2.5” it has near Zero. Nissan moved S14 to Zero anti-squat at stock ride height, not sure once lowered, must be pro-squat. What about S15 rear subframe? Did they change it a 3rd time? Also, once ride height is set, what’s the ideal anti-squat (or pro-squat) for drifting? How about winding roads & circuit? One of the only changes made to S2000 suspesion geometry over it’s ~10yr run was rear suspframe anti-squat in 2004. So it must be an important geometry setting if Nissan & Honda are playing with it.

Might have something todo with the track the wheel takes when full lock to prevent oversteer or maybe its a return thing but i assume its todo with the angle

MONGREL CARMODZ could be return thing actually. As I do remember Sam in one of his last videos , when he drove the rental yashio car. he said it almost steers it’s self . Probably wouldnt steer like a slug having cut an shut knuckles .iv only felt negative on stock knuckles wasn’t to nice . Might need to try this on modified knuckles ,now that I have them .

@@tristansouthward5900 yeah im feeling it might be the case an yeah i remember that one aswell makes sense aye, i know that camber when on full lock will affect the how much track an tyre touches the ground the castor helps even that out nicely the toe wil defo help with the returning side of things an stopping the wheel angle front being to far but instead just right for the alinement let it go to the max position befor the tyre starts to lift off the ground so alround these settings would be pretty freaken nice to ride on would love to copy these oneday if i ever have an s15 haha

MONGREL CARMODZ thinking I will get same alignment done , an try it out . Except for 7deg camber up front . With s15 I feel it gets to a certain point of lock ,an the steering wheel drops by its self at the last 5-10 degrees not a great feeling . Does the same with my mates 15 . Might not be felt as much on a smooth track at speed but on street driven 3.2 degrees feels perfect .

malcolm rojas not many places powder coat in Japan bro. You’re gonna have to do some in-depth research. I’ve lived here for 20 years plus and rare to hear of people power coating. Best bet to send back to states

With Kendas it's a well known thing to run them backwards to prevent them from delaminating, burning up super quick & you also get more grip out of them backwards as well. For some reason Kendas chunk off & destroy themselves when you run them in the correct orientation.
