@@Johnnyprc I want to see Wilson start for another team. Then we can see who the problem was. Him or our team (broncos). Plus, I don’t hate the man or anything. Best of luck Russ. He was great here in Seattle. No doubt about it. Something happened between Seattle and Denver. I don’t care what any person says online… NOBODY saw this coming. NOBODY thought he’d play so poorly.

As a Hawks fan I can't disagree. His ability to evade sacks and turn a play into backyard football and his uncanny ability to pull of magical clutch throws in major situations was truly jaw dripping. The moment he gained weight and tried to be more of a pocket passer than a play action agile QB his play diminished a good amount 🤷. His weaknesses shined through while he didn't utilize his strengths nearly as much. His 10yrs in Seattle is HOF worthy play. Legendary plays in the dozens. But idk if that will be his legacy or the last couple years. I still think in the right situation and coach and he could give a team a good 3 maybe 4 years since he's taken care of his body and always slide instead of taking big hits... But he HAS to go away from trying to be a pocket passer like Peyton and use his legs to create those big plays!

Russ thought Pete was the problem.. turns out Pete had a program that hid Russell's weaknesses to the point Denver thought he was worth almost a quarter of a BILLION dollars before he ever wore an orange jumpsuit.. Mr Unsuferable, in his attempt to show he's the goat... has become the biggest financial bust that can't even live up to the quality standards of Walmart.

@Alex-ie1qu Nobody is the same as a lions fan. That's a level of losing very few franchises in sports period, and nobody in the NFL can claim to be the same. Also, all the fact that the steelers have 6 superbowls does is briefly allow us to talk shit since 2/3rds of them came decades before I was even born. The point still stands though. I still watch my team when football terrorist Matt Canada propelled us into the worst offense in the league during his 3 year tenure. And eventually, when this team does get even worse, I'll still watch them.

As a Seahawks fan, I've never felt so seen. The Russ Zone. The huge ego cloaked by piety, and two-faced self-interest. The amazing, truly amazing plays. How he churns through coaches. How you have to watch every snap to appreciate how hapless his offense can be and then amazing. How he can't connect with most players. How kind he is to the community. How obsessed he is with image and celebrity and Team 3. It's exhausting.

Even from afar (I'm a Lions fan) something has always seemed...off...with Russell Wilson. As you say I think it's the ego cloaked by piety. It's like he's trying so hard to come off as sincere that it just screams "insincere". It reminds me of the UFC's Jon Jones at the beginning of his career when every fighter called him out for being fake. Thank god Wilson is just insincere and not a human wasteland like Jon Jones.

Watching Purdy, Mahomes, Brady, Stafford, even Goff win by being in the pocket and seeing the field has sold me more on the need for that type of QB.

Amazing vid Perna! Shoutout to you and the support cast, well said. Excited to see what our scouting department puts together this year. Despite being impoverished in draft stock for the last few years I still think the core of our scouting operations (thanks Gary Kubiak) and George have some solid evaluators. The biggest issue with our team has been a lack of offensive identity where 'good' players (including Russ) are misfits to the scheme. Sean is getting his kitchen in order and making sure he has the right core ingredients to support his scheme and the growing pains we experience now will help right size our roster.

Long Time Seahawks fan, you are very correct and Im convinced that General Managers only saw box scores and highlight plays weekly and not the huge first down droughts that he went thru in almost every game.

Nine-tenths of the time during the past two years Russel Wilson was the only person getting anything done for the Broncos, and that includes the work done by Coach Payton. This is a franchise destroying, short-sighted, myopic move. Have fun watching the barn burn down.

I was so happy about the Russ trade that I bought my first Gamer, a Blue on Orange #3 to ware to the Monday Night Opener in Seattle. Four and a half hour drive each way for the game and all I got from that trip was quite literally Covid! I followed that up with my first trip to Denver to watch a game at Mile High this season. Road tripping over 1,200miles each way to watch what I figured was a Winnable game against the Commanders. If you thought Perna's reaction to the end of that game was over the top, let me tell you every fan in the stands was either too depressed to say a word or yelling at the refs louder than they had been cheering all game. Going to those two games cost me over $1000 in tickets, hotels, gas and an entire week out of work with Covid after blowing my PTO in the case of the Seattle game. If I ever go to a live Broncos game again it will a game later in the season when I know the team is actually competitive! I'm done paying for the Hype! The only game I've been to that they won was in LA when the Chargers played in a MLS stadium and Joe Flaco was our QB!

1:42 - I grew up a Patriots fan in the 80s and 90s and I had to live through Rod Rust and the locker room scandal and the Bears clowning the Patriots harder than had ever been seen in the SB to that point (thank you Denver for bearing that cross in our stead), so I guess getting to be a fan of the Galactic Empire for a couple decades balanced it out some. I didn't pick the 1991 Patriots but what was I going to do?

Payton allegedly threw making it into the playoffs to mess over Wilson. Between Payton still being the coach and Wilson's contract obligations, that ride is going on for a while. Lube up baby!

I get a lot of things wrong about football. But I thought Russell was clearly washed in Seattle. The trade, for me, was mind-boggling. I didn't think he was an NFL starter and the Broncos gave away the farm. Its difficult to accept, but the fact is that some teams are run by completely incompetent people. This is true in all aspects of society, where there are people in very high positions who have no business being there.

Chiefs fan here. We had our QB's that didn't save us. Trent Green, Matt Cassel, and a few other bad ones in between. It's part of the rebuilding process. That dead money is going to hurt... but in 2 to 3 years, if the team does all the right things, you'll be back to being competitive in the West. Yes, I know you hate my team. I have no love lost for yours, especially since I've been a fan going back to around 1990. I watched my team die while yours got two different runs. But you're absolutely spot on. Fandom isn't a choice and even when your team breaks your heart and you scream that you're done, we come back to them like some kind of abused partner because at the end of the day, we love them and hope for better the next year. Okay, that was harsh, and I don't want to make light of spousal abuse, because that's not cool - but damn if it doesn't feel like that sometimes. We love our teams and we cheer for those who beat up on our rivals. But we also know that they will come back and surprise us again and give us something to look forward to, and we can't quit, ever.
