Great episode, best voice to listen too so far and wel paced. And great for pointing out the app with the hyperlinks works so much better then print.

I was expecting the left over but this is probably the most tactical session of this series (e.g. scenario 8 at 15:30). Thanks for scenario 6 at 14:14, it is an easy advice to understand and hopefully apply. Looking forward to the next session, thanks!

Great video, just to note that at 11:55 you probably ment to say: So Yellow it not allowed to sail ABOVE her proper course. You omitted the ABOVE. In that scenario, yellow can sail her proper course but doesn't have luffing rights.

Are we sure if the spinnaker collapses luffing to fill it is not a proper course?

Hi, I think you have a typo in scenario 3 in regards to rule 14. Isn't yellow the keep clear boat that broke rules 10 and 14. Also, I don't understand Scenario 4, position 2. You say that blue is the windward boat; assuming that the wind is coming from top of slide, isn't yellow the windward boat? Thanks. Great information provided!

8:25 Rule 14, Damage From what I saw, our club used the dictionary definition as well: for race arbitration, any time paint was traded it was called damage, and I've seen paint traded a couple times. That said, I've never seen anything more than a beer demanded in recompense: "Rubbing is racing" after all... Edit: so reading between the lines, blue is allowed to hit the other boat so long as it doesn't do damage (we were sailing keel boats with painted hulls so I've never gone down this rabbit hole before, I've always just assumed if there's contact you both are doing a penalty, never noticed that word 'exonerated' before, but the way I'm reading it, unpainted classes, dinghies, could play a lot rougher and get away with it)? 🏒🥅😁
