The Royal Enfield Classic 350, Where's it taking me now
On this ride the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Where’s it taking me now?
Have you ever had one of those days when you w2want to go for a ride, but can’t think of anywhere to go?
I had that feeling, I knew I wanted to end up at the Old Smithy in Moneyash but didn’t want to go the same way as I always do.
I thought “just point the front and let the bike tell me where to go!” I headed out on a familiar road out of Castleton, Derbyshire, up Winnats Pass. Then on towards Sparrowpit.
Then it happened, I’d seen the turn off loads of times, but something said “where does that road go” it turned out to be a lovely little valley, just the sort I like on the Classic 350.
And that’s how it went on, when I saw a lane, I turned onto it. Eventually finding my way to The Old Smithy for a bacon butty, plate of chips (fries in the USA), and a coffee.
Come on, you didn’t think I was going on a ride and not having a bacon butty!
Grab a cuppa, off we go.
Ride safe, Dave.

A motorcycle will never let you get lost, it will only take you places you’ve never been.
One of the reasons I like watching your videos is you’ve introduced me to the country side that I didn’t have a clue about, I find watching you explore and giving good commentary is so encouraging for when I get my classic Enfield which hopefully won’t be long now. 👍🏍️
That’s the lane I suggested to you when you did some of the same lanes as me on your Castleton clip Discovered it in decent weather though, it’s on my video dated 16/9/23 Good cafe near Tideswell is Cowshed Cafe at Beltonville Farm Campsite, about a mile or two out of Tideswell as you head towards the A6
Been watching your videos since I bought a Classic 350 last year. You seem to live in the Rothwell area as I know the park you have passed once or twice. I'm retiring in the spring & cannot believe the amount of retirees acquiring this very same bike.
Great vid .. all roads we've done on bike and car . Love em.. since 70s . 🙂
Wonderful ride and beautiful country. Thank you.
Thank you, that was a lovely ride, Dave. Winnats Pass is somewhere I've never been - it's a bit far from West Aust - and the lighting conditions on the ride gave it great atmosphere. As you say, motorcycling is a great way of clearing the mind. I had a nice little 50 km coastal ride this week on the one cool (35C) day. Forecast 43C today and 42C tomorrow, so no frozen fingers here! PHEW!! 🥵
Thanks for that. I didn't realize that winnats pass was so close to snake pass. I'll pop down next time to have a look. It's lovely around there. Hope you are enjoying the 350. I wonder what you'll be riding in Tenerife?😂
Got out today on my 350, bit cold and bike now needs a wash. Every minute was epic!😊 Thanks for another great video
I think your enjoying this, guess what, so am I, it’s an awesome video mate.
these bikes have soul love mine to bits ride on bro ! getting her out 2moro.
Hi that bloke on a moter bike, great vid and those roads that you have not been down be for and they were very interesting. Enjoy your holiday away and you will enjoy your retirement and it will be great for you and as you said you can go back to work occasionally and you can keep your hand in as you said
Nice run out round there Dave , if you turn right just before the Yonderman it takes you over to Monsal head, I often go out over the dales through the week when everyone else is at work, being retired myself, can't beat it ! 👍
Great Vid mate. A man after my own heart, bikes may not 'let' you get lost...but it's sure fun trying ehy 😂👍 Have a great summer mate..not long now 👍
I have been retired for 2 years and work a flexible 10 -15 hours a week. Although I have interests and hobbies, I would definitely recommend keeping your hand in if you can … it’s good to interact and keep they grey matter excersised 😀
Brilliant thanks please more videos Waching the videos during my work breaks keeps me sane 😂
Thank you for showing me a couple of new roads to try Dave I love Winnats Pass but usually do it early on a Saturday morning before the mayhem descends lol it is beautiful around there. Ride safe Martin
Another cracking ride Dave, you know when it comes to riding being a form of therapy, a 350 Enfield is the best, definitely takes you out of the rat race 👍it’s about time you treat your self to some heated gear buddy 👍
Those roads are barley wide enough for a car and a motorcycle 🏍️ never mind 2 cars.
Great to see you back out Dave. Stunning location. Ps, did you name your new bike.
A great ride in the Peak District. I agree, going out for a ride is very therapeutic. That was similar to most of my rides, I’m not lost but haven’t a clue exactly where I am, lol. Saw a cafe on another channel, in the area I didn’t know about, the Cowshed, do you know it?

Hi Martin, I've not heard of that one. I will look it up when I get back 🙂 ride safe, Dave
The cafe by the lights at Calver would have been another option from Peak Forest. Monyash is my fave though 😀😀😀
