The Royal Enfield Classic 350 Goes to Northumbria Episode 4 - Ivy goes Off Road

Ivy’s at it again, she decided to take me on an off-road adventure along the Kielder Forrest Drive.
A dirt track running over moor and through forests I could imagine we were riding in any wilderness in the world. As her confidence grew, Ivy got giddy, heading for the thick stuff whenever she had a chance.
Grab your cuppa, turn the heating up, sit back and enjoy some summertime riding.
Ride safe, Dave.

That was fabulous Dave. It was a carbon copy of the sort of rides I do, on my Halcyon grey here in South Gippsland Aus. Thanks to you, Worro and Stuart, for helping provide the motivation to buy mine. These bikes are magic. Well, for an old bloke anyway. 😄

Good onya Gaza, I'm sure you'll get lots of enjoyment out of the RE 350; if the number after your tag's correct I've got six years on you and I'm still riding (Guzzi Breva 750). I'm on the other side of the island, so long straight roads here, but where you are has some great roads. Back in the '80's - RD250 and Kwaka Z750 - I'd get down to East Gippsland, the Dandenongs and the Black Spur; some great riding roads!

You can find petrol at Bellingham Dave - not that it is much use to you now, some months later. The forest road is great. I once went up there for a ride from Newcastle before I moved out here, and when I got there, there was a notice saying the road was closed for military exercises. It is all part of the Reidsdale military range. Of course, having ridden up there for about forty miles, I just ignored the sign and then, about a quarter of the way along, I came across a mock battle with about twenty guys all cammoed up assaulting the road and rampaging into the forest on the other side firing their SA80s (blanks of course - they all had yellow clips on the muzzles. Fair frightened the life out of me. Serves me right for acting like King of the Pirates and taking no notice of the sign. Nobody bothered me. I often ride in the forest. It is absolutely massive. Runs from Hadrian's Wall all the way up and over the Scottish Border. Great video. Loved the bits where all you could hear was wind and a few tiny birds. I have spent countless hours wandering these forests over the last fifty years spent many a night camping out in bothies or just a bivy bag on the ground.

God - think yersel lucky. Last week I had the lights on at mid day for several days. Grim. Daves video makes it look lush up here - and it is during the summer. January? Not so much.

One of the ways your videos are better than others is how you explain the areas The trivia about the timber needed between the wars is an example I’ll probably never go to these places so I really appreciate you explaining things like that Thanks

I find it humorous how you let a little grunt getting on and off your bike, I’m in my seventies and do the same. How did I get old so soon?

What a great ride on Ivy. Beautiful scenery, fresh air, sunshine and silence. The only thing that broke the silence was the gentle throb of Ivy's engine making a soundtrack to complete such a wonderful ride. Thank you for another great video.

Surely that address database is only available to the cops and very few others and only then when on actual police business. The filth who stole Dave's bike and deliberately destroyed it, didn't need a number plate to get hold of it.
