The Royal Army Of Oman Pipes and Drums - World Pipe Band Championships 2023
The Royal Army of Oman Pipes and Drums competing in The World Pipe Band Championships in Glasgow 2023 on Saturday 19th August. They played in the Grade 4B Heat and then qualified for the final which you can also see in this video where the band won "Best Band On Parade".
Their set included The Atholl Breadane Gathering, The Piper's Cave Greenwood Side, P/M William Ross's Farewell to 2nd Battalion Scots Guards and Teribus.

The Sultanate hire on contract retired British army pipe majors and highland drumming instructors to teach the Sultans pipe bands. The students are eager to learn and the result of their dedication is what you see in this vid. For an ex forces piping or drumming instructor it's one of the best paying gigs out there.

Oman and the gulf area has had a long standing history of playing bagpipes in different forms. Oman, when they got in touch with Great Britain and more specifically the Scottish regiments, adopted the Great Highland Bagpipe as a standard.
