Dave is too intelligent for most people and he was way ahead of his time when he did this Radio Gig. I enjoyed it immensely and great to hear it again!

Much love, sure, I get the context to which this may have frustrated people post- Stern, I wasnt a listener then so I didn't care, but I like this. I understand that Dave was trying to perhaps compensate for some of the perceived blank hole left in many by that absence. But taking it now for what is it's great. Keep in mind also that this was, what, 13+ years ago. It was a different time and a different you and I and Dave for that matter too. Sure it maybe not was what people expected or hoped, but it's just fine. Coming from listening to the entirety of the Roth Show, this is a great fix to scratch the itch of now an absence of more available content. I'm no VH fanboy, and I loved the Rogan interviews, though I can get why some of Joe's crowd could see him as too big of personality, but there's nothing cringeworthy other than the articulations of a mind firing at more cylinders than most, sure it could come off to some or many as arrogance or ego or overly-self-important. But if you were one of the biggest rock star frontmen of the late 70s into the entirety of the 80s, living in a level of existence most people will never be able to comprehend. Weighing that with a predisposition to confidence, intelligence and charisma, something of which is not embodied by most other people and even other entertainers. The person commenting below me is projecting their own annoying insecurities. Judging others while contributing nothing even remotely of mutual value. Who cares if you don't like it, move onward, I happen to like and accept it. It's not as good as the focus and ability to go on tangents of experience and wisdom as on the Roth Show episodes rather than the post-Stern radio gig. But even Dave admitted it wasnt what he wanted for the show and it was forced on him to be a certain way and basically became executized and any sort of potential creativity was snuffed. So fuck the detractors, I support it. Much appreciation Dave!

I remember him talking to Kevin Federline and him saying something about how he could be more like, or the next Justin Timberlake or something and I remember Federline getting real quiet. Dave had no clue that Timberlake was Britney Spears boyfriend before Federline.

I was there for every episode and I called in on one episode, I loved it, but it was doomed to fail. Follow the Stern show? Yeah right...I’m a VH fan as well as Roth fan so I’m gonna love it, but the average morning listener didn’t know or care. Dave’s humor isn’t as good as he thinks it is...lol The Show was mostly centered around Dave’s one liners and tracks of him singing. Stern was controversial and did crazy stuff that kept people on the edge of their seats. But I’d still listen Dave...

I heard that Dave went to the station at 4.30 a.m. to pick out the tracks for the show. The DJ was playing "Jump" and Dave picked up the mic and sang over it.
