Apologies for the long delay since I last posted a new video in August 2019.
My Logic Pro X DAW went all funny afterwards so I decided to abandon it and use Reaper DAW instead along with EzDrummer for the drum parts.
So I had to spend some time learning Reaper and also learning EzDrummer.
Then the epidemic came earlier this year and the kids had to stay home so I was a bit busy during the meantime.
This Rolling Stones outtake (presumably from the Some Girls sessions) which I found by chance on KZread had been a candidate for posting a cover for a few years now.

On hearing the longer version, I suspect the shorter version was somehow edited from the longer version.
I heard the shorter version first so I used that as the basis for learning Ronnie’s pedal steel part.
I can’t use the original audio out of respect for the original copyright holders of the sound recording so I made a similar backing track with EzDrummer, bass and two electric guitar parts.
Then I overdubbed the pedal steel part.
I’ve done my best to decipher what Ronnie was doing despite the parts being unclear at times due to the bootleg nature of the source.
Anyway this my best guess at what I think Ronnie was doing.
There should be two other parts coming, as soon as I commit the parts to memory. I’ve been playing the first part here for weeks now.
