The Rolling Stones- Miss You
Музыка
From Some Girls (1978)
(Lyrics)
I've been holding out so long
I've been sleeping all alone
Lord I miss you
I've been hanging on the phone
I've been sleeping all alone
I want to kiss you
Oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh
Oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh
Oooh oooh oooh
Oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh
Oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh
Oooh oooh oooh oooh
Well, I've been haunted in my sleep
You've been starring in my dreams
Lord I miss you
I've been waiting in the hall
Been waiting on your call
When the phone rings
It's just some friends of mine that say,
"Hey, what's the matter man?
We're gonna come around at twelve
With some Puerto Rican girls that are just dyin' to meet you.
We're gonna bring a case of wine
Hey, let's go mess and fool around
You know, like we used to"
Aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah
Aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah
Aaah aaah aaah aaah
Oh everybody waits so long
Oh baby why you wait so long
Won't you come on! Come on!
I've been walking in Central Park
Singing after dark
People think I'm crazy
I've been stumbling on my feet
Shuffling through the street
Asking people, "What's the matter with you boy?"
Sometimes I want to say to myself
Sometimes I say
Oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh
Oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh
Oooh oooh oooh
Oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh
Oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh
I won't miss you child
I guess I'm lying to myself
It's just you and no one else
Lord I won't miss you child
You've been blotting out my mind
Fooling on my time
No, I won't miss you, baby, yeah
Lord, I miss you child
Aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah
Aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah
Aaah aaah aaah aaah
Lord, I miss you child
Aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah
Aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah
Aaah aaah aaah aaah
Lord, I miss you child
Aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah
Aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah
Aaah aaah aaah aaah

Born in 1974...grew up in the 80s and all its goodness and music.. This was still my favorite. Eemember driving to school in my 1977 Plymouth Roadrunner... listening to this..what a cool vibe it gives.
My dad is African American would have this playing in our house and my aunt had her little dance moves she'd do to this song. This song made it onto the R&B charts so black radio had this song in rotation. To this day this song hits hard. There were quite a few white artist that crossed over to R&B and David Bowie's song "Fame" was one. But of Course The Doobie Brothers, Leo Sayer, and others were rock pop R-B infused so our home was filled with all types of musical genres.

It's one of the best, but this came after the Golden Age of the Rolling Stones had ended, and with classics like "Gimme Shelter", "Can't you Hear me Knocking","Sympathy for the Devil" and "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" it's tough for this track to compete with some of their other greatest hits, but that's just my opinion.

Bill Wyman is a genius with his baselines. Most times I take time to learn them but something about this one makes me just forget it and get down with just enjoying the song because it is just so perfectly made.
Genialny zespół, genialna muzyka, ponadczasowy, nieśmiertelny utwór. Historia światowej muzyki rockowej.

For me this a grieving song. Bottomlessly sad. Not to be confused with depression, which is a shrinking thing, I find this expansive. The tempo doesn't ameliorate or apologize, giving permission to go all the way down. So raw it is healing. Lord I miss you child.
99% of people: You can't make a disco blues song. Rolling Stones: Hold our glitter ball and harmonica.
What a song. What a beat. What a vibe. What a groove. 😏😏😏

What a Decade ,,, The 70s KICKED ASS
I got to see the Stones in concert a couple years back, and it was an awesome experience. Mick Jagger's almost 80 years old now, but he was making moves as though he was still in his 20s. And when they played this song and the bass player got to go all out, it was amazing
I give it two thumbs up at any time

Just saw the stones in concert in Orlando Florida with Tyler Childers. I can't believe those 80-year-olds are still moving around like they are. Fantastic show, they make great music.
Went to my first Stones concert in 2021.... fortunate to see them again live tonight in 2024

One word to describe this band. Revolutionary.
When I saw the Stones in Leeds in 1982 I just wanted 2 songs, this and start me up. We went home happy as they played both. Thanks guys.
Well, it doesn’t really matter what year you were born because you will always be listening to rock ‘n’ roll music whether it’s the 50s 60s 70s will always listen to and I know a lot of these young people like listening to old music
“Oh, everybody waits too long” line hits me soooo very hard😭😭😭♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

Makes me think of anxiety attacks & breakdowns. And being young in front of a public that has no real clue. So you just laugh out of awkwardness bc 🤷 it's just the right thing to do./ "Like a mad woman(man) laughing at the rain" -
Charlie Watts left this sorrowful old world behind today. He was a REAL musician...he didn't just beat the crap outa the skins for the sake of the macho-moronic noise of it all. He made his drumming an art form unique to him, & to the Stones' amazing sounds. The quiet folks are always the strongest folks.💪🏽 Rock on in Peace, dear Charlie. You will always be remembered; you will forever be missed. Rock on. 💜🥁🙏🎶💓 🎵🤟🏾🥁💚

Charlie was a god. The man added so much to the Stones’ sound. Mick and Keith get the press (and Ronnie when he joined really meshed beautifully with them, blending in with Keith better than Taylor). But Charlie Watts was their secret weapon. The man was simultaneously always in the pocket, yet had tremendous feel. If today’s drummers aren’t studying him very closely, they’re missing out. RIP, Charlie.

One of my earliest childhood memories is of my Mom and I dancing (I remember the bump, to be exact) to this!!! Still brings tears of joy to my face!!!! Fast forward 45-50 years and still listening!!!
It’s Oct. 1989, I’m 19 and was the 92nd caller to win tickets from KOMP Vegas for the show at the Coliseum. I thought they were old then. Who knew they’d still be kickin all these years later. God Bless em ✌🏼.

I've been holding out so long I've been sleeping all alone Lord I miss you I've been hanging on the phone I've been sleeping all alone I want to kiss you Well, I've been whoring in my sleep You've been starring in my dreams Lord I miss you tonight I've been waiting in the hall Been waiting on your call When the phone rings It's just a friend of mine that say "Hey, what's the matter, man? We're gonna come around at twelve With some Puerto Rican girls that are just dyin' to meet you We're gonna bring a case of wine Hey, let's go mess and fool around You know, like we used to" Ooh baby why you wait so long Oh baby why you wait so long Won't you come home, come home I've been walking in Central Park Singing after dark People think I'm crazy Stumbling on my feet Shuffling through the street Asking people, "What's the matter with you, boy?" Sometimes I want to say to, to myself Sometimes I say I guess I'm lying to myself It's just you and no one else Lord I won't miss you child Yeah, you been messin' with my mind Foolin' with my time I'll miss you baby Lord, I miss you child Lord, I miss you child Lord, I miss you child Yes, baby
Couldn't do without it today ,my saving grace
