This resonates with me in reality, I'm the only fish in the bowl... I'm here in small town India, Noone to share my joys, sorrows, music culture arts with... They just can't appreciate it...the people in my vicinity are all from a very different culture, and I can't go to a big city like Mumbai where i'll find like minded people... To have a beer and pull an all nighters listening to rock n roll

My grandmother was dying of lung cancer and in her final days my father and I brought her home from the hospital so she could die peacefully in her own home. On the car ride back from the hospital she told me to turn on the radio so that she could "hear music one last time", and this song came on the radio. She would die later that evening, some songs are just more important than words man

I never thought I would be writing one of these tear jerkers but here we are. My wife and I both loved this song deeply but for very different reasons. The lines about "did you exchange a walk on part in the war..." spoke to why I got so involved in Covid nursing from day one. I told someone, "It wasn't what I lived for but it was something I trained for." My soulmate however identified with the "two lost souls living in a fish bowl..." Her chronic pain> debility> depression led to her sudden demise. She was buried today. She is now in the arms of Jesus, her Daddy and grandmother. She is out of pain, free of her anxiety and now has the answers to all the questions that vexed her most of her life. She is the Love of my life and will be until we are together again.

My dad played this song on his 70th birthday and I know who he was talking about. It was hard to stay composed. I knew it was for my mom. She passed away when I was 16. They both loved this song. It took everything for me not to break down. I love you mom and dad ❤❤❤❤

I lost the person I loved most in life at the time it was my grandfather , the hardest time of my life I remember listening to this song so distraught, I listened to it over and over every time either with the bottle in my hand trying to drink my sorrows away or with the joint on my lips just trying to get through life with emptiness and pain I felt . Finally 9 years later I can say the pain has subsided but I still miss him a lot

Never! I lost my grandfather Dec 23, and I'd give anything for one more conversation. I loved him more than anything. Today is his birthday, & I actually almost called him. It's crazy he's gone, but I knew we couldn't have him forever. I'm lucky I got to have him into my mid 30s.

I lost my dad 2 days ago on the 31st and we both love pink floyd im 13 and this was one of his fav songs we just got roger water tickets and he had a bad fall causing him to go into a seizure he was 41 turning 42 this september ive been trying very had to avoid pink floyd we would always listen to it but recently i got a early birthday present and it was a guitar my dad always wanted to teach me how to play he would always play wish you were here his celebration of life is going to be in october so im going to learn wish you were here for him and play it at his funeral cause he always played it

Hey man, I feel you. The same thing just happened to me too. I used to listen to this song with my uncle. We would talk about random stuff and remember my grandpa/his dad. I just met him last summer when I moved back up to Maine. He really felt like a father to me in the short time I knew him. He passed 2 days ago. If you need someone to talk to, I’m here man.

My sister passed away 9 years ago.. and this was her favorite song. When I hear it , I feel like she is still here with me..

I’ve struggled with things my whole life: anxiety, depression, you name it. I’ve had things to cope, but nothing quite calms me down like Pink Floyd. I feel like a lost soul swimming in a fish bowl, and it’s comforting to know I’m not alone. Although I’m grown now and have made it through a lot of the difficulties of my youth and adolescence, when I’m down, you can bet on a Pink Floyd album being on my turntable, or in my headphones as I lay there with my eyes closed. Thanks dad, for showing me your favorite band, and now it’s mine. Love you 🖤

i know how it feels, my dad died the day before my birthday when i was turning 6. I'm 16 now and sometimes i just really wish he was still with me.

My dad also really loved Pink Floyd. He even found ways to listen to their music during the Soviet era, when the group was banned. He devoted himself to music as well. Knowing that so many people around the world share the same feelings when listening to this song is amazing and gives a lot of encouragement. My dad passed away two days ago. Thank you dad for showing me good music and for teaching me how to dream.

My all time favorite of Pink Floyd. I lost my husband 12-1/2 years ago and the pain and grief doesn’t go away. But this song helps me as if it was written for me ❤️

And when I talk to the people outside even my closest friends sometimes, I can't recognize them. And I don't even notice that I'm staring at them or not?? So they need to shout at me or snap their fingers at my eyeballs! It's hard

I’m 14 but man this song always just hits. My dad liked this song and we’d play along to it with our guitars all the time, he passed a few months ago and he was still really young. I hear this song it breaks me apart sometimes…hearing it now as I’m a little older and paying more attention to the lyrics it just all comes together, this is truly one of the best songs ever created and im glad that my dad put me on this music, lots of memories i’ll never forget. These times are tougher, as you have less and less of a change to be yourself, and end up being what others want you to be, thinking what others want you to think, and speaking what others want you to speak. Be yourself, follow your instinct. Trust yourself. If you feel you don't fit, don't worry, that's actually a good thing. Depressing and inspiring at the same time..

2 years ago my father died of blood cancer. Everything happened so fast. He passed away week after he diagnosed. Man... how much i miss him... Glad to have a father like him.

My dad died from bladder cancer in november 2017, just 1 week before my graduation after battling it for 4 years. He was 56 and i was 22 being the only son life is hard. I know nobody would care. Just to voice out. Miss you dad hope you are doing ok up there, no more pain no more suffering. :') Edit: i really don't expectto get this much likes. I really miss my dad. Sometimes i will be alone in my dads room talking to the air, imagining how he would talk back to me while avoid my mum noticing to not make her sad. I can't bear more than 5 second looking at my dad tomb stone without crying. Life is hard carrying all sorts of burden while being step by other and being talk bad by others for applying leaves for my dads funeral. Theres no one you can rely on no one you can talk to, Because everyone have their own problem and no one care about others.. I hope everyone who had lost someone to have a great life ahead. Sorry for my bad English. English is not my first languange

I agree with this 110%... I'd give almost anything to go back to save her.. if I'd have just went in her room to say goodnight like I always did... but not that night.. she loved Pink Floyd. Her mom and step-dad were famous rock n roll photographers and boy, the life she had was astonishing! The things people dream of doing were day to day normal life for her... I was so lucky to have her in my life. Either I lived with her or she with me all my 33 years of life (I'm now 34 but she passed while I was 33, Oct 1st 2022). I completely understand what you mean. I'm sorry for your loss too, darlin. I hope you find peace and have support. Your parent(s) would not want you to stay heartbroken and sad. They always wanted you to be happy, healthy and do well for yourself, I just KNOW it. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
