i always wondered this but which one is considered better? Cedar Point or Magic Mountain? I been to CP twice but never been to MM. however i want to go to MM so badly!

Props to Chris for pulling out the Pythagorean Theorem.

I immediately had a stupid idea watching this. Top thrill dragster, but it provides a 1-way trip to the back half of the park, and goes back and forth as a quick travel option through the park. Call it, "Top Thrill Transport."

The fact that Gemini still has 45 seconds without those turnarounds is pretty amazing. And it Still manages to be fun during those, with trash talking the other sides and high fiving them.

Unfortunately, Gemini hardly ever runs both tracks anymore, making most of the fun of the coaster voided. I'm lucky that Cedar Point is my home park, and man do I miss the good Gemini days

@@alexsmith7387 it does suck, but when it does, it is so good. I wonder why they only run 1 side sometimes. It doesn't seem like it is a maintenenfe nightmare like the 400 ft monster in front of it. Idk. I am not a ride Op.

@@zachcoastercrazy4032 it's demand. 95% of the time Gemini is a walk on, and they don't bother running both sides until its like a 20 minute wait. Now my impression might be skewed, I'm local so I only go on Tuesday or Wednesday so the park is relatively empty but even when I go at peak it's usually a walk on. And that makes sense, you could ride Gemini 3 times or Millennium.

@@alexsmith7387 Same. I'm local too, and I usually go around those times during the week. The only times I've seen it running both trains has been during some halloweekends, and during peak times in the summer, like July 4th. Though since Steel Vengance opened, there's been more traffic. I didn't catch more than 1 train running most of the times I went in 2019. I didn't go in 2020, but I'll be going this year. It'll probably pick up a lot because of the gold passes for 2020 that a lot of people didn't use.

@@alexsmith7387 I was there late on Saturday night a few weeks ago - got to relive the 80s of hand-slapping perfect strangers on the eternal red-blue train race.

The slow turnarounds on Gemini are for talking crap to your buddies and trying to reach for high fives! Also it's kinda crazy Magnum is 6th in height, a lot of parks don't even have one coaster over 200 feet.

It’s weird to see the kiddie coaster being called Wilderness run. It’ll always be junior gemini to me.

This series makes my statistics/science brain so happy.

I love how the park where Intamin built their first coaster is the same pari where they would later build Millenium Force and Top Thrill Dragster, and that you can see the latter two in the distance when riding the former. Its just a perfect way for Intamin to say "started from the bottom, now we here"

I will now call Steel Vengeance Meaner Streak. I’m now convinced that should have been its name 😂

I've been visiting CP since 1988. It's absolutely insane how this park has evolved.

I’ve had it happen to me before. Back in 2016. I was the first train of the day, and I had it all to myself. Yes, I did get a zen ride on Maverick. There was nobody else around when I got there, so I was able to get it. I think the reason it stalled is because they were probably getting the train after me ready to go, so I was waiting in there for a decent amount of time before launching.

The 17 seconds on TTD look like the best 17 seconds in the park

I think with Maverick, you have to take into account that 90% of the time, that second launch is a rolling launch where the train doesn’t slow down that much. The only time is really slows down before the second launch is if it’s raining, or if they’re having slow dispatches.

If he found prime ride time on a B&M Hyper, he would just count the entire ride all the way till it hits the trip camelback then leave the rest out.

It’s hard to believe that Magnum- a frickin hyper, is only 6th in the park for height.

It really blew my mind to see Maverick at 7th (at the time this was made- RIP Wicked Twister) in speed at 70 mph! Never really thought about it like that. Superlatives all around. Just an embarrassment of riches for the roller coaster Mecca. I can't wait to go back.

I’m surprised that Raptor falls behind Gatekeeper in pacing. Maybe it’s the intensity of the ride that makes it feel magnitudes faster that Gatesleeper.

Only thing I would say is that with maverick, you shouldn’t have used the official pov. In that video the train crawls through the brakes before the launch, but it does not do that when operating, at least usually. It’s very rare to go that slow through there

Since I haven't seen this yet, I'll probably delete this comment: The most important ignored stat is when drop whenever only the height is mentioned and it's more than the drop (The best example of this is Max XL-200 which has a drop of slightly over 194')
