I live in this area. Have not fished the Henry's Fork before but the Madison is my favorite. Although not on Highway 20, the Big Hole and Gallatin Rivers in the area are phenomenal fisheries as well. The Big Hole can have one of the best Salmon Fly hatches in the west.

I've always said that US30 is the waterfowl highway in Idaho and now can add Highway 20 as the flyfishing highway. I live 30 minutes south of highway 20 in Idaho, 60 minutes from Silver Creek, 1.5 hours to the Big Lost, 60 minutes to the SF Boise and all the other diverse fisheries in Southern Idaho. It truly is a paradise for trout fly fishing and low key an amazing area for sight fishing carp, decent bass, great crappie and perch fishing. With all of this I'd still give it all up to go fish salt flats the rest of my life.

If I win the lottery tonight, this is going to be the road trip next summer!

I didn't win the lottery but I'm fishing for the rest of my life, been fishing for 30 years so far, nearly every week.

Wish the fish and wildlife in various states would be more concerned about preserving cuttthroat than non native species.

World Record Brook Trout came from Ontario's Nipigon River....14 lbs 9 oz...
