when cutting rock or anything with crystalline silica in it you need to wear a mask! This coming from a safety mgr/director of 40 years! You are one of the hardest workers I have ever seen!!
Checking in with SM outpost 😊
Good work on the gas line.

Fantastic hook-up Richard, it's great you had a lifelong friend to give you a hand and get the install right and everything up and running. That is a BIG accomplishment and will keep you going around there. Stay safe around there and enjoy the appliances and how much better they make life easier for you all. Something that could take any worry out of the outside lines freezing is insulating them with water line insulation, it's easily installed and in a cold windy condition will really protect the lines. Stay safe and keep up the good work around there. Fred.

Hard job
Richard, one of the main reasons that I subscribe and watch your channel is that your planning, preparation, and organizational skills are second to none. It was the late great basketball coach (John Wooden) who said: “failure to prepare is preparing to fail”. May God continue to bless you and your entire family.

Awe! You don’t see me off camera wondering what day it is, lol
Very good idea of installing the tanks outside the house. It was incredible how that part broke in two.
Good afternoon SMO.. I would say it’s combination of both strong tractor and inferior parts they just don’t make stuff like they used to.. thanks for the video have a great weekend..

I used to run gas lines in mobile home factor in the late 60s, kinda aged myself. We always had to put a tee with a plug in it every time we changed directions going up into the home because of condensation. The tee was actually being useful as a moisture trap. Times change, I'm sure. That ground of yours is hard... great job, enjoy watching.

@@SmokyMountainOutpost Up here in NE MN we have -50 occasionally. Lots of exterior propane lines. No issues unless...you have a high use appliance pulling from too small of a gas tank.
Nice fridge

always something to do on the homestead! If you can deepen the root cellar a couple of tanks could be unstaed at the back this extra room would have water on hand for garden? washing and would be insulated well enough to prevent freezing yet cool enough to not promote bacteria growth...@@SmokyMountainOutpost easily available for chlorination during warmer weather...
I'm really surprised that the local equipment rental place didn't have pipe cutting and threading tools to rent... No matter, you got it in...

This video is a gas😅👍
A man spent 1 and Half days digging a trench 20 yards long and had only got about 1 third of the when his spade shaft broke. In anger he threw it across the yard and started off the job. His boss shouted after him” hi Sammy we’ll get you a JCB” Sammy shouted back “ you can stuff your dam medal”
Good video and Job I think the top link was weak the dealer may make it good. I have never broke one. How have they been using plastic gas line? Take care be safe and well

Meu amigo onde está a máscara para se proteger do pó da pedra durante o corte? Este pó se entrar nos pulmões é a mesma coisa que inalar asbesto.

Maybe it may be a small consolation to know I don’t breath during cuts. If I need air I usually stop, walk away and do so
Your tractor is strong but the issue is the parts are cheap. I am having the same problem. Much better than digging all by hand lol

A man was connecting a gas cooker in his house and it exploded which shoot him right out through he roof and up into the sky. At the same time a man had jumped out of a plane to parachute but it didn’t open. The two me passed by each other and the man who’s cooker blew up shouted “do you know anything about gas cooker?”and the guy from the plane shouted Back. “ no, do you know anything about parachutes?”

I’ve seen a lot of gas and fire accidents working the field and hope that never happens.
Hard work hand digging that trench Richard you should of had some young help
I watched your video and couldn't help to stop by and give a little advice about the material you chose at the tanks and I believe the line you said you used to run from the crawlspace to your future gas logs. Black rubber hoses are a huge NO! Mice, boomers, squirrels and other critters love chewing that kind of material. Outside is one thing if they chew through it but you definitely don't want that chewed in the crawlspace. I have been in the gas service business for 24 years and can't tell you how many times I've seen this. Be very careful! I would hate to see you hurt first and foremost but also to see all your work destroyed from something that could have been avoided. Copper tubing would work best for both of these areas when running black pipe isn't an option

Thanks for the tip.

...one word: silicosis. Breathing protection should be used when cutting rock; whether it be imitation, or the real thing. The dust solidifies in the lungs, like concrete, and cannot be removed. I know folk who have died prematurely because of this. Please be careful. Loving your channel. Great work.
I dont think you use Teflon tape on gas lines ? I believe you use pipe dope on the threads.
@SmokyMountainOutpost
10 ай бұрын
It needs to be gas tape. It is thicker and has a chemical that causes it not to react with gas.
You have got to be slap wore out !
I have been watching u from Australia, ever since u first started building your cabin & I find myself asking u as here in my Country u can not use tape as a sealer for gas lines. We use a liquid paste that never actually goes hard but seals the joints better than tape which btends ton drien out & leak after a few years & can become dangerous around open flames, plus I see u have an extraudinary amount of joins which add to the posability of leaks. I would hate to see what u have built in a few years down the track.

The gas tape I was using is very common here. It is thicker than others and usually wrap about five times. Pipes held good at 100 PSI over time so consider it holding well. I do have to find a different flex/steel hose for the floor.
