A run starting with ludovico would be cool since its usually ignored but it can be fun and good if you get the proper synergies like homing and good shot speed

there is this one item that make your tears attach to opponent and do boom after some time, I haven't played repentance, but I hope they changed it's synergy with it (it was basically swallowing your tear till it exploded

There's a streamer on Twitch, andvil82, who currently has around a 560 win streak starting with chaos as Eden. Kicker is it's a hoarder streak so he's forced to take all items that spawn, even if they're bad items.

I have come to a conclusion from my forgotten experience so far every run is either a good bone synergy item (knife, haemo, etc) at the very start or the most infuriating aneurysm-inducing difficult run of your life until you die on floor 3

talking about the fact you mentionned suggesting ideas for less OP starting items, what about starting with tractor beam? I feel like that item is underrated, like it adds 1 to the tear cap and makes all familiars that copies your tears shoot into the beam, also conjoined basically triples your damage like a better triple shot more accurate and without the fire rate down, also same with wiz shot, also it forces tiny planet to shoot straight and makes montsro's lung into an insane shotgun without the range downside....etc

@@vq3348 I found out half by watching tons of isaac vids and half by myself while playing the game, and yeah a surprising amount of good synergies with that item

I do wanna see more of these “challenges” they are very fun!

7:30 my favourite item in the game (even though it’s not that broken) is spoon bender. Hominy just makes the run a lot more fun and easier for me without making it an insta win

Ok now that Matt had covered all the pretty good items, he needs to start a run with everything combined. Glitch Crown + Sacred Orb + Damogus + Rock Bottom. For a more reasonable experiment, start with PhD. It's basically the Sacred Orb for pills.

Alright so Matt I was sitting here thinking about what item you should start with and I was thinking tarnished keeper steam sale, and let it RIDE because I have a feeling that you can get some amazing rig potential and it'll just be entertaining as all balls...but I wanna see you only ONLY turnover the shop and of course you can turnover for keys to get the item room coins. Some starting items people don’t really talk about but are goated in the right scenarios: mega mush, Isaac’s tomb, flip, mega blast, bag of crafting, binge eater, last but not least 🅱️alls. Would love to see a tainted/regular keeper + balls or like a mega mush/blast + no! trinket run. Not as flashy but for starting/carry items they pop off

Spindown dice would be an interesting start. Spindown is the one item that can give you insane items from absolutely nothing.

Hey Matt, a really fun item to start out with is Kamikaze! with Tainted Keeper. You basically play like a bomber and heal with whatever drops from enemies. And since it gives you access to most secret rooms, you'll have a fun but dangerous run.

I would love to see runs with the Easter egg codes. Especially ones that make things more interesting, like every item is blind for the whole run.

I wonder if a better test would be to pick one of the “rigging” items to start with but prevent the others from spawning in the run. See which carries harder on its own.

Hey Matt, here’s a suggestion. If you re-do the testing on another character, you should remove all non-highlighted items from the run. For example, if you start with glitched crown, then don’t pick up damocles, rock bottom, or sacred orb during the run. That way you can really test them in a vacuum.

I'd honestly be down to see you try "What item would you get from death certificate" runs with either of the Bethanies, due to them being so reliant on their spacebar items and using an important pickup as a secondary fuel for charges, or either of the Judases, due to them being so obscenely strong offensively off the bat, that defense is arguably the better option to pick from.
