I really hated that Kimmel comment and it really shows he doesn't understand at all what he's talking about. In a single bad joke he undercuts an entire industry with some of the best movies of the year. Better than many many live action movies.
This film made me ugly cry I had to sit at my desk and hold my head in my hands

on my first day when i saw the rough animation i cried the same. I cried everytime in the process. For the story (and the hard work...), for the characters. I feel you and your comment made me cry. THANK YOU

@@Papillotte_SubatomiqueI just saw the film in theaters and I am crying while writing this. The film let me process and grieve a lot of my estranged friendships that I never got a real goodbye for idk how to explain what I’m feeling I just really needed it. I’ve been crying since I left the theater and hour ago and I don’t think I’m stopping anytime soon. Sorry if this is incoherent I’m ugly crying right now so I’m not making the most sense.

really lovely video. i love the way you describe their relationship being derived from their activities, dreams, and the music they share. i think the film being silent really amplifies how palpable their love for each other is, as they communicate in touches, gestures, and exchanged looks. it makes their interactions with each other so purposeful, intentional, and so intimate. i think i cried multiple times during the beginning of the movie because of how tender they were with each other. it was so rare.
Heartwarming. Heartbreaking. Gorgeous. Wise. Beautiful.
Ah yes, the greatest film of all time The Meg 2 But in all seriousness Animation is such an amazing medium, hope that the oscars actually treat it more as a proper medium rather than something just for kids. Hoping that people's perspective on animation change since it's such an amazing medium and Robot Dreams just shows that. Much love man keep up with the high quality content
Yeah I loved Robot Dreams, glad to see the nomination gave it a little popularity boost. That said the REAL underrated animated gem of 2023 was The Peasants, somehow that ended up being my favourite movie of the year
Robot Dreams has effected me so much emotionally, and artistically as someone who wants to go into animation. The story is so beautiful and SPOILERS!!! . . . . . But I can't even watch the movie again without needed to pause when Robot gets left on the beach by Dog, just because I know how either or them feel in their situation, and the movie just makes me cry in such a good way. I'm sorry I should've won
I recommended this movie to my robotics teacher, she doesn’t watch many animated movies but this was like the only exception, she loved and now she’s putting us an assignment based on this movie ^^
I'm so glad I found your channel through the "Let it happen" edit, both of your video essays have been BANGERS! I got to see this film in a completely empty cinema and it left me with so much emotion. What a bittersweet end to this stage of Dog/Robot's lives. Animation is fantastic.

romantic or platonic, at the end of the day i saw "companionship" as the heart of the film. love that the film is able to let you interpret both.

tbh their relationship to me came off like an absolute representation of companionship, both as friends and romantic partners. they were a couple to me!

This film was awesome just watched over the weekend.
i love Mysterio he was so good in that one movie where he was jake geniehul. i like that he was mocap person and he was so bad, like a villain. i swear he had me quaking in my boots in the theaters in 2019, that faithful before covid. i like to think that mysterio was the reason for covid, but that is my opinyon. it reminds that marvel is sometimes like real life, which is why i love this game. lets keep this alive squaddies !! avengers assembol. youre welcome for good english
