The Road to Shumbulak 1 | Дорога на Шымбулак 1

Climbing the road to Shumbulak from Medeu was a little tough and I was breathing quite hard. Unfortunately, my Camea's microphone picked it all up and ruined the nature walk. So, to compensate, I placed some soft music to cover it up. I am very sorry for using random music on this video and hope it adds to the feeling of being there and not distract you from enjoying it.
Climbing Medeu up to Shumbulak is very difficult for those who are not used to hiking or mountain climbing but it is worth it. Medeu is a popular tourist destination all year round and is a favorite place for the locals to go ice skating during the winter. In warm temperatures, it is very beautiful and green. Today you will how green the Moutains are, how clean the air is and how friendly the locals are.

"Kazakhstan, officially the Republic of Kazakhstan, is a landlocked country mostly in Central Asia, with a part in Eastern Europe. It borders Russia to the north and west, China to the east, Kyrgyzstan to the southeast, Uzbekistan to the south, and Turkmenistan to the southwest, with a coastline along the Caspian Sea. Its capital is Astana, while the largest city and leading cultural and commercial hub is Almaty. Kazakhstan is the world's ninth-largest country by land area and the largest landlocked country. It has a population of 20 million and one of the lowest population densities in the world, at fewer than 6 people per square kilometre.Ethnic Kazakhs constitute a majority, while ethnic Russians form a significant minority. Officially secular, Kazakhstan is a Muslim-majority country, although ethnic Russians in the country form a sizeable Christian community."
"Almaty, formerly known as Alma-Ata , is the largest city in Kazakhstan, with a population of over two million. It was the capital of Kazakhstan from 1929 to 1936, while the country was an autonomous republic of the Soviet Union, then from 1936 to 1991, a union republic and finally from 1991, an independent state. In 1997, the government relocated the capital to Akmola (now called Astana)"

The interaction that starts at kzread.info/dash/bejne/i2ZpsrKBpq6ffbg.html where you're speaking (Russian?) with the local is fascinating! More of that please! In my personal opinion, think people would love to see both him and you conversing---even though it's a walkabout video! I know I would!

Yes, we were speaking in Russian (and a bit of Kazakh Language). Actually, I was going to cut out that part because I thought it would be very distracting for viewers. But had I done this, then it meant I would have to Re-Record from scratch at the bottom and up to the top of the mountain (part two coming soon). Mountain climbing is not my strength. Well, I hope it is a testimony that my language learning methods do work even if it is unorthodox.
