And I enjoy translating them. The OP basically tells Naofumi's feelings about what he lost and how he wants to get them back. And the part that sounds like "furrr" is actually "rise suddenly in this world". Engrish kinda annoys me really. Especially when I try to understand the lyrics.

Now I have read the later chapters and its gotten a lot better but those early chapters weren’t the best. I’m not saying it’s bad just I like the anime art style better

@@lvstinger5838 there was more cathartism portrayed with the way the manga was drawn. I don't mind the anime but it feels like it's pulling it's punches in the facial expressions department. The manga had Naofumi's face brimming with anger and hatred to an extreme extent given the situation. I still like the anime but it feels a bit more stoic and lackluster. Also my nitpick but I like the way the eyes were drawn in the manga. Kinda captures the shift from naive innocent to the Naofumi we have now. It really does look like the light is gone from his eyes while the other heroes still have glimmering pupils

The last scene in the OP just brings tears. The rage, the peaceful memory of young Raphtalia, the epic transition between young and old as well as subconscious memory and the present, culminating in bringing him back from the rage just brings out the feels. This is one of the coolest OP's I have seen that goes so well with the music. And the rap portion is epic too.

I actually like their characters after they fix themselves, especially Motoyasu. Besides they all have their reasons for being the way they are, all of them fix themselves after suffering hardships. Naofumi was similar to them at first as well, its just that he didn't get a chance to be spoiled unlike the other heroes.

For those wondering why it says v2. It's probably, because the one they uploaded before this was taken from the end of episode one where the end credits were scrolling past. This is the actual op that plays at the beginning. You can take a look at both. If I were them I would just delete the old one and keep this one up since it doesn't have so many of the ending credits and just upload the actual ed of the show too.

That's the entire point of the series. The name is The Rise of the Shield Hero after all. It's him going from nothing to the top.

@@pheonix_soldier You really can. You can't count Pokemon because Pokemon went drastically down hill, and it's an extremely long running show, like Naruto and One piece. Comparing them to shows that won't go on nearly as long is ridiculous.

The bigger problem with this anime is that it has only 12 episodes. I wish it had like 50. And even worse I'm scared it's not going to get a second season. It better. Edit: never mind it's actually getting 25 episodes total

After seeing the first 6 episodes I am really looking forward to seeing where this series is headed. It has a ton of potential. Can't wait.

I find it funny. This anime has controversy over "women don't do false accusations" and slavery but this community is the most protective of any girl (Raphtallia) I have seen. Kind of awesome in my opinion.

Man I read the manga since it first got scanlated and I must say, I can't believe we got such a great isekai anime that is so incredibly faithful to the source material it honestly makes me want to cry as a fan of Light Novels, Manga, and of course, Anime. Isekai is finally going to "rise" and become amazing once again... 😭

This is faithful to the LN. Different than the manga. Kinema studios is very good about being faithful to their source. Look at Made In Abyss. Almost a 1:1 translation.

No only are they loyal to the source material but they also made it great. I'm truly glad that they aren't wasting it.

For the people who haven’t realized what the difference is, this version has removed the wall of text that the credits were, I actually had to go and search up the first version to see the difference lol.

The web novel is superb

Everybody is talking about how cool this opening is. but nobody is talking about Raphtalia at 0:00 seconds.

Protecting that smile is priority one!

Literally every time i hear this song i remember the beautiful days in 2019 And my tears suddenly form from non-existence

Man this is the best opening I really love this anime and can't wait for more

For some reason that last 5 or so seconds of this theme song always makes me cry. I love the relationship between Raphtalia and Naofumi so much.
