In Finland we were following Laine's carreer so close and Rantanen just went under the radar and got to a superstar level without anyone noticing, im happy he's getting attention now. LETS GO AVS!

@@DiegoPujolT I would say Puljujärvi, Barkov, Saros and Heiskanen at least. Tough some thought that Saros is too small to play in NHL. What comes to upcoming prospects, I would say Aron Kiviharju.

@@disfiguredbee5150 brooooooooo.... Yeah people knew that Rantanen can be solid top 6 forward, but being 100+ points forward, I doubt. He didn't put amazing numbers when he was still playing in Finnish Liiga

@@disfiguredbee5150 He was on the third line in the 2016 IIHF WJC team that included Laine, Aho, Puljujärvi, Kapanen, and Hintz. He was the captain, but apparently he wasn’t as good as the rest back then (and he was already drafted to the NHL!). Awesome to see, though, he’s one of my favorite players right now.

He makes Finland proud, a real superstar finnish player.

I ran into Mikko at Chipotle in Cherry Creek and he was such a cool, down to earth guy. Very humble which is a common thing with hockey players, but rare to see these days out and about. Dude just wants to have fun, work hard, and live life.

us avs fan are really just lucky to have mikko on the team. He's that special✨

I'm honestly thrilled we have so many fantastic guys on this team. I wouldn't trade this roster for anything.

Most likely they will have to trade some key guys in couple of years which makes me sad. Too many great players, such a small small salary cap.

This team is like the old avs from the late 90s early 2000's just an amazing group of talent.

Mikko's development into a certified Superstar is a testament to the Avs patience and development. Well done!

The title implies my guy is just now making waves, but he has always been this solid. Either way, Mikko was the first Av I latched on to since the Sakic era when I got back into hockey(and was old enough to understand and appreciate it more) and he has not disappointed. So glad Colorado has him. THE MOOSE IS LOOSE!!

If not for Mikko we are not even in the playoff picture IMO. During our stretch without 9 starters including MacKinnon and the captain Landeskog, who remains out, it was Mikko who was scoring and giving the Avs his all each and every game. The players all speak highly of him saying he is a better person off the ice than he is on the ice because he is such a good friend. Incredible that someone would say that about the top scorer who just recorded his 40th against the Golden Knights.

And with all the hype over 50 goals-rightfully so-almost nobody has mentioned hes only 2 points away from 100 also. With Mckinnon already there-itd be only the 2nd time 2 Avs ever hit 100 in the same season. Forsberg,& Sakic only did that in 1995-96. Granted,if not for Forsbergs many injuries,or Sakic only playing 58 games in Forsbergs 2003 Hart season-those 2 wouldve done it several times. But that could also be said about Mckinnon,& Rantanen. If not for injuries,COVID,shortened seasons-they also wouldve likely done it before this yr. But well done Mico...how spoiled are we to get to watch probably 3 of the top 10...15 at worst-players on earth in Makar,Mckinnon,& Rantanen. Its why NOBODY wants to play the defending champs 1st round,& why the superior Eastern conference is hoping somebody knocks off the Avs. Most the fans,& media of Eastern teams know that whoever survives the east,the only western team that remotely scares them is a reasonably healthy Colorado. Avs ceiling is far higher than anybody in a west full of good teams,but short on great teams.

Dunno much bout basketball but id say he drops 3 pointers all day. Most goals by a far margin on his team filled with superstars, powerforward with amazing shot and great playmaker even though he has less assist this year because he’s been the finisher.
