I have to say, I've been working on how to undo some of the negative effects of technology for so long that I forget that what I am striving for is actually just a new and improved version or "technology" of how to live life. Thanks for bringing more appreciation to the engineers and builders of the world. I will keep working to raise consciousness so that perhaps in the future we can divert more energy from defense into beauty and prosperity. Ride on, earth folk!

Michael is a great example of a dot-connector of the highest level. We are not just witnessing human wisdom at play here but a potent combination of that and an expansive and deep human imagination.

Ok, those reviews at the end of the video are Gold, can’t thank you enough, it does two things: - cements the knowledge hearing it a second time in a less improvised and a more summarized way. - if a long time passed before resuming a video (these series are naturally long), revisiting the topics in this way makes it like having retaking it without the feeling of having had to redo it all over again. My first series watched was the Jason Lowery US Space Force guy, this is my second. The best part of these? It teaches about key aspects of EVERY FREAKING THING Homo sapiens related actually… mostly towards economics (which I can now say that economics is about energy) Came here for a bit of Bitcoin info curiosity… stayed for a whole lot more

Wouldn't suprise me if this series undergoes a somewhat similar trajectory like bitcoin itself. Relatively small but healthy increase of views in the beginning, given its length, dens- and complexity. Once certain network effects gain momentum it then turns into an avalange of wisdom, pouring over everyone who gravitates towards the rabbit hole we all went down one day. Great idea to frame it in such a series and add your reflection at the end, Robert. You truly unleaashed the beast. Epic. Thanks so much for this inestimable value. SO IMPORTANT WHAT IS BEING DONE HERE! Everything is technology and everyone is an engineer.

One problem: medieval Europeans never forgot that the Earth is spherical (just look at their paintings of Christ in glory, who holds a spherical world in his hand). Columbus had difficulty securing funding for his voyage not because investors thought he'd sail off the edge of a flat earth, but because they knew the circumference was too big for Columbus to make it all the way to India before running out of supplies. Lucky for Columbus that the Americas were 1/3 of the way there to save him from deprivation. This may seem like a minor point compared to the main arc, but it's enough to make me have to question many of Saylor's other vignettes that I'm less familiar with. He's obviously very successful and wise, and I think his main thrust is on point, but this unfortunate error of medieval flat-eartherism is going to require a lot of extra verification work.

The same goes with Native American civilizations not having the knowledge of using the wheel vertically. They knew about it but What they did not have was beasts of burden. Before the arrival of Eurasian animals the only large domesticate was the llama. Most pre-modern civilizations that used the wheel used it on carts or other wheeled vehicles/wagons pulled by animals (oxen, horses, etc). Since Native Americans had no such domesticates (llamas being ill-tempered and the Andes being highly mountainous) they did not use the wheel in the same way as Old World groups. One of the most common uses of the wheel in the Americas was for children's toys. I like Michael Saylor veery much but know I have to fact check every claim he does!

I truly am fascinated by the various stitching together of select human experiences to meet one’s endpoint. As the saying goes, ‘Hindsight is 20/20.’ However, I, too, have contemplated the thought of why did many cultures have abstained from wheeled vehicle production when, as in the case of the potter’s ‘wheel’, a spinning disc (ie. boulders down a hill, the sun, moon, whirlpools, etc.) are right in-your-face. We just should not be so uppity as to ignore our present condition will be as viewed by future thinkers as to things obvious to them obscure to us now. On an island, perhaps our ancestors were remnants of a ‘wheeled’ enlightened society that rose to the heights of exquisite near total human mass extinction (ie. nuclear/atomic bombs). I missed mind-reading class, thank God! You humans are quite the good faith bad faith 2 sided ‘coin’. Oh! Try using ENSLAVED over slave; cause MOST ARE DEBT ENSLAVED. Desideratum is rampant. Great discussions. From 🌺 🌺

The monopolization and demonopolization section of this vid reminded me of Tesla being a good modern example of that idea. they developed and set the standards for electric car companies. Then Elon Musk released his patents for others to use (went open source) to see if they can build on to what he has built in a better way. seems like open source is the way to go to create healthy long lasting network effects in tech/ new innovations.

Fascinating episode. Michael's knowledge on history is incredibly enlightening for this discussion. The idea of storing or perserving energy is really what technology innovation is all about is really a mind melting idea I've only started to understand since bitcoin. I would really like to know Saylor's thoughts on how he thinks about POW in bitcoin vs POS consensus mechanisms in regards to preserving energy. To me, these do it a similar functions, but their energy preservation methods are capturing different types of energy or have a different energy storage value prop.

Here's another one - the ancient Sumerians had a basic printing press and wheel in the same device. They had carved cylinders, which they rolled into clay and printed texts. But they didn't have paper, supposedly, so they were limited to insanely sophisticated clay tablets. Lucky for us, cuz a lot of them survived to the present.

I love the engineer brain of Michael Saylor, he is super sharp. I wonder what the auto ignition temperature of air is. Imagine you are flying a jet at 500 miles per hour, that is a lot of air pressure feeding your turbine engine that then will compress that air 60 times. A Diesel engine compress air just 20 times and that alone causes fuel to ignite when sprayed into the combustion chamber. Now, 500 MPH and 60:1 compression rate is way different than a diesel 20:1

Not sure if you know but my ancestors (ojibway) used the ground for a freezer. They would dig holes in the ground, chop ice from the frozen lakes and fill the holes with ice, keeping their meats preserved all summer. this was still practiced on my reserve until we got hydro in the 1950's. We were experts with the land. Much of our history cannot be found in a museum, thats the colonizer version of our history.

Looking for a response from anyone who can provide some rational objective answers. During this very worthwhile presentation I heard Michael Saylor say that he believes in the spinning globe theory. Some basic questions come to mind: #1: The rules of math teach us that on a spinning globe each different latitude necessarily exists at a different radius from a common axis. This means that Ecuador must necessarily be spinning noticeably faster than Mexico, and Mexico must necessarily be spinning noticeably faster than Alaska. How is it possible for an airplane traveling in a North-South direction to successfully go to their destination while flying across so many different latitude spin speeds? And how can that airplane land on a runway that is oriented North-South when that runway is continually moving in a direction that is perpendicular to the path of the airplane? #2: The rules of physics teach us that if we place a vacuum adjacent to a non-vacuum, the particles present in the non-vacuum must necessarily disperse into the vacuum unless there is a strong enough sealed physical barrier in place between the two volumes. So how is it possible for the globe atmosphere to violate this rule while being adjacent to the vacuum of outer space? #3: The rules of math teach us that a globe of approx 3920 miles radius will have a surface curvature of 8 inches per mile squared. Accordingly, if an object is 100 miles away from the viewer, the math equation of 100miles x 100miles x 8inches x 1foot/12inches dictates that the object must necessarily be hidden behind 6,600 feet of curvature. But there exists abundant photographic and video evidence of people using a telescope or zoom lens while directly viewing an object that is 100 miles away from them, such as an island or a coastal city or a boat. In these photos and videos, why is the curvature not present and why is the viewer able to see the object that is 100 miles away from them? #4: While standing in one's yard and looking up at the night sky, one can view a star. According to the spinning globe theory, some particular stars are a billion or more miles away from the viewer. 60 minutes time elapses and the viewer can still see that same star oriented in about the same location in the sky. If the globe equator is spinning at 1,000 miles per hour, how is this unchanged viewing of that distant star possible? If the globe is spinning at 1,000 miles per hour while simultaneously the globe is orbiting the Sun at 67,000 miles per hour, how is it possible for the viewer to look out at the night sky on several consecutive nights and each night that same star appears in approximately the same viewed location. It is a billion miles away from the viewer, while the viewer's location is locally spinning, while the entire globe is rapidly changing it's orientation to that star. This theory seems impossible. #5: A premise of the spinning globe theory is that the sun is a glowing collection of hot gas and/or plasma largely consisting of hydrogen and helium. So how is it possible for the non-solid contents of the sun to be adjacent to the vacuum of outer space while also not dispersing into that vacuum? If it's a big collection of nuclear explosions how does it keep itself together? If it's dynamically gaseous or dynamically molten as claimed, how can it possibly be expected to generate gravitational pull on the Earth which is 93 million miles away? How can the Sun's gravitational pull on the Earth remain consistent if the Sun is dynamically gaseous or dynamically molten as claimed? How can the Sun preserve its size, behavior, and character if it is dynamically gaseous or dynamically molten as claimed? #6: The images of a globe earth that have been provided by NASA over many years are admitted by NASA to be CGI fabricated images rather than real photographs. When their own supplied CGI images are compared with one another, they contain important inconsistencies such as North America appearing 30% or 50% larger on the same diameter sphere. If the space station is truly in space, and the Hubble telescope is truly in space, and a variety of probes and rockets have truly traveled into space, why is there a total absence of real unaltered photographs of the globe Earth? #7: Helium particles each have a mass and balloon material has a mass. And gravity is claimed to attract mass. How is it possible for us to fill a balloon with helium and then observe it moving in violation of the force of gravity? #8: If the earth's atmosphere is truly spinning at the same high speed as the spinning globe, then how is it possible for a person to operate a kite or a sailboat? And how is it possible for a bird to have enough strength to fly opposite to the spin direction?

Utterly amazing. I wonder about the printing press issue though. Isn’t there an argument that there wasn’t sufficient demand for literary product due to the lack of literacy? Yes there were scribes but in the dark ages those were pieces of art. Without demand for mass produced copies of documents there wasn’t sufficient economic incentive?
