How do you like the full ridge kit?

I bought the strap version of the Forged Carbon a few weeks ago and absolutely love it! I ordered the clip separately but haven't bothered to try yet. Our bills in Canada are made of plastic so I find they slide in/out of the strap very nicely but hold securely. One of your previous reviews lead me to this wallet, thank you so much!

Got this thing coming in the mail, to fit in the motorcycle track suit. I'm very excited for its arrival.

I bought my first Ridge wallet about a week ago. I knew when I learned about the carbon fiber Ridge that it was for me. I'd never heard of forged carbon 'til I read about it on their site (before I ever saw this video). It seemed interesting with a nice pattern like plywood vs. osb. But, and I can't remember the source, it was stated that there was no difference in the strength of forged carbon and original cf. So I went with my first choice, the original. I know some have said cf was getting played out. I still like it and think it's a distinct look. So I chose the classic carbon fiber with the strap to cut down on bulk. I'm also going to order a money clip to have the option. Plus I'm going to order a coin slot from the Aviator wallet site to use in my Ridge. As for forged carbon, I think it's very cool it can be made into more things like 3D objects (Wikipedia). Great video.

Thanks for your comment. I haven’t heard of carbon fiber getting played out but I still like it too. But even if the weave version of cf is getting played, the forged or shredded cf is awesome and new enough to get attention.

I just got the forged carbon fiber with the cash strap. Everybody seems to go for the weave and I want to be different. Frankly both the weave AND forged look fantastic!

I was sold and got my 3K weave carbon fiber Ridge wallet in mid May 2020. BTW it's not $115 anymore, now it's $125. I have the optional money clip, but I chose the cash strap for "added sleekness". I know the strap can be awkward to use. I think that's because of how secure it is compared with the clip. You can use it to hold more things, like business cards, receipts, coupons, even a smart tracker. Nothing against forged carbon, but I love the weave pattern. At this point, it distinctly says "carbon fiber". All around, I'm loving this wallet and very glad I got it. Thanks for your videos.

Went with a forged strap instead of the traditional one. If I'm getting a non traditionalist wallet compared to my usual black leather I'm getting the next gen material instead of the black titanium I was thinking of.

I say go for it. I've spent more on a Damascus knife that gets hardly used. At least with a Damascus wallet you would get to show it off and use it a lot more.

Has anyone had issues with the forged carbon fiber and using the money clip? Within a couple of weeks of having it I noticed a bulge in the carbon fiber where the bottom part of the money clip was trying to push thru. After removing the money clip i noticed exactly how bad the bulge was and it has me worried that it will eventually break. Also when I unscrew the 3 screws on that side the holes are already starting to look like they are worn out compared to the screws that don't have tension.

Soooooooooo I got the gun metal titanium version about a year or so ago. But it feels pretty heavy at times but I love it. Buuuut just saw on their website that they re stocked the forged ember!! So I had to purchase

Gonna give this version a try. I bought the black titanium one and I dropped it outside and it got scratched up. This one looks like keys in pocket or dropping wont scuff it up as easy.

The titanium version will scratch easy if it’s in the same pocket as your keys. The cf versions don’t scratch as easy.

Great video! I bought the aluminum one but returned it today for the carbon fibre instead. The aluminium was too heavy for my taste

Is it possible to install both Money strap and clip on both sides of the ridge wallet? I think the clip would be an excellent attachment for my front pocket instead of holding cash.

Dylan Hamilton It’s the same texture as the 3k weave carbon fiber wallet. Not completely smooth but not really textured either. This is my favorite Ridge wallet material.

Hi, does the money clip damage the pants pocket over time due to the clip scraping against the cloth of the pocket? Also does money clip protrusion cause any discomfort when you sit down with the wallet in the front pants pocket?

I’ve had no issues with damaged pockets.

Got my eye on a titanium one. Had my current aluminium with cash strap 7+ years now. Only had to change the elastic twice (last time was last week). Amazing wallets. Not keen on the money clip but that’s personal preference.

Does the money clip version lay flat when laying on the clip side like the cash strap does or is it a little lopsided?

In my opinion, the discontinued forged Damascus feels the most premium. Then the forged cf. Then titanium.

Is the forged carbon fiber stronger than the 3k weave? I went with the titanium because it stopped a .22 and a 9mm bullet. The guy wanted to see how many titanium ridge wallets it would take to stop a bullet. The 22 and 9mm never made it thru the first one.

I am almost decided to get this wallet. however one question still remain, since this is "RFID Protected", is there still a way for a "tap to pay"? I usually tap my card whenever i go to our train/bus station, so not taking the card out of the wallet is less hassle. will the strap option be useful for this?

I need to scan my badge on a card reader when I enter my workplace, and I found that when I place the badge outside of the wallet (on my money clip), the card reader will pick up my badge. Doing this, I can also hide my cash between my wallet and my badge when carrying around 2-3 bills trifolded. I never use cash though. I have been carrying the same $20 bill for two months.

Was this forged carbon just a limited edition? It's sold out on their website. I ended up picking up a burnt titanium one based on your reviews since I've had a carbon fiber weave Humn wallet for a few years now. This forged one also looks tempting if it ever comes back in stock.

They don’t come with both. You need to choose either the strap or the clip.

Technically yes. If you have multiple wallets you could take a plate off and put it on another.

In my opinion absolutely.

I bought a Trayvax Axis wallet, and it just seems heavier than I'd like. This Ridge carbon fiber wallet should be lighter, so I may go for that instead.

Any future plans on reviewing the Stow wallet? Maybe putting it up against other wallets?

Both are great minimalist wallets. My favorite wallet currently has been the Contour and personally I don’t think there’s a better wallet out right now if you’re looking to slim down and want something modern. I love the Ridge but if it’s a contest between the 2, I’d go Contour.

I got a black one because i have no need to a 24K plated wallet lmao....i LOVE how slim and compact it is, but for real, make sure you put your most used card toward one end because getting the middle ones out basically requires pulling them all out and it's kind of a bitch to get the whole stack back in quickly while people are waiting in line. I bought a coach wallet for about the same price and it started to wear down in about a year. This thing looks like it will last a decade

I received my Ridge Carbon Fiber wallet on 11/7/2020. While I'm pleased with the wallet I'm not pleased with the T5 Torx bit screwdriver included. Every Interweb video I watched showed a silver screwdriver with a removable bit. I received a cheap, plastic T5 screwdriver. I'm disappointed. It's a premium wallet and it should come with the advertised premium accessory. When I contacted Ridge this was their response: "​Thank you for reaching out! We recently updated the torx driver to the style that came with your order. I will share your feedback with the appropriate team. Please let us know if you have any additional questions." It may be an 'update', but IMHO it's a downgrade.

How do you compare this to the PocketPro? Personally, at $69 the PocketPro seems pricey, so this one at $115 is ridiculous. The margin on these wallets must be YUGE.

It could possibly scratch if that’s what you we’re talking about. Anytime you have something rubbing up against a cards it could scratch. And it depends the grade of titanium. The higher grades tend to be soft and scratch easy.

Is it scratch resistant?! Does the color wear out?!

Def more scratch resistant than most of the other materials Ridge offers. But if you carry it with your keys in the same pocket, most likely you’ll scratch it. And no the color won’t wear off.

It will if you try hard enough. Meaning putting keys directly next to it in your pocket. But mine is relatively scratch free

I put 2 large ranger bands on it for storing cash brand is Scol found on Amazon. But trying to find a good wallet with this quality in America

Torn between this and the vext. The Ridge expands or shrinks depending on how many cards you have. It also has that badass belt/money clip. The vext allows you to scroll through cards and pay without having to take the entire card out. The vext also has the secret pouch, and I am a coin carrier.

The Ridge is an American company based in Los Angeles. But they outsource the production of their wallets to China. So yes technically they are made in China. But they’re an American company.

So if you don’t expose your cash, how do you pay...using cash? I’ve never understood that argument. Even if I have a bifold, I’m eventually pulling out cash. Solution. Don’t carry wads of cash with you. I carry a few emergency bills with me and pay for everything with my debit card.

But you don't mention like all other reviewers that you wallet looks nothing like what was advertised...just like all the rest of us.

@@ChrispyThings or Alloy… make it all CF slabs. I’m a fiend for CF, if CRK can make a CF Sebbie without an alloy liner underneath it, a wallet at this price range is a walk in the park.

Not worth 75 bucks though

It's far from the best, at least for me. After a few days, two screws fall out (lost forever), and after six months the band became too flimsy. There are many similar wallets on Amazon which are 10× cheaper and yet better quality.

they are great looking wallets but very overpriced. You can get these on Amazon now for less than 20 bucks. I have had another brands carbon fiber wallet for a full year now with no issues. cant even tell the difference from the Ridge.
