Oh it's completely believable. Kids think they're acting mature just because it's how they see adults act in real life and on TV, but they're really just acting like immature morons. It's not fun to think back on those moments and realize what a cringy little bastard you were, but you've gotta learn eventually.

I get the impression it was aimed at the American market - the (hilarious) Hostage Negotiation segment featured US police, police cars etc. Even the copper here at 3:13 is like an early 20th Century New York cop, or an American's mental image of a British bobby.
