The Richest Rookie And Best Player NOT In The HOF! Glenn Robinson Stunted Growth

Спорт

Glenn Robinson was a beast in high school and an even bigger star in college. Individually he has to have the best 2 year run of any college player ever! He was putting up video game numbers, leading to him winning the NCAA player of the year unanimously and becoming the #1 NBA draft pick over Hall of Famers Jason Kidd and Grant Hill. He had an amazing rookie season, where he looked better than Kidd and Hill in my opinion, but wasn't selected as the rookie of the year. This snub would become familiar to BIG DOG as he was one of the best wings in the league in his first 8 seasons but only made 2 all stars. He played just 11 seasons before retiring because of injury, where he's being snubbed again as we speak as a HOFer! Why isn't he being thought of in the same breath as guys like Tracy McGrady and Grant Hill as hall of fame inductee? Here's what I think. Stunted Growth Big Dog Glenn Rob!

The one time I met Ray Allen, he told me the greatest disapointment of his career was the 2001-02 Milwaukee Bucks. He said all Summer they let everyone tell them they got robbed in the Eastern Conference Finals and that they would make the Finals next year. He said they believed it, they just forgot they still had to put in the work. They let everyone just convince them of how good they were. They were so convinced that they no longer felt the urge to prove it. And suddenly, with no fire in the hearts of the team, they just completely fell apart and embarrassed themselves.

Well he finally got his shine his Junior year, because the previous two years it was all about the Fab Five, Webber in particular. After Webber turned pro in 1993, guys like Big Dog, Juwan Howard and Alan Henderson got to get exposure. Notice how Howard’s numbers went up drastically his last year at Michigan?? Because he was now the focal point inside after previously deferring to Webber.

Though he didn’t quite live up to his full potential, he averaged 20.7 ppg, 6.1 rpg and 2.7 apg. Those are career averages. That ain’t bad. Also got a ring with the Spurs in 05. I ain’t mad at him.

Big Dawg was a bucket!!!! Elite level scorer at all 3 levels..He should definitely get HOF consideration. Hoopers know, this walking bucket. Winning is probably what will keep him out. They were robbed in 01. I think they would've gave LAL a better run than Philly did..but factoring his college, HS, NBA career should give him more consideration. Another is more and more guys are getting in, so th voting is more spread out..as an example. Bosh I believe was up for this year. His should have been 1st ballot. But when you factor the historical guys KG, bean, Duncan etc..

I was a huge Big Dog fan in college. After watching him at Purdue it’s hard to imagine him never making an All-NBA team. He had turnover issues, was right hand heavy, and struggled playing a role if he wasn’t a main scorer on his team. It’s also harder to get better when your so advanced at a young age....

Fun Fact about Glenn Robinson: He's pretty much the reason why the rookie wage scale is a thing. Before it incoming players would hold out well into the regular season at times until they got the contract that they wanted from the team that drafted them. So during the collective bargaining negotiations back in 95 the league and the NBAPA agreed to implement the rookie wage scale because they got tired of youngsters coming in the league and getting bigger contracts than vets did at the time. Big Dawg was one of those holdouts which is which he got that huge contract and probably why he didn't get Rookie of The Year. The media that votes on the award probably held it against him. Definitely one of the most underrated players in league history and should definitely get some HOF love.

I think also the fact that he played for the bucks had something to do with it. If he averaged those same numbers while playing for the Knicks or shit even the Miami Heat at the time he would have more awards and more hype around his name, perhaps be in contention for a HOF nod. Due to the small market, lack of exposure and just overall borderline anonymity, only those who knew basketball knew Big Dog Glen Rob was a beast.i was privileged to watch the man put on shows against A.I led teams who was my fav player after MJ retired.

Glenn Robinson isn't in the HoF because he didn't do anything that makes him standout aside from his 2 collegiate seasons. He was "just a scorer" in the NBA, and even in that regard his numbers aren't exceptional. He wasn't viewed as a game changer, you honestly can't even say he did anything else at an above average level. So the guy that was "just a scorer" wasn't even considered elite at the best part of his game.

Definitely had a lot of respect for Glenn Robinson's game back in the day! I think one thing that was touched on might be kind of significant - I feel like there was a lot of negativity towards him after his rookie contract holdout, which likely played a factor in his Rookie of the Year snub.

He in my opinion is most definitely a HOFer . Ask any who played against him and they'll say he was a problem. Shouts to you JC you did it again main. THESE ARE THE 🏀BALLERS🏀 I TELL MY KIDS I COACH ABOUT❗
