Gonna say it - Jim's smiles, grins and winks totally make it. He looks like if suddenly your grandfather turned into Superman, and then winked that it was just a family secret.

His bizarre cadence and his drone chords are super uniquely his. Hes a master guitarist. He creates such a weird atmosphere. I learned so much about guitar from this guy. Make no mistake, this is high art and folk art together as 1.

This is a beautiful blend of the most violent genre's of music combined into a single, unique style. It's the child produced by a mixture of DNA from Johnny Cash, Johnny Rotten, Dick Dale, Motorhead, Metallica and Elvis.

Hello👋🏻 Randy Heath , greetings from Kelowna, British Columbia Canada 🇨🇦. It must be cool being a cousin of Jim’s. 😊 I would love to meet him in person someday in the future 👍🏻 What a cool , funny guy with a great sense of humour , absolutely one hell of a fabulous guitar player and songwriter as well. “The Devil’s Chasing Me” and “Big Red Rocket of Love” were the first songs of his that I ever heard. I’ve been listening to The Rev for about 25 years now and love all of his music a lot. I first heard him when I was laid up in the hospital for over 14 months and in a coma for the first 3 months of that after a crazy accident that damn near killed me. I had heard of the Rev but never actually heard his music yet at that time. I got to talking about music with one of the nurses who had a bunch of his music and brought them all in and borrowed it to me so I could hear him for the first time! I was hooked in an instant! 😮 so damn good I couldn’t even believe what I was hearing. 😊 I also really love Brian Setzer and the Stray Cats as well but i had been waiting for something a bit heavier and yet slightly different as I am mostly a Metalhead but I do love many different styles of music and have been playing guitar for 38 years myself. the Reverend Horton Heat was perfect to my ears and just like that ! I bought everything I could get my hands on immediately after hearing that! 😄 it was definitely a very difficult thing to get through recovering from that brutal accident but Jim and his music helped a lot to get me through all that as I always had something really cool to look forward to hearing everyday even when I couldn’t play the guitar myself due to the injuries at the time ( and wouldn’t be able to actually do it again myself for about 2 years after the accident ) there’s nobody like him, he’s very unique as a guitar player and singer as well. Jim is extremely entertaining in every sense of the word. I bet family get togethers are an absolute blast whenever they do happen 😄. All the best , say hi 👋🏻 to Jim and thank him for me for helping to get me through all that when you do see him ! His music really did help me out immensely 😊 and I still listen to him all the time. Best regards, Andy P.

I always enjoyed the rev's music. My friend's didn't. But when I saw a table add for the reverend Horton heat, in central perk, in an episode of friends. I didn't care what my friends thought, they were missing out!
Mr. Heath makes me miss Rock and roll .But his music makes me wanna get off my ass and play guitar,The best music aint for sale. But it never sold out neither !Poor kids are gonna grow up dull with the new music.
HEAL ME, REVEREND! AMEN!
The Heat is truly incredible seriously
I love RHH's transitions into songs. Victory Lap into The Smell of Gasoline is so perfect.
We love you
And there you have it....The Rev!!!

The Reverend Horton Heat is simply genius of psychobilly (freakout !) ! One of the best bands I've seen in the Nineties in Paris, France ! It was for the LP "Spend a Night in the Box" ! It was aweful ! Really craze ! Love'em, really love'em !

I’ve watched this set many times over &over & it never gets old. Great chemistry on this stage.
I'm finally old enough to appreciate his music(30). American heroes. I hope that some day. I could be as cool.
Loaded gun is such a wonderful and gritty tune. It is beautiful and sad and I love every single note of it.
I saw them live in the early 90s at the Sun Club in Tempe, AZ. Still just as good or better
Great rock'n'roll master! Twenty five years I've been loving RHE!
really subtle thing I notice here and caught when I saw them in concert - the rhythm section. Jimbo will do some snaps (i.e. letting the string hit the fretboard after plucking) and slaps (i.e. hitting the fretboard), then will switch to traditional non-slap playing while rim shots are taken. So you always (or often) have that famous slap sound, but it moves back and forth for a different texture. its the little things that make this band.
I heard this sound a while back did nit rember name of band song or sings nothing used Shazam alway looking for 4 months now I found these Katts and there tunes what a job it was now I can relax and listen I even listed to archives of previesrs PBS broadcast it was worth the hunt for these Katts .WOW FACTOR 100%...RocknRollFlat5
Such an inspiration. Everyone be like Jimi this Jimi that..Yes he's a guitar legend but Jim is quite the modern master.
130 outta 10 for the drummer at least 👏 similar obviously all round, fantastic stuff !!!!!!! one for future generations, dang salutes

🫡 I’m happy to hear that! 🤟🏻🎸playing the guitar is one of the greatest feelings ever and it’s still really fun for me everyday for a couple hours even after 38 years. I’ve been playing lots of Buckethead’s more mellow solo “ Pikes” material lately 😄( most of its all on KZread 👍🏻 NatterNet channel ) I love that guys playing as well, he is amazing and can play Anything imaginable! he’s absolutely incredible! ) I look forward to playing the guitar more than anything else in my life. I consider it the greatest thing I ever did for myself to learn playing guitar and it’s just for my own amusement. I’m still learning something new almost everyday and it will never stop but it’s as easy or hard as I feel like making it at any given moment. To me it’s the best hobby ever and it’s also great to get into a fun, interesting and different headspace than the daily grind. No matter what kind of music you like playing personally VS. what you just listen to as well , I find it really helps with relaxing ( even if what you play is intricate, heavy or isn’t very mellow or relaxing at all ! 😄) from this stressful world we live in nowdays. I absolutely love watching/ hearing Jim rip on a guitar, he’s so Awesome, such an amazing and unique guitarist and songwriter. The Rev’s music definitely has that thing that makes you think “ I really need to play a guitar right this instant , look at how much fun he’s having up there.” What a fantastic live show ! 😮 his playing makes me smile and I’m damn near speechless watching him go off. The guy plays like a Texas bluesman / country / metal / rock’n roll / rockabilly / lounge singer madman, it’s absolutely incredible to witness! 😄 ) , and it makes you feel like “I want to feel a bit of that crazy fun vibe in my life too“ effect on a person… Especially if you’re a guitarist of Any type of playing style🤣. Kinda like … Hmm maybe I can get that little part of it right away while i work on a few sections of it , will I ever get it all? Probably not … Jim is leagues ahead of my skill level, But if I can have some fun with it and even play a bit of it while I figure 🤔🎸 out some of the other parts that’s a win for me ! 😄 and I really do want to learn some of his songs /solos etc. just to get a bit of that rockabilly style mixed into my own playing. Why would anyone who plays 🤷♂️ Not want some of that in their bag of tricks? 😄 The Rev’s music in particular looks like a blast to play once you get even just some small parts of it nailed down. 👍🏻Welcome back to guitarland 🎸brother ! 😊 Hope it’s going well and even more that you’re having a lot of fun with it!

One of my few regrets in life regarding music: I saw them live at the House of Blues in Orlando ~15 years ago. I was standing in the very front row, and Jimbo gestured like he wanted to pull me up on stage with them during their last encore, but I had to leave because I was working super early the next day (like 5 AM) it was already about midnight (because they'll sometimes play until they're kicked out), and I had an hour drive home. Why oh why didn't I let him get me up there?!? Or at least give him a kiss on the cheek! I don't care that I was 22 and he was probably in his mid-to-late 40's; oh my God, that man has made me melt since the first time I saw him walk out on stage! I was an *IDIOT* for passing up that opportunity!!!!
