After seeing 'Year Of The Scab' I'm so happy the replacement guys got their rings after. They should've been honoured with SB rings back then to start with. They essentially helped the regulars get the spark they needed to march all the way to the Super Bowl that season. I believe they were the only 'replacement' team to go undefeated in the whole league for those 3 games. Honest guys, all they did was capitalize on an opportunity that very few get a chance at doing. Played hard, never quit & never wavered even when initially met with resentment by players & fans at the beginning. By the time the strike was over, fans in Washington actually were cheering for their replacement players. They really did play a big part in that Super Bowl championship season. :-)

The redskins played 7 of their 8 divisional games in 1982. The only one they didn’t play was vs the cowboys in Texas. All 4 other NFC East teams were decent to good in the early 80’s: cowboys were the projected nfc champs, the giants had a stellar 81, the eagles still had their core from their Super Bowl run in 1980 intact, and the cardinals were very pesky at that time. So what we didn’t get to play against the weak afc central?

Some of these players did go on playing other teams. Some of the players replaced other players on the Redskins team. I think Anthony Allen, Craig McEwen and Darrick Brilz were on the actual Super Bowl team. Darrick Brilz played until 1998 played 175 games, started 124. Richard Johnson WR had 70 catches for 1,091 yards and 8 TD's in 1989 for the Lions. Henry Waechter was on 1985 Bears team. Derrick Shepard (Sterling Shepard's father) played for a few different teams. Joe Caravello, Michael Mitchell played on other teams.

Now the fans need to strike cause of the price of everything is out of this world. these NFL players have to make 40 million to play a damn sport. Hell back in the old days the players played because they loved the game but now they play for money and nothing else. I'd rather watch replacement players play cause you know they love the game.

As a die hard Raider fan those Replacement Redskins deserved that ring. They lose those 3 games and the Redskins don't go to the Superbowl. Respect
