Steve got me in tears for reason being that I feel like he's talking to me

I'm 53 and this helped me a lot as I've been desperately wanting to settle after being widowed for 7 years.

Thank you for teaching me patience. I would've cut it off without understanding that perspective.

That's fine totally understood, just hope he has that same opinion towards being intimate with her without being committed. If that's what she wants and he's not ready to do so he shouldn't expect intimacy either.if he can't rush in to being committed he shouldn't rush to get in the sheets.

Everyone here who commented has a good point, she was excited when he asked her to marry him, I don't believe that they both actually sat down and talked about how long they should be engaged or about the monetary issues that comes along with some people who want a wedding they really can't afford. And is Steve said kids are possibly going to be involved and they cost a lot of money. I know her feelings are hurt, but if she keeps ignoring him and not trying to discuss how he feels and what he is thinking that she might lose the man of her dreams. He's looking at stability for them and their future family. Everything can't be rushed Thomas so hopefully she'll realize that Steve is getting her some good advice and give him a second chance. Steve hit the nail right on the head with this one. Women tend to forget that getting married is THEIR dream, not that of men. For men, we just want to find our dream girl and settle down once we have our life in order, which takes a lot of time. Most guys in their 20's are not ready for marriage if I'm being honest because a majority of men in their 20's are far from their peak. They're still in school advancing their education (and being broke while doing so), they're working up the career ladder, they're trying to save money during a time in economic history when the cost of living is extremely high etc. For any young woman reading this in a similar situation, remember, men and women live different realities. We are not the same. We have (mostly) different expectations that we have to meet as adults. When you're in a relationship, it is not all about what YOU want and what YOU dream of. Don't throw away good dudes just because you may have other options DM'ing you on social media because quantity doesn't equal quality.

I was w my sons dad for 24 years I made him a dad @ the age of 27 years old he said didn't want to be dad nor ready to be dad yes he was serious about his true feelings, Never showed love for his son while growing up never any family quality time never father son bonding. I can understand what he didnt want & was not ready, but showed his true colors not love for his son. Didn't appreciate us took us for granted WE left him, done!

He is still not ready to be married. He will string her along ,until she is tired of waiting. He looks about 19 and she is beginning to have weigh her down look. She doesn't want to wait too lon. When I said that he’s perfect for me, he said there’s a lot of good men in the world. I just don’t wanna give up on him, cause for me he’s a good man. But he doesn’t understand what I feel.

I was once in a relationship with a guy that said, if I proposed I know you'll say yes... I said what no... He was like why are we together. I said eventually that's the goal but I don't wanna be married now. We was both like 23 or 24. He never asked what I wanted or if I wanted to be married at that time I was just moving, marriage was not in the cards for me then. Our relationship went downhill after that. He got married to the next girl he got with 😂 and It took me many years after.

Men see the logic part of it cause if i can't afford things and a better life, i will put the feelings aside.... Women need to know this... This world has created a system where women only see how a man should afford them but there's a lot involved and if he aren't got it better, even you as a lady will disrespect him one day and nothing destroys a man than disrespect cause Respect is what all men hear as more valuable than "I love you" from a woman.

That's why I believe in counseling even before engagement. The engagement period is just a formality. I'm looking forward to the marriage, not the wedding. So when he proposes, he should be ready/willing to be a husband, making an informed decision. When I say yes to "will you marry me?", that means we can go to the church or courthouse tomorrow. I don't believe in extended engagement periods, so I'd prefer he not even propose until he is actually ready. I don't need him to be perfect before we get married, but I need a detailed timeline communicated to me so if I can get see if it's a plan I can get behind. That shows a sign of a good leader.

I get what Stev is saying. But at the same time females bodies change as they start aging. What Stev could’ve said is that she could recommend her to frozen her eggs. In case whenever they ready to be parents, she can unfreeze them and she can use it because when a female stars aging over 37 years old it can be risky, but at the same time he will have it together to provide for her the same way she will provide for him. In life can change any day rather it’s for the good or for the worst in general, nobody’s is not prepared for .I would suggest to them just go ahead and support each other and get married, but not rushing to have kids yet in their life .That would’ve been my advice .

this girl seems like she was hooked on the fairy tale fantasy of a wedding. not the 'real world' of it that Steve explained to her. to many couples rush into the wedding, the marriage is not the focus.
