An excellent presentation, Pastor Matt - thank you. A theologian, as well as a great scientist, Sir Isaac Newton also identified the papacy as the Antichrist. The Seventh-day Adventists also make very compelling arguments supporting this conclusion.

Actually its his opinion and he has no authority to teach biblically...you may as well argue the Church of England...Orthodox Church at Constatinople...aka new Rome...Moscow...or Washington DC...that definitely is a whore of a protestant calvinistic constitution that has allowed the butchery of over 60 million babies. Interesting how a "christian" nation cant even control its own elected officials. This man probably has 501 C3status.

I’m not of the reformed tradition, but I do believe the 2 Thess 2 man of lawlessness and what restrained him was revealed in Josephus’ book Wars of the Jews Book 2 chapter 17. If you don’t just read it in English but the Greek in which it was written, you will be shocked at the Greek name of the man Josephus called Menahem ben Judah and what he did after the rebellion occurred in Jerusalem which removed the Roman stronghold there. Those churches break the First and Second Commandments and have people worshipping dead Christians, statues, paintings, icons and even Mary. Having idols is a tacit denial of the Trinity even if you profess faith in the Triune God. Worship anything else and take God's name in vain.@@bigtobacco1098

It might set you mind at ease regarding the titles of the Pope to understand that the Prince of Apostles refers to Peter, not Christ (the Greek "apostle" means "person sent," where Christ is the one doing the sending); and that the Latin term "Pontiff" means the chief priest, or the head Bishop today. The Pope is in no way presuming to displace Christ, but rather to be the head shepherd of the Church, which is the bride of Christ. I wonder if coming to that understanding is part of the reason for the removal of that line from the Confession when it was adopted in America? Does the removal indicate that they recognize the incorrectness of the earlier statement? The only other logical reason would be an attempt to hide a belief that they intend to continue to hold, which I'm reluctant to conclude. Your comments on this would be welcome.

I doubt the Reformation will ever be extinguished. I am sure you won't readily succumb to ecumenism. And there are millions like you in that aspect.

I fell asleep watching this last night with my earphones in. I guess the constant mention of the word Antichrist caused me to have a nightmare. Hahaha I'll make sure I watch it earlier next time.

Thank you Matt. This was helpful to me in just learning the different views on this. I am a reformed baptist in my convictions and am an amillennial after going through a long process of seeking and seeing my former dispensational premillennialism come unraveled as I saw its inconsistencies exposed by light of scripture. The first thing I saw that really shook it was in John 6 Jesus says that He will raise His own at the last Day. This clashed so hard against premils view of a rapture separated by a thousand years from His return. When you read 1 Thes. 4 it's clear that this is one event. As well as 1 cor. 15. After that it's been a slow but very rewarding journey of following the bread crumbs. But there are still things like the topic of the antichrist or the date of Revelation and other things I still am undecided on but it is undeniable that the pope is an antichrist even if not the antichrist. 2 thes. Seems to speak of something yet to come. I've recently wondered if the great falling away and the unbinding of Satan after the thousand years are speaking of the same event. A pastor in my area (not my pastor) had an interesting view of the restrained being the last marter I believe he was viewing rev. 11 Anyway I'm rambling here. Thanks a bunch. God bless you brother. Wow, amilemialism is a belief we are n the kingdom now and we need to make the world perfect for Jesus to come back? In order to eliminate amilemialism is watch the evening news. That in itself shreds that belief completely and of course reading the Bible. I am not picking on you, I can’t understand anyone ever believing something so opposite of the Bible. I mean it’s not my opinion it is Christ’s and His Word. We can believe what we want but I would be a bad watchman and in danger if I didn’t admonish you to return to original scriptures. Peace.

@@JJames7 totally untrue the kingdom is a spiritual kingdom….. God is sovereign and we are incapable of changing the world in any way. Amillennialist’s believe that when Christ returns the judgement will happen immediately there is no universal conversion or renaissance of true biblical understanding. You are confusing premillennialism which teaches that there will be a universal revival prior to the return of Christ.

​@@davejohnsin3476 I agree we cannot change the world except to win souls, but Jesus told us that His Kingdom is a PHYSICAL and SPIRITUAL Kingdom. When He Returns it is a Literal 1,000 years. Amillenialism teaches that we are Kingdom now...all things completed...all things are spiritual and that is a basic description not comprehensive. The Bible teaches the opposite...there will be a Pre-Trib Rapture, there will be a 7 year Tribulation with a real Anti-Christ, and there will be a real 1,000 year millenienial reign of Christ. The problem is not that you don't understand, but that you interpret scripture exactly opposite of how scripture is interpreted. That is your hermeneutics. The ONLY correct method for interpreting scripture is that SCRIPTURE interprets SCRIPTURE. That is Bible 101. That has never changed. For example, if everything is spiritual like you said, then Jesus never came to Earth and never died for humanity...and only spiritual. There are hundreds of scriptures predicting Christ 1st Coming and 100% of those were literally fullfilled. If God is consistent in 1/2 of the Bible, then He is 100% consistent on everything in the future. If you misinterpret the future events that PHYSICALLY take place in the future, then there is no purpose to live a Godly life now. The Book of Revelation shows us that horrible times are coming now...and in the future. If nothing matters on this Earth and all is spiritual, then why did Jesus tell us to watch and pray for His Return? That is backwards thinking and violates all scripture. I wish you peace and that God would open all peoples eyes to God's interpretation. Then I would like to say that Amillenialism is a Gospel of No Hope...the World Economic Forum is planning evil for this world and they tell us that...that is the Beast System of the Anti-Christ...and that is a literal system that World Leaders, Congressmen, and CEO's want to bring to all of us to enslave us...Just like Daniel and Revelation told us exactly being built right now. Beware ESG scores that prevent buying and selling unless you are a good Communist. None of Daniel and Revelation are just spiritual but PHYSICAL. Good luck and God Bless.

Isn't it funny how you can have a 50 plus minute video...and that one simple verse you stated which would eliminate so many wrong ways of thinking is conveniently ommited...there are uncertainties when trying to understand certain things...but if people used the process of elimination method, it would narrow the possibilities considerably of what certain things mean

the vicor of christ has been sitting in a temple and ruling for 1400 yrs plus. he wants to bring all the religions together to form the one world religion.

That makes no sense to believe the temple is only figurative and not literal. What sacrifices will the antichrist stop within a believer? Paul spoke about us as individual temples in the spiritual sense. But there are no animal sacrifices being performed within any one of us. This temple will be literal and it will be in Jerusalem. Once you see the temple being built and sacrifices are being conducted, then you will know your theology is in error.

You can go back to Christ commissioning of the apostles and then the structure of Bishop, priest and Deacon that are in thr four gospels, book of Acts, 1st Timothy that deals with the qualifications for a Bishop that is linked back to the old testimate. And of course Hebrews and revelation. Woman how do u not know this? I see nothing in scripture that says, "ahh god called me thus ill go to seminary...start a 501c3 chruch foundation then a youtube channel and then preach." No u must be called and follow apstolic authority. Now u show the chapter and verse...and dont give me ur opinion....and define specifically what bible translation u use.

This was a formidable presentation, very well done. Ultimately I was dissppointed that you did not agree with the near unanimity of the Protestant Reformers and Puritans that the Papacy was *the* Antichrist. This can be *proved* from the Scriptures by a careful examination and comparison of five Chapters: Daniel 7 (little horn); 2 Thessalonians 2 (man of sin, son of perdition, that Wicked) and Revelation 13, 17 & 18 (beast of the sea, Mystery Babylon, harlot, whore). The Papacy was also the one who suffered a deadly wound, in 1798, but who recovered from it in 1929 when Mussolini returned the Vatican City to the Pope. Anyone who does not believe that the Pope is *the* Antichrist has been deceived by the artful work of 5 cunning Jesuits: Loyola, Ribera, Bellarmine, Alcazer and Lacunza, who between them have managed to persuade the majority of professing Christians today to believe the Antichrist is past (preterism) or future (futurism). This is sad. The Reformers were right; they knew the meaning of Daniel 7, 2 Thessalonians 2 and Revelation 13, 17 & 18.

John Wyclef was ultimately very upset that he was passed over for promotion in the church hierarchy. St. John Fisher (Arch Bishop of Canterbury) soundly defeated by scripture and history and logic JW, and more importantly scripture does not give any one individual the authority to translate the bible, JW's translation errors very well could have sent hundreds if not thousands to hell because of bad translation. If u dont think thats a big deal then just take the debate over the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist.

John Wycliff gave people the word of God in their language. The thing Rome sought to keep from the people and hide the way of salvation to them. You're right, that is a big deal! Praise God that i have assurance of salvation through Christ's perfect once for all sacrifice, his righteousness granted to me by faith. Praise God for people like him! :)

John W was a disgruntled priest who was full of pride. You must now grant the same equality to Joseph Smith and Charles T. Russell and non KJV bible translators as well. Besides historically...nobody used the Wyclef bible after a generation BECAUSE it was in complete...not proficiently translated and had grammatic issues...ur problem is with geneva calvinists and the Tudor Monarchs...and King James. Sorry Its thats pretty ironic considering ur non catholic american calvinist traditions go back to the core four heretics of: Luther, Calvin, Zwinglie, and Henry VIII...who all denied the body, blood, soul, and divinity of Jesus Christ...including achieved a satanic blow against the church wounding it to this day...dividing the body of Christ. Obama is the man of sin and is the 8th and of the 7, Daniel 11:21 and Revelation 17:11. Ronald Reagan was the 1st president to sign a proclamation 4921 saying that the noahide laws are the moral foundation of America's character, that the Noahide Laws are a moral code for all regardless of faith, and from that time all have signed these into law. If you count from Reagan to Trump then Trump is the 6th. Also Revelation 17:10 is meant to be known when it happens because it says "and one is" and that is present tense so that prophecy is to be known when the 6th leader is in power why else would Jesus give to John to use present tense in prophecy. The Holy Spirit said the one after Trump will be used by Obama to get back into power with flatteries and not being voted back into power. I do not know how this happens I am just saying what I got from the Holy Spirit. But there is one thing I seen recently. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announcing legislation that would create a commission to allow Congress to intervene under the amendment and remove the president from executive duties. She said this is not for Trump but for presidents after Trump that are mentally or physically impaired. With this they can move power from a president that is not able to perform there duties and move it to another that is not the VP. This came to me in the spirit from the Holy Spirit and I have had other things happen in my life that I know was from the Holy Spirit. This is not my opinion or from my understanding I did not consider Obama before this or have him in mind and when I had this come to me I didn't even want to share it at 1st because I know what people are like. But when you see danger you must say and this is a warning of what is coming soon. Believe or don't but at least remember because it is coming soon and when you see know time is very short and we all need Jesus and he is coming. The "virus" looks like it is the strong delusion in all the world and something like that cant happen unless the restrainer is taken away from holding the evil back. I am saying this now as a warning of what is coming not even so I am believed but so when it happens people will know that it is true and if they are not saved will turn to Jesus and to everyone else will warn others that we are at the door and look at Daniel 7:25 "And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time." The head that has a deadly wound is of the beast kingdom not the actual person. The 5th head that is Obama was and was in power as long as he should and should never be a head/leader/president again. it says "And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death" That doesn't say the head was wounded it is saying it was like it was wounded "as it were" That wound is the fact the head cant have power again but that 5th head that is Obama when he gets power back is the deadly wound being healed and he becomes the 8th and of the 7. Revelation 13:7 "And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations." Daniel 11:33-35 "And they that understand among the people shall instruct many: yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, many days. Now when they shall fall, they shall be holpen with a little help: but many shall cleave to them with flatteries. And some of them of understanding shall fall, to try them, and to purge, and to make them white, even to the time of the end: because it is yet for a time appointed.". The man of sin will have his time and he will overcome the believers and we that truly believe in Jesus are to be sheep to the slaughter and we need to no mater what happens stand for Jesus and not fall away. All heads accepted the Noahide laws from that small people that say they are the light of the world but reject Jesus with Reagan as the 1st making him the 1st head. 1st head Ronald Reagan, 2nd head George Bush, 3rd head Bill Clinton, 4th head George W. Bush, 5th head Barack Obama, 6th head Donald J. Trump, 7th head only in power a short time is Joseph R. Biden and the 8th head the last ever USA president is also the 5th head and of the 7 Barack Obama. This is what the Holy Spirit gave to me after what happened to my mum and dad in 2020. I said at the start of the 1st lockdown with words that where not my own they would not last the lockdown I have had things come out my mouth from no place then happen since I was a child and other things and after they passed on I humbled my self asked God what I did and the Holy Spirit that small still voice answered me and said what he did and I was in shock. What he said is not from me I didn't think any of this before hand I am not an American and I don't care about politics but this is what he gave me and is not an opinion or interpretation. Obama will use Biden to talk his way back into power with flatteries and Obama having two terms made that like a deadly wound to that position of power he should not be a head/leader of the USA beast again but will be and when he does that is the deadly wound healed and the fifth seal will be opened and the trumpets will sound soon after.

@@Supportingtruth8258 I had a narrow path experience when I was younger. I was walking home at night and looked up the road to my home and seen a gang of people. I seen in what I can only think was a vision that they where going to surround me and beat and kick me. So I looked and thought well there is the road on the left and right it would be longer but it is easier paths and I heard in my self a small still voice say if I did it would be worse for me and felt it would just be more pain but I could die if I did. So I said to my friend that was with me when we walk up this strait road to my home there people will surround me and said to him when they do he has to run to my home and tell my father. So we walked up and the surrounded me and my friend ran and they beat me and kicked me all over the pavement and into the middle of the road. But in the end my father came and the people ran off and he helped me back to my home. And I could not see at the time the prophetic meaning in all this. Going up the strait and narrow path if you stumble I will come and help you and not to turn to the left or right path because they are easier and will lead to death but I thank God for that day because it showed me he can use hard things for his good it changed me over time to seek him and I seen the message. So I thank God every day for his love and patience. After the lockdown in the UK stated I said an odd thing to my ex that my mum and dad would not last the lockdown. My mum and dad where okay and I was talking to my dad again I said an odd thing the last two times I talked to him that he had to turn the other cheek and forgive others before he "passes on" my dad said not to preach to him he would not listen and had bitterness for my ex partner. Then my mum got ill and went into hospital then when my mum was getting better he got ill and had to go into hospital. Then he died on the 10th of April then resurrection Sunday was on the 12th and then my mum died on the 14th all over Passover. I am still trying to deal with that with all the madness from the so called "virus". Point is I was saying thing from no place and this is not the 1st time it happened in my life. When I was 15 my dad told me to go to the shops so okay that should be okay I did that loads of times before the shop was right over the road to where we lived. This time I stopped and said to him out my mouth from no place if I go out I will be bottled. This went on a bit my dad didn't listen and I went out to the hop and coming back a group of guys got in front of me and one from behind me bottled me overt he head and I ran home. Now I have had times like that a couple of times just saying thing from no place and it happened. I had a dream once of a car crash where I lived as a child I seen a school and the shops next to it and flats. it disturbed me not like any dream I had and 3 days later a family member died in a car crash where I dreamed it happened. I am not saying any of this to puff my self up because I am not and it is hard talking about some of this but these thing I know was from the Holy Spirit not from me and turned me to Jesus and I just don't want people to be blind to what is coming. I was in a bad relationship my ex was paranoid would get physically and verbally violent if I seen any woman be it on TV or outside so I stopped watching TV haven't watched it since 2001 and I stopped even going out side because every time I did she would think I was looking at women it wasn't easy but I loved her and wanted to show her that well it didn't word it wasn't as bad but she still found excuses to get mad. So after about 13 years of this I couldn't take any more I was on my last strew and it says God will only give you what you can handle so I asked on my face in absolute faith for help. If I left my ex she would use my kids as weapons against me say I ran away and so on and I couldn't have my kids be used that way and knew the only thing that would set me free was if I found she was doing things behind my back so I asked God to set me free. Three days later my ex came up into the room and I said to her out of no place I know what you been doing on facebook. Now I don't know where that came from because I didn't have any idea at all but her face turned white and I was like what she did something. Then she said well you know now then we are over and she said that she was chatting another man up over facebook so I got what I prayed for a way out it wasn't nice and hard but I got free of a bad relationship and my kids where not used as weapons. When I eventually had a place to go and was going out I stopped and said to her from no place again she will never have another child. She is the type of woman that loves having babies and from that time on she has tried a lot but ever time she has miscarried. So this is just some of the thing but I will put the one that started to change me and turn me from the world and on the road to Jesus now. Coming to Jesus on my face after over 20 years of being in bondage to addiction just like with my ex coming to Jesus in belief like a child trusting a parent in humbleness, meekness and tears truly believing fully on Jesus and not my self asking to be free from the bondage of addiction and then having that addiction just lifted off me with no withdrawals nothing just gone wasn't my power not believing on my self or trying to do strange things to make my self give it up. All I had to do was truly believe and have faith like a child in a parent and it is hard to get to that point as an adult but if you can and let all go and truly believe and trust Jesus fully he can do anything.

Daniel 12 talks about Michael rising up. I've read those who say that he is the one who restrains. I think it's the best interpretation

Anti-Christ is a movement or ideology, not a person. Its best understood as "in the place of the Gospel" Regarding the "last hour" Paul talks about, and other epistles... there's good reason to think that these are not referring to the final future return of Christ, but rather the horrendous events of Rome obliterating Israel; God coming in judgment, not to end time. Most of the verses referring to the very immanent return of Christ make more sense in this context: the return of God in judgment (the primary way "day of the Lord" is used in scripture). As for the breath of Christ? Would that not properly refer to the Holy Spirit, who expresses God's word in the world?

2 Thessalonians 2 points to a definite Antichrist figure who is a man. D.A. Carson argues for a future Antichrist based on 1 John 2:18.

The Pope exalts himself above God. He claims to have the authority of God to forgive Sins. Pay the Cash to save loved ones from purgatory or they burn in hell for their sins ! This is not what Jesus is about ! He died for our sins and all those who believe in him shall be saved. No need for 30 silver coins that will take you to the potters ground! People believe they can buy God and salvation but that comes only through our beautiful lord and saviour king of kings Jesus Christ. Your very ignorant on Catholic and Church history...you are probably a John 6:66 christian. 1-3) All Christians subject themselves to one of four authority traditions under the Son of the Living God: Catholic/Eastern Orthodox, High Protestantism (Anglican/Lutheran, etc.,) American Christianity (Reformed, Non-Denominational, Evangelical), or their own private Opinion. Of all these "churches," only the Catholic Church has the spiritual and historical commission back to the Apostles and Jesus Christ. Private Opinion is condemned in 2nd Peter, and thus as an Athiest would say, you are a product of your religious environment. 2) The Bible and Infallible Judgement. It is a historical fact the official closed canon of Scripture came in the second half of the 4th Century (Councils of Hippo, Carthage, Rome.) If you grant Scripture is "the infallible" word of God, you must give the Church Bishops "infallible judgment" by the Holy Spirit that picked the specific books of the canon. You cannot have one without the other. If you reject the 73 book closed canon based upon the argument of Martin Luther, then you are rejecting a closed canon of nearly 1100 years. If you accept any non-Catholic translation such as the King James Version, you still must grand the men who compiled that translation infallible judgment, which directly refutes the Protestant Position. Secondly, what Bible translation do you use, and is it a good translation? An excellent argument for an English translation is the King James Version (but not 1611); however, the Douay Rheims is a better version translated over 41-42 years. Thus what version do you give authority to, and why, and do you grant "infallible" judgment to the translators. If you don't, then your translation is not safe. 3) The 60-second Position of the Church for Salvation is a confession of belief and baptism, then love the Lord Jesus and keep his commandments: (Acts 8: "Then Philip, opening his mouth, and beginning at this Scripture, preached unto him, Jesus. The Jews were baptizing by pouring and sprinkling long before Jesus was born and Jesus' baptism was an ordination, not a baptism for the remission of sins.

I believe the beast which was and is not, (the seventh kingdom) is Hitler's Nazi regime. So the beast which was and is not, is himself also an eight and is one of the seven, and goes to destruction. (Rev 17:11) Therefore in my opinion, I believe the eight kingdom will be the Antichrist's kingdom, which is of the seventh (Hitler's Nazi regime). Turn from sin and trust in Jesus Christ as he has revealed himself in the Bible for the forgiveness of sins and reconciliation with God. Your perspective is wrong and this will hurt your ego/pride. God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.
