For me , That's why i say the redeem team is the USA 's best basketball team ever. The actually had a gameplan on how to play to avoid the repeat of previous years as european teams had more cohesion and they faced maybe their best opponent to date because Spain 2007-2012 was a world class team man. Gasol, Calderon, Navarro, Marc Gasol, Serge Ibaka (a year later), Ricky Rubio, Rudy Fernandez. What a team!!!
Favorite part of the documentary was Kobe’s work ethic. The whole team goes out to the club and return back to the hotel. On their way back to their rooms, they see Kobe going to gym at 5AM! set the tone for the rest of the Olympics. RIP to the legend

Gotta give credit to D-Wade, though. I remember that game. Kobe and LeBron were in foul trouble during the first half, so Wade stepped up and carried the load. He kept them in it long enough for Kobe to finish the job in the 4th quarter.
Kobe was the best addition to that team. I watched the documentary on this team and I remember Coach K telling the story about Kobe approaching him in his office to request guarding their next opponent's best player. Lots of guys mostly focus on scoring, but he was willing to do whatever it took to win which included playing tough defense along with prolific scoring. That's true leadership and teamwork.

@AbsolutelyAndre "Everyone knew it," says one Team USA staffer. "They know when another player is being selfish. Players can police themselves, but in this instance, as LeBron was coming out of the game, he said to Mike, 'Yo, Coach, you'd better fix that motherf-----,' as he walks by. He was talking about Kobe." The Redeem Team was supposed to be all about accountability, and this was James holding Coach K and Bryant accountable. Krzyzewski told LeBron that he would talk to Kobe and asked that he trust him. The coaching staff met through the night. This time they talked only about how to handle Kobe. The next morning, before leaving Shanghai, Krzyzewski asked Bryant, a three-time NBA champion with the Lakers, for a private meeting. "Coach was nervous," says one of his staffers. "He knew he had to do it." Coach K pulled out a laptop and sat with Bryant in a room. He showed Kobe a few examples of questionable shots and pointed out his teammates standing around and watching him on some drives to the basket. Krzyzewski told Bryant to his face that these were "bulls--- shots." Coach K added: "There has to be more movement." And then he held his breath. According to a team source, Bryant looked at Krzyzewski and said, "I got it, Coach. I got it. Don't worry about it. Sorry about that."

skills? you mean talent because that's what USA had all along, they needed skills from kob and jason kidd to bring it home

They needed the mamba mentality, which they got and won.

@@avocaza1393 none of them ever had it tho, wade was a killer before and after the redeem team but some of them benefited from their time in the olympics

So essentially they did what they were supposed to do because they had the most talent lol.

Probably the 2008 men´s Olympic final between USA vs Spain is the best FIBA game of all time. Really impressive performance by both teams. Kobe won it at the end!!

He had horrible efficiency. D wade and LeBron had far better stats. Stop BSing.
Bron, Wade, Mello and Bosh. All players I wanted on my team from the 2003 Draft but I got Darko 😭😭😭

I’m a huge Kobe fan, but I think what really put them over the edge into getting gold was learning the international game and developing the chemistry to hang with teams that have played together for years. I don’t think any single player can overcome those obstacles.
My heart hurts. It will never be the same! RIP Mamba!
That final vs Spain is the best game of basketball ever
Dwyane WADE was the BEAST of this redeem team. 🔥🔥🔥
Me daba escalofríos y una emoción solo de ver a Kobe siendo el líder y poniendo el ejemplo a todas las demás super estrellas de la NBA
Netflix is on 🔥 with its content. I can’t wait to watch this 🏀❤️🔥!! I was always a fan of Kobe’s but I definitely gained so much more respect and admiration for his game watching him lead this team and pickup up opposing players for 94ft! RIP KOBE

you can thank the *executive producers* Lebron and Dwade ..
"From Film Makers Behind Last Dance" That right there sold me completely because I still re-watch TLD.
"There's two alpha in the team that doesn't care who the alpha is" Legendary
Wish Kobe was here to tell this story
When Wade at the end said "since I'm the best looking out the crew, they like my bodyguards " 😆 🤣 😂 Dead!!
Coach K “So we recruited Kobe” 🥺🥺🥺
Thank you KOBE! We love and miss you
When Kobe joined that team, he put the whole world on notice. It was like another coming of the savior. The USA had a huge sigh of relief and anxious to see the black mamba finally put the world in order and redeemed the Gold. Best Offense, Best Defense, best in the clutch, and Best in training..His competitive spirit extended throughout the world! Truly inspiring. Without Kobe, the US would have No Gold.

I love this team, grew up watching these legends. I really hope they properly show and talk about what a BEAST Wade was during this Olympic run. He was on another level and led the team.
This looks really good, can’t wait! Rip Kobe
We need 5 dedicated mins on Olympic Melo. He was different. Perfect stretch 4 that had his mid range game turn into efficient 3s because of the shorter line.
