It makes sense. Kenpachi Bankai is unlike any others his literally turns him into a literal demon which increases his physical strength to untold measures. On top of having a broken ability to cut through things that are even intangible

I wonder how literally we can interpret Yachiru's words after seeing him cut the "Galaxy Room" with just shikai? Is there truly NOTHING he can't cut? How about the world beneath his feet? The Sky? Time?! The Fourth Wall??? I want to see Nozarashi come through my TV screen!

@@megalictis9002 it’s a pretty broken ability when you think about since there isn’t a Bankai or ability out there that has a defense against it. I almost think about it like asta form black clover having a anti magic sword but kenpachis is like on a god level

The districts of the Rukon are arranged eighty deep in all four directions getting progressively worse as the numbers get higher. I bet if you asked anyone in Soul Society from any district where hell is located and they all point North. Unless they're already in North District 80, Zaraki. People don't go to Zaraki; they try to escape Zaraki. Most don't make it. My head-canon is that nothing edible grows in Zakaki. No plants means no animals. That's not a problem for those with low reiatsu because they don't get hungry. The problem for them is those with high reiatsu do get hungry. They eat or starve, and there's only one source of nutrition, and a young monster stockpiling "food."

Most bankais control elements, or summon things, mess with senses etc. Kenpachi turning into a demon is almost akin to being hollowfied his Bankai isn’t normal

"Most bankais control elements, summon things, mess with the senses" That's not entirely accurate. Ikaku and soi fons or even ichigos Bankai don't do any of those things. It's not a hard rule in bleach. I mean even rukias doesn't do any of that as her power is not related to ice but rather allows her to drop her temperature. So I dont believe that this can be used as some sort of evidence for the theory that zaraki was born in hell.

@@pnumekin3642 they don't summon anything lol. The swords transform into another weapon. Its not at all the same thing. Kamamura summons something. Tousen sommons something. Even then it doesnt explain rukias bankai or gins for example. So my statement still stands. And if kenpachi were anything other then a shinigami he would have displayed powers of that nature. And I don't mean level of power I mean absolutely different powers. Like how ichigo displays the hollow mask or blut vein. Kenpachi and ichigo are not the same. Kenpachi is just a freak of nature like aizen was. That's all.

​@@prsuave420ikkakus bankai summons a weapon, renjis bankai sheaths himself in the bankai (the zanpakuto becomes the blade and the shinigami is a part of it.) Senkei senbonsakura kageyoshi envelops the user and opponent into an area like a sheath.. ichigos bankai envelops him, shielding him entirely.. and unshielding him releases the True monsterous power of white.. You could think of it like this.. shikai externalizes the inner being into the blade.. bankai envelops it onto the wielder/outer world. Zarakis is not normal in the sense that he loses his faculties and becomes a blood crazed, violent monster.. driven purely by instinct.. much like white is when he controls ichigo.. kenpachi having such a high spiritual pressure before even gaining a zanpakuto is not normal as the purpose of the zanpakuto is to harmonize the spirit and bring out their inner self and grow as a result.. in the same way, the nature of a hollow before they were hollowfied dictates certain aspects of their appearance, in the same way the nature of their bankai is determined by the soul reapers nature.

@159tony I understand the first parts. Except summoning. The blade transforms. The soul materializes. Not summons. Regardless it has nothing to do with kenpachi being a freak nature. Zanpakto are essentially the materialization of the welders power and soul. His bankai fits his theme. Battle crazed and raw power. Not of it implies anything related to him.being born in hell just because he is unique. All zanpakto are unique. I mean look at ichibe. Everything related to his birth is literal head cannon until we find out otherwise.

I think it makes a lot of sense!! The unbalance in the realms would have brought him there and now the balance is off again due to the thousand year war. I can’t wait to see what comes next!

Yes! I have believed this for years, long before the bankai reveal. Back when he fought Tosen, and Tosen "saw" the truth about him began to think maybe Kubo was being literal when he described Kenpachi with the phrase: "Consume everything, Demon of the Blood-thirsty Blade!" After the fourth movie showed us Hell based on Kubo's artwork (I later learned they ignored his input as to the nature of Hell to the point he asked to be taken out of the credits, so we can't trusty much else from the movie) I realized something: Hell contains more than the damned! The demons who torment sinners are not themselves eternally damned, but they can only live in Hell. Basically, like those people born in Soul Society who had no prior existence, Demons are Hell's "pure souls." So what happens if a Demon dies in Hell? Like souls who are born and die in the Living World (who haven't sinned in the living world) they could either be reborn in Hueco Mundo (Ulquiorra and his clan) or Soul Society (so far only Kenpachi Zaraki).

There are some souls that are born in the soul society like Aizen so I think Kenny could be a soul born in hell

Considering this, it would explain to me Kusajishi Yachiru's strange case of Shikai as well. Simply put: Those two creatures summoned from her "Shikai release" are Hell Beasts.

its a really good theory seeing as no one else has been shown to turn into anything when they uses bankai its always like a buff to their shikai in some way, but Zaraki just turns into a red oni and oni's are known as demon's which are known for living in hell and like you said with the Zaraki being known for having a skull thing going on.

it would make sense and timeline wise as well. Think after the Quincy the first time. a mass amount of souls were killed both Reapers and Quincies....so ejecting Zaraki would make a lot of sense and Unohanan still being Captain...but i am unsure if she has the scar during the 1st invasion years ago

Also we can say that shunsui zanpantou might be from hell or it uses hellish powers considering how unique it is, plus some of his games are for demons, we really need to see new content from hell arc

My personal theory is that Zaraki is from the 5th unnamed royal family. He must have escaped or left as a young child. Given that his strength and reiatsu is just unnatural for someone outside the seretei. It imagine when he finds out his real royal noble name he will reject it and continue to go by kenpachi zaraki but still cool to think about.

I think it’s stated that the strongest souls from soul society end up in hell. Ukitake was known for his high level reiatsu so it makes sense that he ended up in hell

No, if you read correctly this one shot it explains that probably all Captains who dies they go to hell to keep the balance.

Would make a lot of sense & I like this theory, I see him as the equivalent of what Akira was in devil man crybaby - the ‘lord of demons’ type vibe, second only to the warden of hell in power, but he was defeated after facing him head on & instead of completely dying his spiritual pressure found its way to the soul society reincarnating as a little boy

In the novel "we do knots" one of the young twin Werewolfs sniffed Rukia. Rukia's Bankai is a Demon of Japanese folklore. Does that mean Animal Realm Shihone's, Werewolf and Demons.

this theory would also explain how zaraki was the ONLY documented shinigami that split his existence into anther being who was strong enough to become a lieutenant. and also how yachiru is the only shinigami with hollow-like avatars for a shikai. his entire existence literally goes against the rules of soul society

If he was from hell his Bankai would have that circle thing behind him like Syazel, I don't think it has to be something related to Hell because he is just pure strength and the Bankai affects his body, Lille Barro true form is a exemple that Bleach doesn't have heaven with angels just because he has a angelic form.

What if the war between the quincy and soul reapers in the past was because they were throwing off the balance and that disruption was the catalyst that allowed kenpachi through from hell?

Zaraki was also born nameless before he adopted the name Kenpachi Zaraki, if that means anything.

Zaraki was born with oken from his father, Tenjiro and his mother unohana. It's why he survived her bankai and his bankai absorbed part of unohana when he was a child that became Yachiru. Note who Yachiru was helping after Unihanas Death. We still don't know what happens when one is killed by a Zanpakuto

To add to the theory, Zaraki was probably a full adult before he left hell and was reborn a child into SS without any past memories.

I personally cant get behind this theory. I know that his bankai makes him look like an oni but that doesnt necessarily have the same implications in the bleach verse that it would in our real verse. For us oni = demon and demons come from hell. In bleach as far as we have seen there are no beings that look like oni's. Both in the hell arc one shot and the hell verse movie. I also dont understand why people have a hard time beliving a being with such high levels of power could be in soul society when there are beings like yamamoto and aizen running around. Also kenpachi doesnt have to be birthed in hell and then transferred in order to stabalize the balance. He could have just been born in rikongai naturally as a way to restore balance.

I don't buy it because there are souls that existed with monstrous reiastu that goes unexplained. Aizen for one had a big pool and it was never explained why he was so powerful and gifted. No noble family bloodline or related to some deity just op. Zaraki may just be another case as well.

It's a sound theory especially since his past is nonexistent other than him going around the Rukon butchering people. And given the revelations of the hell chapter alongside Soul Society's seeming ties with hell and yes it seems likely. It's not so much that he'll end up in hell when he eventually dies but more likely he is from there.
