Really great to know that you only take what you need, and that the fish are returned straight away without causing them too much stress. Stay safe and tight lines. Mike.

Thanks Mike, I do think that respect for the fish is essential, whether it is to be released or kept for the pot. Tight lines 🎣🎣

Another nice video mate. Looks a lovely mooring you have and far easier for quick trips than launching

Thanks mate. The mooring is tidal but definitely easier than trailer launching! Tight lines 🎣🎣

Probably someone did mention it already on your channel but please, safety first! I always wear my life jacket on my boat even if am not on my own and to be honest I feel strange if I not wearing it! I believe you did powerboat course so they definitely mentioned about it 100 times during the course. Tight lines 👍 ps. never use BBC weather before you gobout haha! There is plenty amazing apps such as XC Weather and similar...

Thanks bud, I like to blame the BBC but I do use a range of forecasts and in a previous career, I also used to teach meteorology so I should know better🤣 Tight lines 🎣🎣

All the way to the Skerries for plaice? I have fished the Salcombe Estuary both from boat and shore and had many a good plaice. Biggest just under 5IB in front of the town and 2.5IB off the beach at East Portlemouth. Explore the Estuary there are some big plaice in there.

Another good video always nice to see fish going back 👍 also what is the multiplier reel your using?
@fishingsalcombe
Жыл бұрын
Thanks mate! The multiplier is Penn Fathom 15 2-speed lever drag loaded with 30lb spider wire braid. It’s a cracking reel and works well for my area on a 12-20lb class rod 🎣🎣

Hi, great video, glad to have found your channel. I'd like to ask a question about the start of your video when you turned back into a sheltered bay and not followed the birds. Why did you make the decision to turn back? Was it due to the size of the waves or wind or because you needed to anchor up for plaice? The waves didn't look so bad to me from the video. Do warrior boats not handle waves so well? Looking to buy my first boat soon 🙂

They say the camera never lies but it does make a good job of making a rough look calmer than it is! For their size, Warriors are very good at handling the sea but there were two issues on that day that made me turn around. The first was that I wanted to plaice fish and that needs relatively calm weather to detect the bites. There was a metre of breaking waves so fishing would have been impossible and definitely not fun. The second reason was to get there I had to cross the tide race which had waves from all directions up to a metre and a half which the boat would handle if you had to cross it but as it was unfishable at the other side it wasn’t worth going through it. Thanks for watching ! 🎣🎣🎣
