I was 12yrs when it first came out. Living in Brixton all the kids in my area would all sing together until the sun was down in the summer. Unforgettable childhood memories that will never die!

So many great songs in the 70s and this is one of the best of them.

This phenomenonal song takes me back to a place and time in my life that is still strong in my mind and heart. Picture this, I am 18 yrs old and remember dancing alone on the dance floor at a nightclub in Cairns FNQ Australia many moons ago with family and friends. Under the crystal ball in a world of my own a bit tipsy and the world outside didn't matter. Everyone was dancing, young and carefree. The lighting show setting the scene and and just lost in the music. How I loved and long for those times again. I am an old man now, but still can get it on down with the best of them. Hey if your can dance like no one's watching

When my grandma was on the edge of dying to cancer, she told me to think of her everytime i heard this song, the evening she died my whole family got together to have dinner and to catch up about her good past, my grandpa turned on the radio and this was the first thing that came out of the speakers. I miss her and how happy she was, she was a great grandma, sadly i didn't get to see her that often..

My wife and me danced to this song many times back in the 70s and i can't get by without you by the real thing, then I asked her to marry me and in October 1976 we were married, and today I still sing that song to her, brings back many great memories of the 70s for us both. Lol

Wicked band been representing the UK for decades as one of the original soul bands to come out of the UK along with A.W.B these too bands showed the world the uk had flavour then a few years later we had one of my all time favourite bands loose ends and many others totally smashing it worldwide but the real thing and awb paved the way...big respect too both as they started me on my journey into soul music...wicked timeless music it runs through my veins..
