The Real Story of the Mass Transit Incident - Wrestling True Crime

Become a pro wrestler! Check out the D-Von Dudley Academy in Winter Park, FL dvonacademy.com/
The Mass Transit Incident is one of wrestling's darkest stories. In 1996, a 17-year-old aspiring pro wrestler got put in a tag team match against The Gangstas, New Jack, and Mustafa. New Jack would go off-script and hurt Mass Transit for real. In this video, we sit down with Mass Transit's tag team partner, D-Von Dudley, and give insider information about what happened before, during, and after the match known as The Mass Transit Incident.

Maven what's up? What happened to those early style videos? Those are way more entertaining than the story telling videos. I like when you do things like answer Google search questions, or teach us how you bladed without being seen ya know things like that. These videos aren't bad don't get me wrong but I love the other style of videos much more

That fact alone was probably what got New Jack acquitted. There is a level of negligence on the fathers part for allowing his son to wrestle in the first place. But at the same time this was 1996 and most people knew wrestling was "fake" (scripted) but how real the work is was not well known, it was a common assumption that wrestling was completely safe and wrestlers never got hurt in the ring and its not like you could just google it and find out online super easily like you can today, the internet was in its infancy and the business was still being protected. Though I don't know if he was aware his son had to lie about his age and credentials to get in the ring, if he did then there was really no excuse at all and he would be at the very least equally to blame.

One of the things that bothers me most about New Jack is that people always seem to say things like, "Oh, that's just New Jack," or "the kid's not in Kansas anymore." New Jack was a piece of shit that proved it right here. I realize he's a "brother" to a lot of workers that know him, but that's B.S.

This was a brilliant idea, Maven. Please do more, I genuinely believe you have a hell of a payday waiting if you can get more wrestlers who had close encounters with deep-cut shoots gone wrong over the years. Or even close encounters with wrestling's greatest moments to sit down and go over the show shot for shot. The indies could always use the highlights, too. May the clout gods continue to bless you.

Great video Maven! Your channel continues to bring an interesting viewpoint as the whole podcast/YT wrestling sphere has gotten absolutely overcrowded. New Jack was legit insane, but his interviews with Kayfabe Commentary are some of the most hilarious things I’ve ever seen. Not sticking up for his over the top violence and it’s frequency , but he is one of the first people that come to my mind when I think of ECW and death matches. His character work was always great.
