The initial design of timewalk was a red card that lets your opponent skip a turn

not so much switched, but the colors weren't quite as tightly defined in the earlier years either. Discarding and taking a damage as an alternate cost definitely fits in red. Blue definitely still had the majority of counters, but Red did have some Blue specific hate cards like Red Elemental Blast.

it feels like it could have been a white counterspell to me because its at its best when it stops a combo win and its more costly than a regular counterspell in some way, but still really good

It's always interesting when the color of a magic card switches after the art has already been made

All magic artwork was awful before Urza block imo. I hear people who have been playing as long as I have say the artwork was much better back then and I just have to roll my eyes. And no universe does it even hold a candle to the artwork we have today

Anyone who has an issue with stuff or people being problematic probably shouldn’t even be playing Magic, because the whole game is problematic. If you buy a booster pack there’s no guarantee that you’ll get your money’s worth, and if you draft there’s no guarantee that you’ll even get to keep the cards you paid for. Also, playing for ante was part of the game from the outset.

Sucks that she's an awful person, but otherwise it's an interesting story

You'll want to avoid the double masters alternate printing then too, because it is also her posing for the art. Painted by her close friend that is still on a a magic artist. And the flavor text on that printing is *chefs kiss* a beautiful protest in silence.
