The Real Reason You Don't Hear From Antonio Banderas Anymore
Ойын-сауық
Antonio Banderas became a household name in the '90s when he appeared in films like Philadelphia alongside Tom Hanks, Interview with the Vampire, and Desperado.
But before he became a handsome fixture in Hollywood, Banderas rose to prominence in Spain under the guidance of legendary Spanish director Pedro Almodovar. He acted in many of his movies during the '80s before coming to Tinseltown.
So, why is Banderas' star status being called into question these days? Is he due for a career resurgence or have we seen the last of his immense talent?

Well, here in Spain we hear about Antonio all the time.
He is super famous in Europe as Latin America, he doesn't need the USA

He is in the USA too, this is a "bait for reactions" bottom feeding media commentary.
He's doing his own thing. I dig it.
still one of the best actors of the 90's how many can really say that
Banderas is a legend simple
He was great with Stallone in Assassins. I don't even need to say much on Desperado and etc. Best action.
can we all just acknowledge how he is a great example of someone who follows their passion till the end?.
The real reason is because Looper fucking killed him so that they could make a 'The Real Reason' video

To be fair, that Expendables movie did suck mightily; but, the only really good part about it was Antonio Banderas. I haven't seen Automata or whatever it's called, but, my sister did and she loved it - because of Antonio Banderas' acting. His acting was the only reason she rented it or stayed watching it.
He sounds like an awesome guy. I'm glad he left Hollywood.

He went there because Hollywood is the place to obtain fame and success, but now, he don’t need it to be submitted to that, according to what people says about what is take it to continue to be successful there. Good for him, he deserves recognition and now he can do whatever he wants.
I have and use his fragrances and other attire. Its all actually quite nice. He may give some outstanding performances on film, but he's pretty down to earth and subtle. It reflects in his multiple endeavors. And hey I am willing to try and help bring capes back as a fashion statement. Between 2015 and 2018 he has amounted total of 15 film projects. I say that is pretty good for a soon to be 57 year old. So I don't really know how anyone can say he has not been heard from. Also, I actually really enjoyed Automata.
Such a great actor!!!!!!
The talk show guy says to Antonio in the middle of this video... "You can make anything sound sexy!" and he says, "really?" and even THAT ONE WORD was sexy! ha! ha! ha!
The REAL reason you dont hear about him, is simply because you dont watch his movies anymore. He was in 18 movies from 2010 to 2017.
I like Antonio I think He's a great Guy.

I was an Extra in the 13th Warrior.Met Antonio very briefly. Was around him a lot though.I did have a nice conversation with Omar Sharif .Very nice man.Melanie Griffith showed up on set as well their new baby,at the time. She was Gorgeous . Film & Photos don't do her justice. She absolutely blew me away with her,Radiant Beauty!!My parts are in the intro,up to where the 13 are chosen & leave.I'm wearing a Red Fox Pelt over my shoulder,so fairly easy to see.Was fun being in the movie, but life was extraordinarily dull after they packed up & left.

Dude! You should see what made the Cutting Room Floor!Mctiernan wanted a "Braveheart".We filmed for 14 Days & only 7 minutes of actual Film Time made the Movie.Unfortunately, the Movie would have been too long to keep everything they wanted.Would have made a Great Trilogy though!!
He is an old dude now, of course he slowed down a little, I am sure that he is wealthy enough to never work again. Jeesh.
I actually really liked the 13th Warrior. Fun action flick
What's the real reason I don't hear from my parents anymore? When are ya gonna upload that one huh!

I think Antonio is just amazing in "The Skin I Live in" . Great director Pedro Almodovar created a Kubrickian looking film. You should all see it!
The fact that you in the US don't hear about him doesn't mean he's not been working.
I love Banderas no matter what he's in. I've never seen him in anything that wasn't entertaining and enjoyable. Thank you Antonio for all you've given us and if YOU wish to, I hope you're in many more.
I love him so much. He is a really amazing guy.
I actually liked him in the 13th Warrior, that was an awesome and very under rated and under appreciated movie.
The Skin I Live In (2011) is a grandiose masterpiece, well known all around the world (apart from the US, where people watch only Hollywood movies and basically ignore or dismiss whatever is going on in the rest of the world). Then, Banderas is currently working as an actor on three different movies, which are either being filmed or already in post-production and set to be distributed either at the end of 2017 or in 2018. Lest forget that he has also directed two movies, of which one (Summer Rain - 2006) is very good (it was awarded at the Berlin Film Festival). He is also working on his third movie as a director. He also worked in theatre and he is currently writing and also studying fashion design at the famous Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Designs in London. I think he is an interesting and eclectic person who is following his passions. Much better than all those other ageing Hollywood stars who keeps on playing the parts of the eternal young adventurers, or who accept any single part, even the shittiest ones, just to keep on staying on the red carpet.
He’s my favorite actor. Love him
He is acting in movies in Spain and other countries. He's very versatile,so he doesn't depend on Hollywood exclusively.
in 2017 he had 6 movies
If he were to bring back capes as a fashion accessory and the price was right, I would buy one.
As a fan I would like to see him showing up in the MCU or maybe as a Pirates of the Caribbean villan

Viva Malaga y viva Antonio Banderas!!
Honestly it's good to know that he's still going around doing things. I do miss seeing him in films, but as long as he's taking care of himself and doing something he enjoys, it's just as good.

Just watched 2 new movies, Security and Black butterfly , and you didn't even mention them !!! LOL what kind of research do you do? Security was action and black butter fly was very very good, the best acting iv'e seen Antonio do in a while, and i like his acting in all movies so that says a lot! Don't hear from anymore is a stupid title for you to use when you are not up to date mate!!!

Puss In Boots hasn't yet reached the end - the fifth season just came out on Netflix and I still enjoy it. They couldn't have found a better voice for the character and I, for one, hope there is a lot more Puss in Boots to come.

Still my man crush! Such a charasmatic actor, his performance in Skin I Live In was awesome.
Uh...Antonio Just released a new action movie called Security. It's on Netflix.
He should be the next 007
I stopped seeing him after the Spongebob Movie thats a long time
He was pretty good in "Genius: Picasso".
I will always love him as Tom Hanks' boyfriend in Philadelphia.
you guys should investigate a bit for your videos, banderas acted in 6 movies last year, has one this year, tomorrow airs the eight episode of the second season of Picasso, and has 8 upcoming movies, I think you hear a lot about him, if you actually are interested.
Good for him. Can't wait until one of my projects launches me into the easy life where I can work on whatever I want. EDIT: Hadn't watched the full video yet... dang he had a heart attack this year, rough.
I'm going to disagree on Automata. Loved it.
Always thought he'd be good for John Robinson of Lost In Space, or even Barnabas Collins for Dark Shadows.
'No Capes' - Edna Mode
well we may not see him anymore but i hear him in those nasonex commercials still
I wish Antonio Banderas well in whatever he does in life.
Yes, bring the cape back. They didn't go out of fashion that long ago, well not as long as might be thought anyway, around the late 1940's. You're probably thinking about batman and Darth Vader but Banderas is probably talking about the kind Franklin Roosevelt and Winston Churchill wore.
Funny, I recently have been wondering what had become of Antonio Banderas. Lol
He’s simply best ❤
Oh man! He was my dream hunk in my teenage years ^_^
He's a good actor glad he's able to relax and do other things he enjoys.
13th worrier was his best
The real reason is he is old. Can't be in movies for freakin ever... some get smart and end up being producers / directors.

one of my favorite actors just behind Mel Gibson imo honestly we missed out thinking about that, just imagine those two at the top of their prime (like 20 years ago) making a movie together. wouldve been amazing anything from a midevil scenario, fantasy (not the gay kind >xxx) or even sci-fi. thinking about that there's still time to throw them into game of thrones together bendarez could be new king of dorn and Mel could be the king of the North, targaryan (the one who lost the family sword) or something along those lines.
@barbaravick5634
6 жыл бұрын
will riseabove I agree. Mell is probably my favorite too even ahead of Banderas. I'm so pissed that he literally had his brilliant career destroyed because he was an undiagnosed bi-polar who had also become an alcoholic (as many do, trying to self medicate.). Yes, he said some very inappropriate things, and it would have been a big so what had it not been against the powers that be in Hollywood. And the rant against his former wife, the Russian whore who trapped and fucked him over? Those tapes were proven with forensic testing to be fake. Anyway that bad parts were, the normal pissed off cussing she so richly deserved, was him, the death threats and shit were not. They hired a dude that does Mel's voice and cut it into the other tapes. Did anyone hear about that on the news? Hell no. it doesn't fit the scenario built against him.

They worked together in Machete Kills
He did Picaso last year, and a few other movies. He still has some time to do movies. .The critics suck.
Before watching this I'm going to make a wild guess for the reason why Banderas isn't on-screen in big films as much as he used to be:His films started to make less money.
Still a great actor ✌😎👍
He is just getting OLD... like many other famous in the past actors. This is normal.
IMDB shows him with 8 upcoming movie roles and 1 TV role. Nice.
Antonio Banderas is brilliant and his collaboration with Pedro Almodóvar is wonderful: Matador and Women on the verge of a nervous breakdown and are my personal favorites.
What the? i've just watch a 2017 antonio Banderas film the "Black Butterfly and he has an upcoming flick "The Security" this is outdated source

Antonio Bandera is awesome, he works on what he wants. chill
Why we don't hear from Martin Lawrence.
He was perfection in 'Haywire' and 'The Philadelphia Story'.
What about him being in Italian cooky commercials
He out sang Madonna in Avita.
