I've received many comments over the past year from people that believe this is a crazy theory, but HBO cast both Mother and Father in House of the Dragon... so I stand by my statements. David Zaslav hates Sir Ridley Scott. Plain and simple.

It was pretty good, but you gotta admit the story makes absolutely no sense in the slightest. Atheists and a religious group go to war, why I have no idea when both sides have extremely advanced technology and could just leave earth. They destroy the planet anyway and both decide to colonize the same planet over 600 light years away? Not only that but the planet they land on happens to have had humans exist 1 million years prior who spoke the original language of the religious people? There are over 207 thousand stars within that area! The odds of landing on a planet like that are essentially zilch unless it was in the religious texts but then why did the atheist go there? Also, it is stated that mother and father traveled via ftl and that humans could not, so that means the arks traveled sub-light and mothers and fathers ship traveled just a little faster that light. Meaning it took 600+ years for everyone to get there. Why not just do a u-turn, go back to earth and recolonize it as 1200+ years would have passed and it’s probably not a disaster anymore.

I disagree with the "far more... *any* other show", because Fargo season 1 was excellent, Stranger Things season 1 was outstanding, & Game Of Thrones was good enough because of the Arie/Hound plot line. But I do agree that damn near EVERY show I've ever seen since the day I was born has been utterly disappointing in too many ways to even make sense of it, like ... WHO'S writing this SH*T??? Anyway, I *do* agree that RBW is unbelievably awesome & strange, & while the very first scene led me to believe it was gonna be ANOTHER woke propaganda bs pos, I was pleasantly surprised to learn that Father wasn't just a diversity hire, but actually an amazing character & it makes sense that he was just the first droid the creator could get his hands on, etc. Anyway, I love it, I pray they bring it back, it doesn't make sense, nothing quality ever gets enough attention because average people just....don't get it I guess...?

Still hoping the writer releases the whole story in books or even graphic novel form. We need this story! 🎯

Yeah, I literally just found out about it from doing a Travis Fimmel search after watching The Vikings. Only good thing about finding out about it so late is that I have less of a wait if a season 3 does come out 😢

This was my favorite show 🥲 I love sci-fi movies and I would tell everyone about how weird and unique this show was. Every episode had me mindfucked. I’m still in disbelief it’s cancelled. I cancelled my HBO because of this. I will get HBO for a month to binge watch Westworld and HoD then cancel again.

I cancelled HBO/HBO Max and don't give too sh*ts about watching House of the Dragon or Westworld anymore. Haven't seen either and I'm not going to start either, as much as I love Game of Thrones (well, the first half of the series). I'd rather just re-watch Raised by Wolves.

When I started watching RBW it totally blew my mind. The idea of it was beyond my grasp, and I'm a big sci-fi junkie. It was something different, not like all the other shows which are basically the same. To heartbroken to think straight, and my mind and my thoughts are on the precipice of a dark abyss not knowing what was going to happen. HBO max just fucked up with this cancelation.

Raised by Wolves should really finish their story in S3, those S2 ending cliffhangers are tormenting me

So sad this was cancelled. My fiance and I's favorite game was trying to predict what would happen in the next episode by just throwing out the most insane places we could imagine the plot going. And the show would ALWAYS just surprise us and do something totally different.

Raised By Wolves was the best show ever, there was nothing like it on television before, it was unique and interesting and I am so disappointed that they canceled it :(

Maybe it was a silly decision and they just didn't get what they had in hand with Raised By Wolves. Cancel this show for House of Dragon, I mean... I've seen few episodes and yes, blablabla, always the same, but with dragons, youhou. Raised By Wolves is at another level, by far... some moments actually gave me emotions I couldn't name.

Thanks so much for making this. I really miss Raised by Wolves. I've always loved Sci Fi, and Raised by Wolves was a breath of fresh air in the sci fi genre.

I sadly thinks it's more all about money than the stories that they share. Even though both share a lot of themes. Appretiate the theory and hope to see more

I straight up cancelled my HBO Max sub when they announced that they were giving up on the greatest show of our generation.

Thinking about why people watch GOT or HOD has gotten me to this conclusion that it is easier for them to understand what lies in the past than it is in the future. And after all of this being said, I still love Raised by wolves no matter what happens and I'M DYING to see when we will get the 3rd season.

I would've thought they could have alternated the releases, wolves 2023, hotd 2024 or a summer/winter split to keep viewership subscribed. Anyway always appreciate the analysis and also pissed as this was also my favourite show

The Mary Sue archetype is being pushed hammer and tong by all major networks, which destroys the argument by itself. The most likely culprit behind the injustice of its untimely demise is almost assuredly covid and/or economically related. Though if you truly wanted to dig into the social sciences here, I'd be wondering why the first major high-budget, pseudo-mainstream series that depicts atheists as the protagonists in direct juxtaposition to the religious (and unapologetically, I might add) was so obviously wrongfully cancelled. There might be something there.

Raised by wolves tells a creative and beautiful story. I’ve noticed that most shows that contains material that has an awakening effect usually does not last long, Raised by wolves is one of theses shows, as it’s not a distraction show but one that parallels to the system we live in.

Raised by Wolves was cancelled because Daemon Targaryen wanted it cancelled for the protection of the HBO realm.

I loved the design of the mother figure when she took her military form.

We started this show late but fell in love just in time to hear it was cancelled 🥺 WE HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS 😭 its not like we can pick up a book either

It got canceled because of money when Discovery took over they made huge monetary cuts.

This was my favorite show on HBO Max and possible my favorite sci-fi show of all time. I do think tho they knew the show wasn't getting a 3rd season and rushed too much stuff into it. I feel the Religious War on Earth should have an entire season it self or atleast 2 or 3 episodes throw in. Gonna miss this show and we'll never know how it was gonna play out 😢 😭

This show was one of the few unique and interesting shows I've seen in the last decade. If you're really into Raised by Wolves, I would recommend reading the Xenogenesis Trilogy and Earthseed Series by Octavia Butler. The parallels are all there.

Imagine canceling a show full of mystery and over 100 questions no one truly has the answers to for a show that's literally just game of thrones 2.0 THAT NO ONE ASKED FOR. Man, HBO, I get it. Anyone else look up when season 3 would be and found this? Raised by wolves was one of the best concepts I've ever seen. At first I thought it was based of the concept of: humans create AI, AI evolves and destroys humanity, the sun with a solar flare destroy AI, Humans worship the sun. I was wrong. This show was SO much more than that. Maybe Joss Whedon is up to the task! ;)

I'm still holding out for a renewal!!! I'll even turn to Sol for salvation....

You made some good points but I think the main reason were cost, the merger, and how nonsensical the plot was. If you show that last season finale to any executive I believe they are going to think to themselves wth am I watching.

I miss mother and father! I and my eight children started watching raised by wolves when my now ex started to get into meth and lots of dudes and she was MIA from the family...so me and the children really loved watching mother and father care for and take care of their kids as a family unit. We miss this show ❤️

Raised by Wolves started with very big promotions hence big viewer number, and then gradually fall because of being high at the start. And shows are cancelled because of falling viewer numbers.

I just thought about it and decided to see when season 3 is coming out. I AM SHATTERED. It was so good and well received i never even thought there was a possibility it would get cancelled .....wow😢

So upset. I enjoyed this sci-if show and the last season seemed like it was heading into a more interesting story. But now I am not gonna find out the history of Mother and the old mother version.

I think it's interesting that people consider Mother a "strong female", considering she isn't a female, but a robot. More than that though is the fact that Mother, while attempting to be motherly tended to come off as completely unhinged more often than not. In the last episode when she is yelling at grandmother about how it wasn't "right", I couldn't help but think... you weren't worried about what was right when you murdered a ship full of men, women, and children. Now we are stuck with grandmother, an android even crazier than mother. Perhaps the real message here is that AI can never be trusted to do the right thing.

I recently binged this and I felt so let down when I learned there was no season 3.

Not to mention raised by wolves like hotd and got was pretty expensive I hope the reason it didn't get picked up by any other network was that hbo wants a lot for it because they see the potential, and will bring it back at some point

I know a lot goes into creating and producing a series like this and I just want to say well done to the writers and and all involved. It is an original and fresh take on humanity and evolution. The first two seasons are spot-on where spirituality and religion are concerned. The conflict has been there from the start of civilization and it will never end until mankind dies out. The series has highlighted some things, questions and mysteries of this world, our purpose, our beliefs and how closely we are connected to this earth and the universe. It is no surprise that even the few humans left in that world are still as divided as ever and at odds about our existence. The writer of the original script has pondered deeply about this and I must say, has skimmed the truth but I do not know whether he is now enlightened. There are only a few hundred thousand who know the truth about the earth and the universe and the soul of man and its true purpose and only those few will be able to truly relate and interpret and separate the truth from the lies, whether the entity is God or serpent. Nonetheless, I would have loved to see the conclusion of this story, if only to see how far or his close they are to the the truth.

Not renewing season 3 of Raised by Wolves completely ruined Game of Thrones: House of the Dragon for me. I no longer have any interest in even watching a single episode of the show.

I think you're forgetting that this show was created by, produced by, and written mostly by men. The truth is, as much as I liked it, Raised By Wolves had many glaring problems that prevented it from attaining a larger appeal: from esoteric philosophy, to strange sci-fi motifs that often come across as silly to most people, to an uneven story, with uneven characterizations. Many of the criticisms by professional critics and regular people on message boards were valid. With all that, and very little marketing to promote it, RBW was on thin ice from the beginning and would never have been made in the first place had it not been a huge homage to Ridley Scott's work with the Alien franchise. I liked the world building and aesthetic, but RBW was nowhere near a perfect show.

If the viewership was like that of GoT, Discovery wouldn't care about the Divine Feminine. RbW had too large a budget. Too bad - it was a great show.

A stand alone original scifi, such a shame it was cancelled, alrhought i can see it being picked up and finished i the future🤞🐍

You are WAY overthinking this. If you follow Variety and the trades, HBO is strapped for cash and has had to make some hard choices. They simply couldn't afford two high-budget series and chose to axe the one that had less earning potential. This is in preparation for their merger with Discovery+ this year. They want to get as much debt off the books as they can and Raised by Wolves was proving enormously expensive to produce.

I am also still mad at HBO for cancelling Raised by Wolves it was the most creative show I have ever seen and very intertaining. I want a raised by wolves movie now. I want it to be a trilogy! Thank you for this channel. ❤

HBOmax: we're cancelling this amazing new show to keep milking money out of an old series. RbW fans: Aaah, curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!!! But seriously I would rather have Raised by Wolves, a new and unique show with overarching universal themes, over a prequel series based on a book that will probably be tainted with earthbound idiologies and will most likely will not be more interesting than the book it's based on.

I really enjoyed the show, it was well written, and I really enjoy Ripley Scott’s work. I find it quite irritating that it was canceled.

It is better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all... So yes I do recommend it! It's amazing.

I'm kind of at loss, what's up with that woke narrative? You analysis in general is something I can agree with - both shows indeed have similar story archetype (though to be honest, due to the way they are executed and difference in main motives of both shows, I don't think the two should be thrown into the same bag). Corporation deals and the fact, they would need to run both shows featuring similar elements at the same time, is also a resonable statement. The second point sounds like a legit reason to cancel the show, the first one to be honest, seems like something that's not even noticable by those souless corporate CEOs making decisions. As a person working in art industry, I really do despise this type of management, as like in the case of Disney recently, they seem to suck the soul out of different shows and franchises dry. It really hurts the culture, and I mourn Raised by Wolves as it was a really unique show.

After watching this video, I feel even worse. It seems absurd to me that they would cancel the best science fiction series ever produced (RBW) for a piece of junk like Games of Thron. I am outraged.

Such a shame......I dont think it was about divine femininity and only being bold enough to air one. HBO Max is hurting. Supposedly massive layoffs and cuts had to be made due to hemorrhaging funds. They chose the lucrative option with GRRM's world and with it the potential for an MCU level franchise that could span multiple generations and storylines. Too bad D&D ruined GoT because now even that isn't a sure thing. I hate it. I need to know what was going on with Marcus at the end! What is the mysterious signal?? So many questions......

I finished season 2 of Raised by Wolves yesterday and have been so surprised to find out there's no season 3. I have so many questions!!! Of course there's more room for powerful female lead characters and dragons/serpents etc.

It's a good show. Personally I wouldn't mind to see 2 ..."similar" shows. Ok fine, similar - but still unique - and I've also belevie that genre it''s influence. This show it's a good sci fi. Why not having it arround?
