Just started playing with ChatGPT yesterday. Very cool software. I think it has the potential to really help boost productivity and the ability to learn

Stack overflow running scared because of chat gpt lol. I see the concern with colleges though.. it csn straight up generate an essay for you, do your homework, help on tests etc. Its like having professor standing right next to you that you are able to talk to about almost any topic prior to 2022 and have him write those answers in seconds.

The appeal for me is it basically just does work for me. Same reason I copy and paste a recipe to my mum rather than type it out myself.

@Rider9530 manual labor tasks. Things that require physical movement by humans and aren't mental type jobs. Majority being things in the trades like plumbing, electricians, construction and stuff like that.

Depends what you wanna do. Neither is better or worse if approached well. CS is basically all about building software and IT is all about running and managing an ensemble of software products efficiently. As for low budget. Both can be fairly low budget as there is good amount of online material available for free and companies that hire for these roles don't really demand top name degrees as long as you can demonstrate knowledge.

@@igetbucketz I guess if you are after fancy schools then CS degrees might be more expensive simply because some fancy schools have only CS degrees and not IT degrees. Otherwise i don't see why one or other would be more/less expensive. Fancy CS degrees aim at getting you employed at big tech and they justify higher cost on the fact that big tech salaries. As someone who worked in software engineering for 10+ I'd say to you that CS degree is completely not worthy paying money for. You can prepare your self for free if you like coding. And if you don't like coding you will struggle in this field no matter how much money you put on studies. Thus before you put money on CS degree Id say first try to finish several free CS courses that are available online a d if you love them then it might be a thing worth investing for you. I'd say IT may be more versatile and practical if you are not sure if coding and debugging is what you like doing day after day. You can put IT skills in practice in very wide range of situations and careers. On other hand most CS degree programs - while the material is of good use for some lower level coding jobs - a lot of material I'd say isn't even applicable in majority software engineering jobs.

I'll give my thoughts on all things ai at some point. I've been studying papers and using a handful of different ones because I want to ensure I'm well-versed. This was just an overview of ChatGPT with some interesting facts about it.

I still like the answers I get from my mom when I ask her questions. People like that have wit that robots don't. ChatGPT is doing the work of mothers: it's answering our many many questions.
