Want to having a passport that can travel to America visa-free? The quickest way to get it: Buy American Beef! Let me explain
A while ago, I made a video explaining why despite the close relations between Israel and the United States, Israeli Citizens still could use their passport to visit America without needing a visa.
But this is about to change. Recently, the Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas announced that the department is seriously considering adding Israel, Cyprus, Bulgaria and Romania to the Visa Waiver Program, or VWP.
However, history tells us that the American visa waiver often come with an expensive price tag attached. And you might not realize what you got yourself into... More in the video

Now I feel good about my "weaker" Indian passport. 🤣 Indian government and people will never stand still for such compromises for visa free access, even if the this tedious process to get non immigrant visa is a big pain in the ass.

It's easy to be envious of these "good passports" if you don't know the hidden cost. If and when the day comes for India, it might not be beef given the culture, but there are always other compromises. Unfortunately very few people know about these visa history lessons. If you like the video, share and let more people know!

@@PassportPlanet Making concessions to US of any kind, be it beef (not a chance) or reduced agricultural subsidies and tariffs (a long standing demand by West) or even a military base, are means of political harakiri for any leader. We do have a history of tensions with US because of their cold war support to Pakistan, their attempts to interfere in local affairs, the diplomat strip search controversy of 2013 or their economic sanctions post 1998 Nuclear tests. Even their response during pandemic during our second wave caused great deal of mistrust among Indians. So I don't frankly expect India to even try to take measures to get included in visa waiver program, even when Indo-US relations do improve in strategic domains. Although it's frustrating for common Indians like us to take so much troubles to get a non immigrant US visa to visit relatives or so, the hidden price to pay is not worth it for a visa free stay with my relatives for a small trip.

As far as I know, there is no media committed to this sort of news on the internet. Actually, that was part of the reason I started the channel - to do more reporting on visa policy changes. So I'll say for now your best source is this channel 😃

I think I feel extra good about my Malaysian passport because of that. I wouldn't want to go to the US. Their healthcare system scares me off... I prefer going everywhere in most of the Old World, which is Europe and Asia. With Australia and NZ being a good one too in Oceania. The fact that a visa waiver program made by the US will only be given by accepting American beef is literally downbad. I would rather go to Australia or NZ instead... They actually let Malaysians in without any tariffs.
