Mimi definitely seemed shocked that Kiki is our of the box. It's like she realizes that Kiki is a separate independent kitty. It will be interesting to see if Mimi remains standoffish with her baby. Dad was very sweet and curious.

I look forward to seeing her exploring on the floor. There's a whole other world out there for her to experience! 🥰💖🐈‍⬛🐈🐈‍⬛

To be honest, I really thought that when Mimi saw her daughter was out of the box, she was going to pick her up and put her back in it!

Good for a 6 week old kitten to be out of the confinement of a box. It's stressful for a kitten to be put on a high place, a place that they cannot reach normally, but from where they can fall. Why not put the kitten on the floor instead?

Luoise Low - And Kiki is now 8 weeks old in actuality (much younger in all the videos) and still in that box, as far as we know. Which we don't, because we are not kept up-to-date.

@@renatekoch4803 while i dont like that they created a breed specifically based on a mutation that doesnt mean that itt cant. happen in other animals too. ive looked. alot at kiki. and she isnt just a munchkivn but if you look closely her legs are also bowed as can happen with this form of dwarfism. thus the need to build as much strength as possible. she needs to walk on solid surfaces. my roommate and i took in two feral mommas and their litters. one of them had a much worse form of dwarfism. his front legs were severely bowed so he had a great deal of trouble walking but the sweetest personality. we knew he would be extremely lucky to survive 5 years but that was overly optimistic as he barely reached a year and still was the size of a newborn. but at least he had that year filled with love rather then the painful death he would have had in the colony.

Aber wer auf der Grundlage einer Mutation weiter züchtet ist in meinen Augen verantwortungs- und gewissenlos. Das gilt auch für andere Fälle wie Nackthunde-und katzen, Mininini Ponys usw. Wer sowas macht muss wissen, dass sich eine Mutation noch verschlimmert wenn man sie vervielfältigt. Wer das nicht weiß, hat den Namen Züchter nicht verdient. Es hat seinen Sinn, dass solche Tiere in freier Natur nicht überleben, da sie dort nicht lebensfähig wären. Ich finde es gut, dass ihr dieses Kätzchen adoptiert habt und es eine gute Zeit hatte aber ihr hättet sicher nicht damit gezüchtet… Ich bin kein unfreundlicher Mensch und trotzdem habe ich dafür nur harte Worte. Es ist mir egal was andere darüber denken, mir geht es um das Wohl der Tiere und dafür mache ich alles.

to be frank im the type who dislikes purebred just on general purpose. too many strays who can not find homes and are discarded on the streets. my roommate made the mistake of getting 2 purebreds and i never let him live it down because it leads to inbreeding and a greater possibility of hereditary and medical issues. my posting was strictly about what i could see in what was best for kiki. she is gorgeous and it is not her fault she was bred. i just cant help remembering bc. his name was black cotton because he looked like a black cotton ball. literally. and so i was concerned that kiki isnt getting the exercise she needs

Nice to see her out of the box but please could you put her on a hard surface . Trying to move on all those soft blankets constantly must be like walking through sand, which is very exhausting. It would help her leg muscles develop and wear down her claws a little, so she doesn't keep catching them in the cloth.

Yes exactly what I was thinking. Not good for her at all. No toys either, no lap to sit on. I've had lots of cats, all seems a bit worrying to me.

I'm sure that the owner is doing his best to care for his cats, and if you have any concerns or complaints about what you're seeing here, I suggest that you report them to KZread administrators who can take appropriate action, and leave the rest of us alone!!

Mimi seemed affronted..! Surely she doesn't expect Kiki 🐈🐾 to remain a tiny baby forever??😥 I adore Mimi but her shocked annoyance (it's as if she rejected Kiki🐈) upset me a little. I think Mimi's age and subsequent tragic miscarriages are possibly reasons for this odd behaviour. She doesn't want Kiki to grow up.

Yes. Thanks for noticing and stating the FACT. What you say is totally true. The videos are not showing any progress or growth. The owner is only releasing videos of Kiki at the 3 week stage, and nothing beyond that.

I totally agree. It worries me that she is not yet experiencing hard floors to strengthen her leg muscles. Soft surfaces won't help her develop....at least I would have thought.

I am heartened to see Kiki is more alert and actually out of the box and moving around. Her heart doesn't appear to beating so fast either. And she is breathing better. Next step is to be on the flat surface of the floor with Mimi and newspaper or cardboard under her so her legs and internal digestive can develop more! When is the next vet visit?
