The RC Crawling C2 CASH COMP Madness Continues! [Can a new driver keep up with a sponsored pro??]
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
In this video, we’re looking at the differences between a seasoned pro and a new driver at the first RC Crawling competition of the year!! What mistakes did you make when you were new to crawling competitions?
First up is Kenny in his Rock Pirates rig with a Cliffhanger body-one of my personal favorite combinations. This is only the second or third time that Kenny has been able to compete, so he’s still learning the ropes. We’ll follow Kenny’s run up with Rango-a seasoned pro with many RC crawling competitions under his belt. Both drivers tear this course up, so strap in and let’s get to dodging some cones!!
Let me know what you think in the comments down below! Have another idea for a video? I’d love to hear what you’ve got, so let me know!

Note to self "eliminate newbie mistakes" thanks Alec. It was really good to see and experienced driver make mistakes on course!

Hahaha I have to remind myself of this just about every time I hop on course 😂 Cheers buddy! 🤘🏼🤙🏼🍻
Also something that you can see on the video and happens often. Body position relative to the rig. The more experience driver stays closer to the car. I feel that new drivers are so concentrated on driving that they forget to walk... Cool video ;)

Great observation-thanks for sharing! I hadn’t even thought to consider body positioning, but it does seem to play a role in the way competitors drive! And I know I forget to walk just watching them! 😂🤘🏼
Recently I introduced two people to comp crawling and I can not make this up but one of the guys took a tf2 leaf sprung on class 1 hyrax and got 3rd on his very first class 2 comp with a bunch of very experienced drivers. I think it's a rare case but some people are naturals

Hahahaha that’s fantastic! Sometimes not having built up those bad habits actually helps a ton!
This is especially useful to me since my first comp is coming up in March!

I have never seen a real rock crawling competition, nor a scale trail running competition. I do however love a great challenge!!! 😎

Most certainly, even with some mistakes, Rango was taking the time to look ahead and adapting to the issues at hand. Thanks for the feedback! 🤘🏼
This was an awesome video. We have just started putting together local comps here so just about everyone is new. I would also like to mention that we have some very capable rigs but without the driving experience the rig is only half the battle. Great content.

Much appreciated! That's great to hear, I hope you all have as much of a blast as we do here. Totally agreed-experience can't be replaced by tech, that's for sure! Cheers! 🤘🏼🤙🏼🤘🏼🍻
Thanks for the video! First comp is coming up and I have if used out that throttle control is huge!

Throttle control is definitely huge! When competing, I actually like to rest my finger to the side of the trigger to increase throttle sensitivity and reduce the chances of me slipping to full. Good luck out there, but most of all, have fun!!
Thanks for the video Alec! It's nice to see a newbie compete to know what I can expect if I decided to try a comp myself. Great stuff! I'll have to try to make a trip down from Idaho for one of these.

Absolutely, thank you for taking the time to watch and leave your feedback! Practice will make your transition into comping easy as pie-but we'd love to have you join us this season! 🤘🏼🤙🏼🍻

Thank you so much, Evin! I think you and me both-I'll have to find some way to get my hands on one, if only for the review. But I'm sure we'll both get the opportunity! You have a great week, and weekend as well! Cheers, my friend. 🤘🏼🤙🏼🤘🏼🍻
Very tricky course by the look of it. I have always noticed that ant time you put money up against your talent, you pay better attention. Great learning experience.

I'd love to! I'll reach out to Rango and see if we can plan something out. I'm not sure exactly what he's running, as he's usually trying out new stuff and adapting his rig to new equipment.

Hahaha that's the problem-everyone will! Even if they think they won't, the only way to avoid mistakes is putting in the time to build that muscle memory and confidence. Thanks for letting me film your run, Kenny-you did great! 🤘🏼🤙🏼🤘🏼
Are you guys hosting an event in early March same as last year?

Hahaha well, he may not feed his family off of RC Crawling, but he is 'sponsored' in the sense that he has multiple part sponsorships from different companies.

Great question! Kenny is rocking an SCX10.2 with Rock Pirates shock towers and a cliffhanger body. Rango is rocking a custom carbon fiber flat rail chassis with mostly 3Brothers accessories.
